Max Hatter who was all charming smiles and teasing words until you came along.
Max who wasn't used to anyone flirting with him for a change.
Max who had no idea what to do the first time you stole from him.
Max who assumed you would see him like everyone else did, surprised when he found out you didn't
Max who called you princess, even if you weren't one, voice filled with snark, not even noticing when it turned caring.
Max who wanted to keep your relationship secret, scared of you facing the backlash of dating the son of the most notorious villain in all of auradon, scared that the people you cared about would disapprove
Max who was so big on physical touch, he didnt even do it conciously half the time; a hand finding yours, his head on your shoulder, legs brushing against yours, fingers catching a belt loop tugging you back towards him.
Max who failed to keep your relationship a secret exactly because of that, anyone with eyes could see that he was all over you, even without meaning to.
Max who always finds himself in your arms when his father's legacy gets overwhelming.
Max who always finds himself in your arms regardless, who isn't above bribing your room mate to have some time alone with you.
Max who let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding when his friends accepted you when they met you, seeing how happy you made him. The teasing never stopped though.
Max who was maddly in love with you and wouldn't have it any other way
summary: working in the set of descendants was nothing short of a dream, however fans started noticing the closeness between you and a certain co-star
or: a compilation of times you and your secret boyfriend almost got publicly caught
warnings: secret-ish relationship,fools blatantly in love,invasive fans, i don’t think there’s any more?? :]
this is buns i’m so sorry
⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔
it was true, working in the descendants franchise was everything and more you could’ve imagined. being the first role you’ve ever booked, you were beyond anxious to meet the cast you’d work so closely with over the next many months. to your relief, they welcomed you as if you’d been in all their lives for years.
as life goes, everyone has their closer relationships with cast members and for you that was brendon. oh brendon. he was the first to talk to your fidgety self. creating a growing bond with him soon advanced after you realised the characters you play have a close friendship with one another.
you learned about eachother more, better than anybody else could and began going out one on one without the rest of the cast alongside you both. and on a late tuesday night long after filming was over, he shyly asked to be your boyfriend. the squeal you let out had to be at cat level frequency.
nevertheless, both of you decided to keep it between the two of you just incase of any mishap. despite the initial plan of secrecy,an accidental slip up of brendon calling you “darling” on the set of perfect princess soon wiped any going back. thankfully no crew members heard, only the main cast you’d grew so closely too. still,in a last hope they promised to keep it a secret. now your relationship lay in the hands of kylie, malia, liamani, alexandro, kiara, zavien, ryan and dayton. perfect. it was nicer, honestly, being able to love eachother infront of your closest friends however another slip up,or multiple, was bound to happen. especially with the help of invasive and nosy fans on the prowl.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
now the movie had been released for public view and you couldn’t have been prouder. per contra, this only meant everybody’s schedule was crammed, from interviews to red carpets;you and your beloved boyfriend barely caught a minute to yourselves.
brendon was at the gym, somewhere he was often whenever he got the chance. not that you minded, you liked a minute alone to wind down. whipping your phone out of your back pocket, you flop down on the sofa and curled your legs under yourself as you open tiktok. the first thing you see is yourself and brendon on set with the wide text ‘reasons why i believe reader and brendon are dating. part 1!!!!’.
you weren’t surprised but you were caught of guard. you knew how fans were even if someone barely interacted with another it always sparked controversy.
with no better thing to do,and pure curiosity because cmon who wouldn’t be curious, you let the first video of the series play on.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
the first video began with a clip of brendon filming the ‘group’ get ready for set and as he pointed at the camera,a silver ring catches the light on his pointer finger. the clip then switches to a picture of you in a recent instagram post alongside kiara and dayton with the very same ring on your finger. the wide yellow text then pops up ‘her wearing his ring?!’ nevertheless, you look down and see his ring on your middle finger. this could very well be a coincidence, except it wasn’t. you complimented the ring once on a whispered night in the sheets;the next thing you knew, the ring had been slipped onto your middle finger. clicking the comments, eager to see their opinion ↓
user102: omg and there’s literally a B engraved on the ring as well !!
brendontremblayfan56:better back off my man 😡
╰┈➤ user81:stfu you’re like 5yr
readerlover01: they’d be so cute
you read the comments with a small smile on your face, now you were invested. after clicking on the playlist, the next video begun so you settled into the sofa and let it play
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
the second video was a little more obvious than the last. it was a harmless bts vlog from kiara showing the cast all in costume on set. she begins the video with a grin and malia by her side, talking about whatever however the creator of the playlist had circled brendon and you talking in the background. as animated as you are,you signal to him you were cold by rubbing your arms. your characters costume,as fitting and beautiful as it was,was certainly one of the showy ones resulting in the chill to affect you more. without a moment of hesitation, and without knowledge he was on camera, your beautiful boyfriend took off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders. yes the gentleman he was however fans also noticed he was much the gentleman to you specifically. once again, the yellow text appeared while the clip played in slo-mo behind it. ‘him giving her his jacket like helloo!!!!’
brendon had this habit a lot of giving you his stuff subconsciously. cold? jacket. fidgety? his ring. and you love it don’t get me wrong but lorde you just wish he had more awareness of cameras because as friendly as he is,he hasn’t done it to any other castmates or people in general meaning the fans noticed you were special. expecting the same as last time, your thumb presses the comments once more ↓
readensuperfan098: they’re so frickin cute
user678:guys just admit they’re together or a PR stunt it’s so obvious
╰┈➤user111:who pissed in ur cereal
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
the third video rolls on and you adjust on the sofa, untucking your legs and stretching them out. brendon should be home in fifteen minutes, gives you enough time to finish the series before making him aware of the situation.
