Lets talk Hip-Hop

Fred the Godson Alright, I been hearing dude out for about a year now. Do I think he's underrated? No. An MC like Fred is to smart to be mainstream. I've listened to enough of his stuff to realize that he's a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop game. Although like a lot of your favorite rappers he spits versus for freestyles(sometimes) but at the end of the day he can get away with it. 1) because not a lot of people listen to his tracks and mix tapes and shit so they wouldn't notice anyway. 2) he's real slick with his wordplay, double entendres, I mean we can say the same about Gambino though he's smart Fred is smart they don't need to be in the limelight. Even though they are two of the most strategic people in the game they do not fit the image. I'm not talking about looks either because their are some ugly motherfuckers in the game right now but they can get away with it because they know how to "Sell" it. From hearing Fred's shit do you really think he should be mainstream. Does Wayne rap like he did in the 90s and early 2000s? (I'll wait) I'm looking at it this way, every underrated rapper isn't mainstream and maybe that's a good thing. Underrated rappers don't have to change their style up they don't have to change their tone. They are most likely the ones that we go to when we are tired of the same fucking shit on the radio. Without an underrated artist such as him we would be bored with this shit. If Drake, Kanye, Hov, and Meek, are the people that take most of the room in your little music shuffle then this is not concerning you. I'll stop though, I really want to know what your opinions are about dude. I'm not all the way a fan YET for the simple fact I haven't seen him live. He's been getting a lot of recognition lately so Im just curious to know if you think him being underrated is a bad thing.
