call me cliche or cheesy or whatever, i really didn't expect that i'd be writing this kind of note. in fact, as frustrating as these glitches make me feel, i've grown to love being here, and i'm proud that i've made my own space.
(yes i am adding a read more because no matter how sad this may be, the last thing i wanna do is clog your dashes)
unfortunately, due to said glitches, the final strike came when my this blog was shadowbanned. in fact, my sideblogs were fine, but this one? nah. and though i've sent out an email to the staff, i don't want to sit around and wait, knowing that this will happen again.
so it's time to say goodbye to kurosism.
(kinda, it is STILL my main so interactions will come from here)
but don't worry! i actually spent the last two days working on the theme of my new sideblog and i completed it just an hour ago.. or maybe less than that?
now, it's time to say hello to invuwrld!

muses, song mingi x gender neutral reader. prompt, would you come to my funeral? word count, six hundred twenty seven. pantone, fluff(?) + angst / bodyguard. warning, discussion of death and character death. mona likes, this is it, we’ve reached the end of 2022. it didn’t go fully well as i had hoped, but i am happy that i am ending this with a blurb i’m proud of. thank you to everyone who joined, you nuggets mean a lot to me!
“would you come to my funeral?”
at that time, mingi couldn't refrain himself from looking surprised by your inquiry. he initially forgot how to breathe, then cleared his throat to remove the air lodged there. “hypothetically, yes.”
“it's not a hypothetical question, it's a realistic scenario so i need your actual answer.”
“but there's no need for you to wonder about such a thing when i'm here to guard you.”
okay, maybe your heart skipped a whole line there. it's fortunate that he couldn't hear how it almost beat out of your chest. otherwise, you would have wanted the ground to swallow you whole.
(now, you wish it did.)
believing that to be the end of the conversation, he returned to observing the people below through the window. although the hotel resided in one of the less crowded areas of the city, he knew that relaxation wasn't a luxury he could afford at that moment. in fact, that was off the menu from the moment hongjoong asked him to be your bodyguard, which he obviously accepted.
(it was stupid of him to do so.)
“mingi?” he hummed, but that wasn't enough. so you tried again, fairly certain your idea would work. “yah, song mingi!”
he immediately turned around, gun drawn from its holster. when he came to realize that there was no threat, he returned the weapon to its rightful place. then, he did something out of character for someone who's supposed to be dark and intimidating—he pouted.
“you know you're not supposed to use that volume unless it's an emergency.” he whined, eliciting you to giggle.
“i called you but you didn't notice. so i didn't really have much of a choice.”
it didn't really sway him, so the pout stayed. amused, you moved down your bed until you sat on the edge of it. he watched you pat the spot next to it, a non-verbal invitation.
there was a little bit of reluctance from him, but in the end, he took the seat. you didn't really do anything after that, just asked him again, “if i die, would you attend my funeral?”
“i'm not sure.”
“huh?”
“we'll have to see if phantoms can attend such events.” noticing the furrow of your brows, he offered an explanation, “by then, i'll be gone so i don't know yet if i'll have to figure it out once we arrive at that point.”
and then it was the corners of your lips that were curling downwards. “what are you talking about? given my current predicament, i'll probably leave this world before you do.”
“in case you forgot, little troublemaker, that's exactly why i've been sticking close to you. it's both my obligation and desire to make sure you are safe until the others take your pursuers down.”
you sucked in a sharp breath and nodded. your situation wasn't something you liked to be reminded of. everything looked and felt terrifying, but having your guardian angel by your side eased some of the fear from your shoulders.
it was like mingi had a sixth sense that could read your emotions, for he held up his index finger and drew a cross over where his heart rested. “no matter what happens, i'll protect you until my last breath.”
and as his friends lower his casket into the damp earth, you don't tell the tears to not fall. not when they are being spent on him; he was is worth them. the words aren't able to string themselves, so you look up at the ashen heavens and hope he can read the meaning of your wobbly smile—thank you for keeping your promise.
(you also hope he understands that it will take some time before you stop hating him for not breaking it.)