this time the video is a clip of an interview you did recently where the entire gang of kylie, malia, liamani, alexandro, kiara, zavien, ryan, dayton, you and brendon partook in a ‘personal’ challenge. it was a pair activity in which the interviewer paired everyone up with their ‘closest’ companion or rival in descendants. kylie and liamani ,malia and kiara, alexandro and zavien, ryan and dayton, and ever so conveniently you and brendon. everyone was given a stack of personalised questions for each other. everyone succeeded well enough while only getting a few difficult questions wrong about the other. however neither brendon nor you got a single question wrong about each other, even the nitty gritty ones. leading the score board to be
1.you and brendon
2.ryan and dayton
3.malia and kiara
4.kylie and liamani
5.zavien and alexandro
you can already tell how this looks until the fucking yellow text appears once more with ‘okay now they’re just rubbing it in our faces!’ and replays certain clips of ‘the way brendon and reader look at each other’
with a sigh,you open the comments ↓
user3104:they’re obsessed with each other
doglover082:the look of love 🥹
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
the fourth video began to play and to your surprise it was of yourself. in a tiktok. on hot seat. on set. your faux leather outfit crinkles against your worn corset while you answered the questions. they were normal to begin with…
‘who’s most likely to break out singing?’
‘liamani,easy answer’
‘how long does it take you to go through hair and makeup and wardrobe’
‘two hours, you think i look this good in minutes?’
wondering what the actual point to this video was,you press to speed it up until you pass a few to the last question to which they asked
‘fill in the blank: when you come to my trailer, you’ll most likely find me…’
‘i’m almost never in my trailer actually…though im usually napping in other peoples trailers like a stray cat who actually has a warm, loving home’
you laugh the end of the answer, not thinking twice about what brendon would’ve answered and now you realise they must’ve put 2 on 2 together they asked him the same question to which he replied
‘we’re usually napping! the naps in my trailer go so hard’
and on he went about his trailer and it’s comfortableness unknowing that the fans,as parasocial as they are aren’t exactly stupid. before you think any further the big yellow text appears once more ‘they nap together?? getting a glimpse of one of the trailers shows there obvi not enough room for them to nap separately….’ my god!! they think you two are cuddling it up at work! well, you were but that’s beside the point!
“smart move readenaremyparents, smart move” you murmur before the fifth and final video plays
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
and finally, the fifth and final video rolls and honestly there was no going back from it. another instagram post made 4 hours ago by your dear friend kiara. bless her,she made a cute little behind the scenes photo dump of your shared movie however you wish she would’ve background checked the photos. literally. there was no need for an arrow this time because it was right in-front of everybody’s eyes. in the back of her selfie with malia just so happens to be a familiar mop of purple hair and you cosied up on his lap. that’s right. as if it was second nature, brendon loved catching you by a belt loop and trailing his strong arm around your torso to pull you onto his lap. the thought of making up an excuse doesn’t even dare cross your mind;you’re wearing maxs signature hat brendon had plonked on your head and in return he’s wearing a lipstick print on his cheek conveniently the exact same colour as the one on your lips. both of you are pouting down at his phone as he most likely takes a selfie. darling kiara had just gave you both a head start of launching your relationship. you don’t even need to check the comments to know what’s coming. nevertheless you click the little button anyways ↓

classyclue:wtf is wrong with you guys they obviously didn’t want it public. get a job
at least some people still had sense
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
before you can contemplate the situation further, the door opens and your boyfriend stands there with a grin. dropping his bag he strolls over to you, lifts your chin and plants a kiss to your lips
“why the face, sugar?” he hums, lifting you up,sitting in your spot and plops you down on his lap.
he pats your lower back as you look at him with a frown, his dark eyes and eyebrows furrow with worry as he glances at your phone
“readonaremyparents found us out” you pout, showing him the compilation of videos
he laughs. “r-“ he couldn’t get his words out because clearly he found this the funniest situation in the world. you slap his chest gently and he quickly straightens his face.
brendon swallows before repeating “readon? as in reader and brendon?” your nod confirms his master investigation.
he cocks his head slightly before placing a small kiss to your nose “good job neither of us are leaving then,hm?” another kiss to your cheek and you couldn’t suppress a giggle
“mhm” you hum in agreement, knowing you two were forever and forever yet you still try and remain serious about the situation
“oh that’s the game we’re playing?” he smiles that smile. you could destroy planets for that smile but you knew so many others would as well. knowing your train of thought,he decides to prove you’re the only one that matters to him
slowly plastering you in kisses as he shifts on the sofa to lay your back against the plush cushion. his kisses trailed down and you knew it’d be a long night.
as long as you had him it didn’t matter who knew. as long as you had your brendon.

🥹🥹
and it’s done!!!!! i’m so sorry this took literal years and thank you so much for all who showed support and helped me decide shit 🥹i’m so so so grateful to everybody who follows and interacts with me. you genuinely mean the world to me and i say that with a whole heart. i love you all !!
In which you find him in every timeline, and in each one he seems to love you more.
You woke up with a start, sweating. Your vision was still a bit blurry as you tried to take in your surroundings, fabric unfamiliar under your body. You tried sitting up, half panicked, as an arm blocked you half way.
"Don't move, you took a nasty fall." A voice chimed beside you, soft and almost... nervous? Turning your head to take a look at who you presumed was your savior, your eyes were met with perhaps the cutest boy you'd ever seen; black and purple hair trailed down his forehead, nearly covering the tops of his round glasses, and to top it all off, he had a purple bowtie-- it remded you of pascal. Cute.
"Who are you?" You asked, voice more curious than it was demanding
"I should be asking you that," he responded, slightly guarded, "you essentially fell out of the sky, not even Alice's old treats could do something like that."
"I'm in wonderland..." you muttered disbelievingly,
"I actually made it to wonderland!" you said again, cheering this time. God you had been looking for a way in for months, the fabled final rabbit hole, one not even the Queen of Hearts herself could find.
"Why would you possibly want to be here?"
"I wanted an adventure, and what better place than the infamously impenatrable wonderland?"
