tried my first lush bath bomb last night and it was so nice it looked like swamp water but it smelled like absolute heaven, and i still smell it on me idk why everyone makes fun of bath bombs they’re pretty and smell good and fun why do u hate fun

i got back from london today and got myself some lush goodies whilst i was there!

i was actually given the gift box for free because it was my birthday this week and it was super sweet of the cashier to do that for me like she was absolutely lovely!

Intergalactic is a Lush Oxford street exclusive that I managed to snag from the Lush Kitchen on one of the most stressful online shopping experiences of my life (second only to buying tickets for Coriolanus online). It’s a lovely peppermint number certain to brighten your day, if only literally with the amount of glitter contained within it.

When I first received this, I was really excited- for once a bath bomb that doesn’t smell of lavender, lemon or orange, huzzah!- and sniffing it instantly brought to mind the memories of candy canes. But unfortunately, after only ten minutes of sitting next to it, the smell began to make me feel nauseous and it totally knocked the scent of my room off balance when I eventually took it upstairs and put it with the rest of my bath bombs, and I became so worried that it was going to hate the smell when it was in the bath too that I didn’t want to use it.  But having said all of that, once in the bath it smells amazing. There’s enough minty freshness to open your sinuses but not too much that it makes you feel like you’re bathing in mouthwash, and it pretty much fades completely within half an hour.

I feel like I have to warn everyone; if you do not like glitter then do NOT buy this product. This is more glittery than Frozen or Sunnyside, perhaps even the two of them combined. I personally love glitter so it was welcomed with open arms, and the type is reminiscent of the Twilight bath bomb- presumably to look like stars in the deep blue sky (the bath taking a navy blue reminiscent of the evening’s sky once the sun has set but more vibrant and appealing) hence the name ‘intergalactic’. If you don’t have a showerhead that you can hose your bath down with afterwards, or a jug you can fill with water, then I wouldn’t recommend it either, because you will need to rinse it down afterwards.

I did actually love this bath in the end, it made my skin feel immediately soft upon entering the water, and watching the steam come out of the bath and brush along the surface of the water reminded me of photos I’ve seen of Icelandic hot springs. It’s by far the most exquisite looking bath products out of all the ones I’ve used from Lush and that’s something that should definitely be celebrated, even if the scent and glitter isn’t to everyone’s taste.