"You're insane" he breathed out, voice tainted with a mix of exasperation and incredulity.
"Looks like i'll fit right in then." You tossed back, grin painting your face.
He fought back a smile of his own as he sighed, and with fake reluctance, stuck out his hand.
"I'm Max, Max Hatter".
Since then you and Max have been inseperable. You would drag him out on your adventures throughout wonderland, bringing more joy than Max thought was possible, putting the wonder that had been lost under the Queen of Hearts' reign back in wonderland.
In turn he would show you new things- hedgehog croquet, moving mushrooms, even the forrest of doors- and give you a place to stay, hiding you in the castle right under the Queen's nose.
Love came easily, how could it not when everything felt a little more vibrant when you were with him, the gentle breeze wrapping around the both of you, almost as if it was ushering you two closer. Despite the danger everything felt right
And Max? Max melted.
His hand always found yours mindlessly, eyes tracking your figure on every adventure, to him you were more stunning than anything Wonderland could possibly have to offer.
Your penchant for adventures and his penchant for you was what led you here. Sun beaming down on you both as he snuck you out of the castle yet again and led you through a tunnel, and across a meadow.
"Can I take my blindfold of now?" You laughed out, being dragged along by Max.
"No no it's just a bit farther." Max swore as he led you up a hill, one hand holding a basket while the other was intertwined with yours.
"Stay still for moment... -okay you can take it off now." He said, voice nearly shaking with thinly veiled anticipation.
Your eyes took a few minutes to adjust back to the light and let out a soft gasp, "It's beautiful"
A pastel checker picnic blanket, adorned with a rather large asortment of sweet treats, sat underneath the glowing lumoria tree as flora and fauna gently swayed in the soft scene before you.
It took you both less than an hour to end up in a more familiar position after gorging yourself on Max's delicious baking, you'd always tell him he really could be a palace chef. You were sitting up straight, back against the tree trunk as Max was sprawled out on the blanket, head resting on your lap.
Max let out a sigh, low and deep as he looked up at you. You had always been gorgeous, he found you more beautiful with every breath you took, but your glowing now under the soft light filled him with a bittersweet kind of adoration, love so full his heart hurt from just this one thought.
"I don't want you to leave Wonderland," Max mumbled out suddenly, breaking the peaceful silence between you two, turning to bury his face in your stomach, "I don't want you to leave me."
Your hands found his hair, combing through the strands as you spoke, "Where is this coming from?"
"Its just-" another sigh left his lips "Won't you have to leave? Go back to your home?"
"And i'll find a way to take you with me, if I got in then surely we could both get out- I mean only if you want to, of course."
A life outside of wonderland, a life with you, away from this reign of terror. He could even bring his father with him, they could start over together somwhere far from here. Max doesn't think he'd ever thought something so incredibly wonderful before.
"Of course I want to!"
You pinched his cheek gently as you spoke, but that did nothing to deter the smiles blooming on your faces, "Then what are you worrying for? I could never leave my pretty, pretty boy"
His face flushed redder than a tomato. Pretty boy? Him?
A soft hum broke him out of his thoughts, "Looks like you don't belive me," you leant down as you spoke, voice brimming with faux concern, teasing evident on your face, "guess I'll just have to convince you real well."
The moment your lips met his, Max was convinced. There would never be anyone else for him. You had ruined him so thoroughly, your lips were his oxygen and your touch his water. He would hide you from the queen forever if he had to, sell his own soul, just to let every day be like this.

Staring at Max's outstretched hand, you know it would be better not to take it.
Your mother could be anywhere within eyeshot and absolutely lose her head if she witnessed you in flight. She already sees anything you do as unregal and would revoke your admission to Auradon Prep with the wave of her fan.
You'd be risking everything if you dared go along with this...
Your gaze drifts toward the painted teacup on your desk.
There is a world of brightness out there, just within your reach. A world filled with so many different shades of life. Will you really pass up the opportunity?
Your fists clench at your sides.
"Will we be gone long?"
The question draws a smirk across Max's lips as he steps a little closer.
"The walls won't even notice you left."
The reassurance is more of a joke than anything, but his eyes tell a different story.
Just like before, when he'd been running from your aunt's guards with leaves tangled in his hair.
His eyes still carry the sincerity of a boy. A promise behind them that makes your heart waver just a little.
You nod once before placing your hand in his. Max's smile stretches from ear to ear.
"You won't regret it," the Hatter promises.
He digs through his pocket and pulls out another handful of pixie dust.
With a gentle blow, the golden sparkles scatter around you, clinging to your clothes.
You'd expected to start floating immediately, but your feet remain firmly planted on the ground.
Before you can ask why, Max beats you to it.
"Do you trust me?"
A laugh escapes you before you can stop it. It's a ridiculous question.
"You robbed me the day we met."
Max groans dramatically.
"You're really going to keep bringing that up?"
You simply nod.
Max rolls his eyes.
When they meet yours again, the teasing is gone.
His gaze is steady. Serious.
As though he's about to tell you something he's been carrying for a very long time.
"Do you trust me?" he asks again.
He steps backward until he's standing on the windowsill.
Truthfully, you don't. You've known him for less than a day. Just because you were raised behind palace walls doesn't mean you're naïve. Trust isn't something you hand over on a whim.
Your silence tells him everything.
Max draws in a slow breath.
"Close your eyes."
You raise a brow at the sudden request and Max scuffs.
“Humor me.”
With a sigh, you listen. You can trust him enough to do this at least
"You see..." he says, taking up your other hand. "Pixie dust only works under two very specific rules."
His fingers tighten around yours.
"Faith..." He gently guides you forward. "...and trust."
You nod, listening.
"Faith that this dust will lift you off the ground."
A small smile creeps onto his face.
"You've already seen me do it – so you know it works."
That much you can believe. Without magic, a fall from this height would be fatal.
You begin to feel a faint tingling spread across your skin.
"The second part..." you can almost feel him smiling, "...is trust."
"No peaking." He teases, leading you forward.
The breeze brushes gently against your face. You’ve gotten closer to the window.
"You have to trust yourself to carry your own weight."
One of his hands slips away. You feel it again at your ankle. He gently lifts your foot onto the windowsill.
"Trust the magic to keep you afloat."
A pause.
"And..." his voice softens, "...trust in me to catch you."
Now you're standing on the windowsill.
The midday breeze feels wonderfully cool against your skin, a welcome contrast to the warmth of the summer sun.
It does nothing to calm the frantic beating of your heart.
One step. Your thoughts race. One more step and you'll—
You hesitate.
Every instinct tells you to retreat to solid ground. Max's gentle hold steadies you before you can.
"So..." His voice is completely serious now. "Your Majesty."
He lets go of your hands.
"Do you trust me?"
Birdsong drifts through the air below, mingling with the chatter of students walking across the courtyard.
You take one slow, steady breath.
Your mind screams that this is absurd.
That any sensible royal would climb back inside and close the window without another thought.
...
You were never particularly sensible.
Before courage has the chance to leave you…you take the final step.
Your breath catches, eyes squeezed shut. You brace for the worst.
But…
Nothing happens.
A few heartbeats later, you cautiously open your eyes.
Max is grinning so brightly you almost forget to breathe.
"You're flying!"
The realization settles over you in slow, disbelieving waves.
"I..." You look back toward the open window.
"I am flying."
Your eyes drift to the glittering dust clinging to your sleeves. Then your hands. Then the endless sky around you.
"I'm fly—"
Your gaze slips downward.
"...Ah!"
No one had ever warned you about the first rule of flying: don’t – ever – look down.
The ground stretches impossibly far beneath your feet. The world tilts. Your stomach lurches. Your eyes slam shut again.
"Wait—"
You barely catch Max's voice before your body suddenly shoots upward.
Fast. Far too fast.
The wind roars in your ears as panic seizes your entire body. You curl into yourself instinctively. The higher you rise, the stronger the pressure around you feels.
You don't know what to do. You think you’re going to die.
"Max!"
Your voice is almost swallowed by the rushing wind.
"I'm right here!" Even through the rushing wind, you hear him.
Just enough, you risk opening one eye searching for him.
Max follows after your ascent, slowly catching up to your rising form. The world below grows smaller and smaller, and you curl further into yourself.
"How do I stop this?" you shout at the top of your lungs.
"Stop thinking about the ground!"
Easier said than done.
"Pixie magic responds to you, remember? Faith and trust!" Max calls back, sounding just as worried as you feel.
You try to remember what he'd told you.
Faith – faith that the dust would lift you off the ground.
Now that you're hundreds of feet in the air – and still counting – you have more than enough faith.
Trust – trust in the magic to keep you afloat and…
Trust in me to catch you.
Your eyes snap open, meeting the determined gaze of the boy below you. Max stretches out his arms toward you and gives a single reassuring nod.
"Do you trust me, Your Majesty?"
The same question.
Every time he's asked it, it's carried a different meaning.
Now, your life depends on the answer.
You draw one slow breath, forcing yourself to focus on anything besides the dizzying drop below.
You choose to focus on Max.
The small mole on his right cheek. The curve of his jaw. The warm hazel of his eyes.
His skin looks impossibly soft.
Before you realize it, you find yourself wondering what it would feel like beneath your fingertips.
The thought is enough.
Your attention slips away from the ground entirely.
The magic responds at once. You stop rising.
For one terrifying second, your body hangs suspended in the air.
Then gravity takes over..
It's the same thing all over again: your stomach lurches, the wind rushes past your ears.
Then, strong arms wrap securely around you.
The fall never comes. Instead, you're met with warmth.
"I've got you."
Max pulls you a little closer.
"I've got you."
This second time, the words sound more like he's reassuring himself than you.
Still you're grateful to hear them.
Neither of you move.
Max simply holds you there, suspended among the clouds while both of your racing hearts gradually begin to settle.
It takes several long moments before you find the courage to open your eyes. It takes even longer before you're willing to step back.
When you finally do, the sight steals your breath away.
The clouds part around you as sunlight pours across the kingdom. From this height, everything stretches endlessly beneath you.
It's breathtaking.
Your hand remains gripping Max’s vest, just in case the magic gets away from you again.
Thankfully, you hover without any trouble this time.
"Now that the fun is over..."
Max offers an awkward smile. You answer him with an icy glare. He immediately lifts his free hand.
"Sorry." A sheepish laugh escapes him. "I'll guide you this time."
He smiles.
"And much slower."
-
Max proves true to his word.
After dusting you with another pinch of pixie dust, he links his arm through yours and gently leads you through the skies above Auradon.
From a comfortable height, he shows you everything.
The lively shopping district, bustling cafés, the kingdom's coastline outlooking the Isle of the Lost.
Even the Enchanted Forest.
Here, the trees provide enough cover for the two of you to fly much lower without fear of being seen. Max guides you gently over a winding river, one hand resting lightly at your waist while your reflection glides across the water below.
Curiosity wins.
You reach down, letting your fingertips skim the cool surface. Ripples spread beneath you.
It's all so… magical.
Eventually, the pixie dust begins to wear off.
Max gently guides both of you back to solid ground beside a quiet lake.
The moment your feet touch the earth, everything feels strangely light. As though your body still expects to be floating. Before Max has even finished landing, you throw your arms around him.
"Whoa."
Only then do you realize what you've done.
Heat rushes through your body.
You quickly step back, smoothing out your clothes before offering him a small, embarrassed bow.
"Thank you." You search for the proper words. "That was..."
"Fun?" Max offers with a grin.
You smile.
"Yes."
It was fun. More fun than you've had in years.
Perhaps the first time you've ever truly had fun. Albeit exhilarating, heart-racing kind.
"Oh, that was nothing," Max says excitedly.
"Just wait until you meet Felix. He throws these incredible shadow parties. You'll understand when you see one." He's practically vibrating with excitement.
You try listening but something else has stolen your attention.
The forest.
Everything around you is alive with color. The flowers, the trees, the vines climbing over ancient stones.
Nothing has been painted over into perfection.
Everything simply..is.
Raw and unfiltered in its overgrowth and unique shape. Exactly as it was meant to be.
Max notices your expression. Then something dawns on him.
"Wait..." His eyes widen. "Have you ever actually been outside your castle?"
You meet his sympathetic gaze.
"No."
You lower your eyes.
"My mother believed everything I could ever need existed within the White Hedge Garden."
You kneel among the wildflowers, gently brushing your fingertips across their petals.
"Whenever I asked to leave..." You smile sadly. "...I was told it wasn't proper."
"Eventually I… I stopped asking."
Max quietly kneels beside you. He plucks a small daisy from the grass. Gently, he tips your chin upward.
You meet his eyes.
Without a word, he tucks the flower behind your ear.
"I'm glad I was the one who got to give you your first taste of freedom."
His hand lingers against your cheek.
Just for a second too long.
The realization suddenly hits him.
"Oh."
He quickly pulls his hand away. A blush blooms across his cheeks. You instinctively reach up, fingertips brushing against the little flower tucked behind your ear.
As though it were something precious.
Max clears his throat.
"So..."
An awkward laugh slips out.
"Where to now?"
You pause to think.
The sun still hangs high enough that you shouldn't be missed yet. You try to rack your brain for all the things you missed out on.
A familiar birdsong echoes through the trees.
Your head snaps toward the sound.
No… it couldn't be.
"Tuna!"
Max blinks.
"...what?"
A tiny songbird darts toward you at an alarming speed, circling excitedly around your head.
"Not what — who. This is Tuna," you explain with a smile. "My friend from Wonderland."
Max watches the bird with open fascination.
"How did you get here?" You ask your feathered friend.
Tuna answers with an urgent string of chirps.
You frown.
"Wait..." You hold up a hand. "Slow down."
You concentrate carefully, trying to piece together what he's saying.
"You can talk to animals?" Max asks, sounding genuinely amazed.
"Yes."
You don't look away from Tuna.
"One moment, Hatter."
The bird chirps again and again.
Your expression changes instantly. The color drains from your face.
Max notices immediately.
"What did he say?"
You swallow hard.
"My mother is on her way to my room. The animals are trying to help, but I don't know if we'll make it back before—"
Max's eyes widen.
He doesn't wait for you to finish.
Quickly, he dusts himself with another handful of pixie dust before scooping you into his arms.
"I told you I'd get you back in time..." His determined smile returns. "...and I will. I know a shortcut!"
You barely have time to protest before he adjusts his grip.
"Close your eyes and hold on tight."
A mischievous grin spreads across his face.
"This is going to be a fast ride."
You wrap your arms tightly around his shoulders.
"Ready?"
Before you can answer, the two of you launch forward. The sudden burst of speed steals the breath from your lungs. Instinctively, you cling to him even tighter.
The wind rushes loudly past your ears.
You can feel every sharp turn and sudden dive as Max weaves through the trees. Somewhere below, startled voices cry out.
"Sorry!"
"Coming through!"
"So sorry!"
Max throws apology after apology over his shoulder, though it's obvious his only real concern is getting you back safely.
Thankfully, he wasn't exaggerating.
The trip is over almost as quickly as it began.
Within moments, your dormitory window comes into view.
Max slows just enough for you to carefully climb through the opening.
Your feet barely touch the floor before—
The doorknob turns.
Not a moment too late.
You quickly shut the window then whirl toward your desk, hurriedly shoving the painted teacup into a drawer before smoothing your clothes and forcing yourself back into proper posture.
Your breathing steadies. Your gaze lowers.
The door opens.
You bow deep.
The White Queen enters without a word.
Her sharp eyes slowly sweep across every corner of your room, just as they always did back home. Her fingertips trail across your dresser. She inspects the material of the curtains with a click of her tongue. She grabs a pillow from the bed and frowns.
Every detail disgusts her.
"It isn't quite as grand as I'd hoped for a private suite..." She pauses. "...but it will suffice."
Then…
…she looks directly at you.
"What is this?"
Before you can react, she's already crossing the room.
Her heels click sharply against the floor. Each step echoes in the silence. She stops directly in front of you.
Her hand rises.
You instinctively flinch.
Instead of striking you, she plucks the daisy from behind your ear.
Your heart sinks.
She studies the flower for only a moment.
Then without a word, she slowly closes her hand around it.
The petals crumple within her fist.
When she opens her hand again...
...the once-bright flower falls to the floor in pale, white lifeless pieces.
You keep your expression carefully neutral.
Although ridiculous, you fight the urge to mourn the flower.
"Let's not allow the common folk to rub off on us too much, my dearest."
Her smile is gentle. Her hand rests briefly against your cheek.
Cold. Controlled.
Nothing like what Max's touch. You block the thought away and force yourself to nod.
"Of course, Mother."
Her smile widens.
"Do remember to visit sooner rather than later, I'll be off." Without another glance, she turns and leaves.
The door closes behind her.
Only then do you finally breathe. At last, you can relax—
There is a pecking at your window.
You whirl around and see Max and Tuna hovering outside. Quickly you move to open the window.
"Is she gone?"
Max cautiously peeks his head back inside.
"What are you doing?" Your voice to a frantic whisper.
"You cannot be here right now!"
"I know, I know."
He scratches the back of his neck with an awkward laugh.
"I just wanted to ask..." His smile returns. "...if you'd like to hang out tomorrow."
You stare at him.
Unbelievable.
Completely reckless.
...
Adorable.
"Yes!" You glance nervously toward the door.
"Yes, but go before someone sees you or worse my mother!"
Max pumps his fist triumphantly.
"Yes!"
Without thinking, he performs a backflip in midair.
You can't help smiling.
"Great! We'll meet by the fountain tomorrow morning!"
You nod. Max opens his mouth to say something else.
A familiar voice calls from below.
"Hatter!"
Both of you look down.
The Fairy Godmother stands in the courtyard with her hands firmly planted on her hips.
"You know recreational flying isn't allowed on school grounds! You'd better get your bippity behind down here, or you'll be spending your very first week in detention, mister!"
Max groans dramatically. The sound echoes across the courtyard.
Laughter immediately breaks out among the nearby students. You can't stop yourself from laughing too.
Max tips his hat toward your window.
"Until tomorrow..."
He smiles.
"...Your Majesty."
Then he swoops back toward the ground before anyone notices you watching.
You quickly step away from the window.
Less than twenty-four hours after stepping through the rabbit hole, and you're already testing the limits of everything you've ever known.
You sink slowly onto the edge of your bed.
The adventure. The flight. The forest. The daisy.
Through it all, one person remains at the forefront of your thoughts.
Max Hatter.
He really is one crazy boy.
You smile to yourself staring up at the white ceiling, thinking about his last words.

dating max is getting almost two boyfriends in one. he has his front, the max he shows off to the public, a guard to distract those from his lineage. when he's with you, he softens. pda is not something he is against, but when it is just the two of you, it is different. there's no performance. it can be dizzying, to go from gentle affection to his standard teasing next, but you appreciate seeing the full picture.
only trusts you to help dye his hair. he has done it himself many times, and has no issues doing it, but it's an excuse to have you close and playing with his hair. i do believe he would love if you dyed a matching streak in your own. he isn't possessive, but subtle reminders of him on you is something he eats up.
this goes for his nails as well. he might even prefer this more, its so intimate. proximity at an all time high as you hold his hand, careful to prevent flooding his cuticle. he loves watching your determined face. taking something so lighthearted so serious. he might even let you pick one of the colors, if youre good. (even if you weren't, he'd cave pretty quick)
pets name go crazy with him, and for a while you wondered if he even knew your name, especially at the beginning. sweetheart, darling, bunny, prince/princess, baby in an especially condensing tone that makes you weak in the stomach. the only time he refers to you with your first name is when he's worried about you.
would love to sneak into your dorm window at night. he finds it amusing the way you jump, as if he has never done this before.
some nights he stays in with you, laying on your bed while you do some boring task. he tries his hardest to distract you, with loudly practicing card tricks, hovering behind you with his chin on your shoulder, light tickles to your side, anything to get your attention back on him. (he can take a hint if you truly need to get something done, but he also knows that sometimes you need pulled out of your own head.)
some nights he's taking you out, whether that's somewhere in the forest, the lake, or even wonderland depending on his mood. he finds solace in the moments where when he's with you, he isn't the son of maddox hatter, but simply max.
loves to try and push your limits. he'll flirt with you excessively, knowing exactly what to say to get you stumbling over your words and an embarrassed look on your face. he eats it up. however, he cannot take what he dishes out. if you're able to hit him with a similiar compliment, match his energy, he will turn a lovely shade of pink.
only lets you wear his hat. it is mostly a trust thing, something stemming deep from his time on the isle. the first time you did it he had to remind himself that you loved him and robbing him was the last thing on your mind. he was able to cave quickly, seeing you wear his hat, something known to belong to him left his insides warm, feeling secure in ways he hadn't before. the moment wasn't even ruined when you began to impersonate him, he only laughed.
returning to pda, he enjoys it. using you as an arm rest, fingers brushing as he walks past, pulling you to lean against him when the both of you are standing, quick kisses on the face as a goodbye. the type of stuff that might go unnoticed if someone isn't looking for it. full believer that max would not keep you hidden or a secret, but he is a private person.
if you're a tea drinker, i do believe he can make a killer cup of it. no matter the type, he knows how long to steep it. it's genetic, and something he falls back to when you're sick or upset.
awkward at comforting. growing up on the isle and with his father, it isn't something he is used to. would most likely copy strategies you have used to help him, gauging what you need. think his natural response would be to listen while you vent and pulling you close.
eventually, your dorm would become his too. he leaves clothes, has a toothbrush there, and is often there even if you aren't. he doesn't admit it, but he likes the domesticity of sharing a space. (hopefully, if you have a roommate, they like him). he doesn't daydream often, but picturing a future with you might be his most common one.
you probably say i love you first, but he would want to say it for a while before you do so. he just wants a promise of you feeling the same. you try and tell him that there isn't any rush, that you don't expect him to say it because you did, and he shuts you up with a kiss and murmurs it on your lips.
the first time i write anything for a new character i am hyperaware of how out of character they might be so please be nice lol.

There was one striking difference between Wonderland and Auradon.
Auradon was... Colorful.
It wasn't that Wonderland lacked its own wonders. Quite the opposite, but you had only ever experienced them through the palace windows.
Between the Hatters' perpetual chaos and your family's rather strained relationship with several Wonderland relatives, your mother had long decided that venturing beyond the palace grounds was unnecessary.
Now, for the first time in your life, the world beyond those pristine white walls seemed infinitely larger.
As your white carriage rolled through the kingdom of Auradon, crowds lined the streets, waving enthusiastically at its passing.
After a moment's hesitation, you lifted a hand in greeting.
A sharp tap from your mother's fan immediately made you lower it.
"Straighten your posture, child. Do not disappoint me again with lapses in your etiquette."
The White Queen returned her fan to her lips while her free hand drew the carriage curtain closed, hiding the crowds from your view.
You knew better than to argue.
Instead, you adjusted your posture, folded your hands neatly in your lap, and carefully schooled every trace of curiosity from your expression.
The remainder of the journey passed in silence.
Only upon approaching Auradon Prep did that silence finally shatter.
The school band erupted into a triumphant fanfare, the percussion booming through the courtyard. It bore little resemblance to the refined melodies of Wonderland's royal ensemble.
It sounded less like music the music you were used to and more like organized chaos.
"Oh, my word."
Your mother visibly winced. She brought her hands up to cover her ears.
Unable to tolerate the noise, she ordered the servants to keep the carriage doors closed until the performance had ended.
Through the narrow gap in the curtains, you caught glimpses of the assembled royals exchanging puzzled looks.
At last, the final note faded.
Only then did your mother allow the carriage doors to be opened.
The two of you stepped onto the grounds together.
Judging by the surprised expressions surrounding you, it seemed your enrollment had not been widely announced.
How... wonderful.
Your mother moved a step ahead before casting a warning over her shoulder.
"Do not ruin this for me."
You silently clasped your hands before you and followed after her.
The welcoming party, however, was not who you had expected.
According to your acceptance letter, King Ben and Queen Mal were meant to preside over the convocation.
Instead, standing before the academy were Cinderella, King Charming, Fairy Godmother and...
...the Queen of Hearts...
...and their children.
Not quite the family reunion you were expecting so suddenly.
"And why," your mother asked without the slightest concern for those listening, "aren’t Auradon's real King and Queen present to receive us?"
The gathering stiffened.
Only Bridget, the Queen of Hearts, remained unfazed. She stepped forward with a warm smile.
"Sister. It is wonderful to see you again."
She spread her hands politely.
"King Ben and Queen Mal were unexpectedly called away on royal business. We have the honor of hosting today's convocation in their stead."
"I suppose we shall discover," your mother replied, snapping open her fan with practiced elegance, "whether the heart is capable of standing in for the crown."
Her smile remained hidden behind the fan.
Bridget's eyebrow twitched almost imperceptibly.
Sensing the growing tension, Cinderella gracefully stepped between them.
"And this," she said warmly, turning her attention toward you, "must be our newest student."
You stepped forward as your mother moved aside.
Offering a deep, perfectly rehearsed bow, you held the pose just long enough before straightening once more.
Every movement had been practiced countless times, every gesture measured with each expression carefully restrained.
Your mother seemed pleased.
"A pleasure to meet you," Cinderella said, returning your bow with one of her own.
"I hope you'll enjoy your time here at Auradon Prep."
You inclined your head politely.
"Thank you, Your Majesty."
She gestured toward two waiting guards.
"If you'll accompany them, they'll show you to your private accommodations."
Your brows drew together ever so slightly.
Private?
You glanced toward your mother.
She answered before you could ask.
"No child of mine," the White Queen declared, carefully surveying the assembled royals before choosing her words, "shall be expected to share quarters with... less distinguished company."
You lowered your gaze.
There was little point in protesting — not when it was already done.
Instead, you quietly followed the guards as instructed.
Behind you, your mother remained with the royal delegation to discuss matters concerning Wonderland's affairs.
As you departed, one of your Wonderland cousins, Red, throws a farewell your way.
"See you later, cousin," She called with a lazy wave, Pink more enthusiastic in her manners.
You acknowledged them with the smallest nod before continuing toward your new room, the sounds of the welcoming ceremony fading behind you.
-
The guards unlocked your door before placing the key carefully into your hand.
With a courteous bow, they wished you a pleasant afternoon before disappearing down the corridor.
Only once their footsteps had faded did you finally step inside.
The room was...
Exactly like home.
In the worst way imaginable.
The walls, furniture, drapery — every inch of the room had been fashioned in immaculate white. Not a single trace remained of the vibrant colors you had admired outside. A courtesy arranged by your mother.
Grand.
A quiet sigh escaped you as you wandered farther into the room.
Your luggage had already arrived, every belonging carefully unpacked and arranged with meticulous precision.
It was almost as though you had never left the palace at all.
Only one thing was different.
The window.
It stood open.
You wandered toward it almost absentmindedly, resting your hands against the sill.
From here you could see the academy grounds stretching below.
Students laughed together. Some hurried between buildings. Others simply sat beneath the trees, talking as though they had known each other forever.
You watched them in silence.
Like some forgotten painting locked away in a gallery...
...you couldn't have imagined your first day would feel quite so lonely.
The world seemed so close.
Yet impossibly distant.
A knock sounded at your door.
You exhaled slowly.
Wishful thinking would accomplish nothing. If anything were to change you would have to be the one to change it.
You crossed the room and opened the door.
No one stood outside.
Your gaze drifted down both ends of the hallway.
Empty.
Well — almost empty…
Resting neatly against the threshold sat a familiar porcelain teacup.
The corners of your mouth lifted ever so slightly.
You bent to retrieve it.
It was no longer the pristine white cup you remembered. Tiny sketches now covered its surface. Miniature mushrooms, playing cards, a pocket watch and Wonderland's winding paths.
Even a terribly drawn hedgehog wearing what appeared to be a crown.
You found yourself tracing one of the doodles with your thumb.
Curious.
This...
This was the first splash of color your room had seen and strangely you didn't mind.
Closing the door behind you, you turned back toward your room.
Only to freeze.
Standing comfortably in the middle of it, completely uninvited, was Max Hatter.
He was so engrossed in the book resting between his hands that he hadn't even acknowledged your presence.
"Auradon's Ancient History," Max read aloud before snapping the book shut with an enthusiastic clap.
He looked at you with theatrical disbelief.
"Don't tell me this is the book you were reading when we first met."
Your surprise faded almost immediately into quiet amusement.
"Is it such a crime," you asked evenly, "to wish to understand the kingdom in which I am expected to reside?"
"No." Max wandered toward you without the slightest concern for personal space.
"I just think that's the boring way to do it."
"What?" you replied. "Reading? I wasn't exactly doing it for your entertainment."
You reached for the book with your free hand. Max casually lifted it out of reach.
"No." He grinned. "I'm talking about learning."
You looked at him, expectantly.
"Why settle for someone else's stories..."
He says, tucking the book beneath his coat.
"...when you could go make your own?"
You frowned slightly.
There were no pockets inside that coat. Let alone space for something so large but…
The book had simply vanished.
"What exactly do you want, Hatter?"
Max placed a hand dramatically over his heart.
"Your Highness, you wound me. Must I want something simply to enjoy your company?" His faux innocence is amusing to behold.
Your move past him, discarding the tea cup on your desk top.
"Hatters are traders."
A pause.
"Nothing comes without an exchange."
"You don't even know me." Max offers you a raised brow.
"Perhaps not." You inclined your head. "But when I saved your life..."
Your eyes drifted meaningfully toward the teacup.
"...you thanked me by stealing my porcelain."
Max followed your gaze.
"I brought it back."
"You returned it after trespassing into my room," you stepped closer. "And now you've stolen one of my books."
One elegant finger pressed lightly against the center of his chest.
"I should say you're making a rather poor impression, Hatter."
Max laughed.
A genuine laugh.
"Fair enough."
He had clearly cornered himself — not that Hatters ever remained cornered for long.
Instead of arguing, he gently reached for your hand.
Slowly.
Giving you every opportunity to pull away.
You didn't.
His brown eyes met yours, heavily.
He bowed once more before placing another feather-light kiss upon your gloved knuckles.
"Then allow me to begin again." He smiled.
"Properly."
Releasing your hand, he backed toward the open window.
"May I have the honor of showing Your Highness the real magic of Auradon?"
Your answer caught somewhere in your throat.
Truthfully...
You wanted to go.
To see more than carefully polished hallways.
More than palace walls.
More than another perfectly arranged white room.
But—
"My mother would see us." You warned.
"Then," Max said with a mischievous grin, "I suppose we'll simply have to go somewhere she can't."
Before you could object...
He climbed onto the windowsill.
Your heart lurched.
"Max."
Your room sat at the very top of the dormitory tower.
One misstep and —
He leaned backward.
"...Max."
And fell.
You rushed toward the window, panic overtaking every ounce of royal composure.
Only to stop short.
Max wasn't falling.
He was standing sideways against the castle wall as though gravity had politely agreed to take the afternoon off.
He looked entirely pleased with himself.
"How..."
You barely managed the word.
Max answered by producing a small glass vial from his pocket.
Inside shimmered golden pixie dust.
"Borrowed a little pixie dust from Tinker Bell. Don’t worry – I promise to give… most of it back."
He scattered a pinch into the air.
Golden sparkles drifted around him.
Moments later, he floated effortlessly upward until he hovered just beyond your window.
He extended a hand toward you.
"So..."
His smile softened.
"What do you say? Will you let me show you Auradon?"
The proposal was completely irrational.
Utterly irresponsible.
Almost certainly forbidden.
Then again...
No one came from Wonderland without being at least a little insane.

The first rule of Wonderland politics was simple:
Never trust anyone smiling at you.
The second?
Never trust anyone who wasn't.
You learned both before you could walk.
The White Queen's descendant sat at the edge of the castle gardens, one gloved hand balancing a delicate porcelain teacup while the other skimmed through a thick, white-bound book. Beside you rested an acceptance letter to Auradon Prep.
Every rose in the garden leaned subtly closer, eager to peek at its contents.
"Eyes on your own petals," you sighed, snapping the book shut.
The flowers immediately straightened, pretending they hadn't been staring.
A small laugh escaped you.
Peace. Quiet.
Exactly how you preferred it.
Exactly how you assumed it would remain...
...until it didn't.
A startled scream split the air overhead.
Your gaze lifted just in time to see a boy around your age plummet over the castle wall and disappear into a hedge with an impressive crash.
Silence returned.
For all of three seconds.
The boy burst upright, leaves tangled in his hair caught beneath the brim of an oversized hat. He looked wildly around the garden until his eyes found yours.
For a fleeting moment, the panic in his expression melted into something else. Curiosity — as though he'd stumbled upon something far rarer than an escape route.
A crooked grin spread across his face.
Then heavy footsteps echoed beyond the gates.
His grin vanished instantly, and his panic returned tenfold.
"Hide me... please." He begs.
You considered the request.
If he was fleeing the unmistakable march of royal guards, perhaps he deserved whatever consequences awaited him.
Yet desperation was difficult to counterfeit.
His eyes carried none of the arrogance of a criminal — only the urgency of someone truly cornered. Against your better judgment, compassion prevailed.
You gave a small nod and he hurried to your side.
"Do not make me regret this," you said evenly, rearranging the items on your tea table as though nothing were amiss.
You sprinkled another spoonful of sugar into your tea.
"You won't, I prom—"
You spared him no opportunity to finish.
Instead, you pressed the teacup gently toward his lips.
He took an involuntary sip.
It took only seconds.
His voice squeaked.
His sleeves swallowed his hands.
Until finally...
...he stood no taller than your boot.
You carefully gathered him into your palm just as the castle gates burst open.
The Queen of Hearts' Royal Deck marched into the gardens, armor gleaming and spears striking the stone in perfect rhythm.
Their eyes swept across the grounds.
You merely lifted your teacup with quiet composure.
"Ordinarily," you observed, "one receives notice before such a grand entrance."
Your calm gaze settled upon the captain.
"To what do we owe the pleasure of the Queen of Hearts' Royal Deck visiting the White Queen's gardens?"
Only then did they seem to notice you.
Every soldier snapped to attention.
One bearing six embroidered hearts stepped forward and bowed deeply.
"We apologize for the disturbance, Your Highness."
From within your hand came a tiny whisper.
"They're apologizing?"
You shifted your fingers ever so slightly.
The miniature boy understood the warning and wisely fell silent.
"We are pursuing a fugitive," the captain continued. "He fled through this area after vandalizing royal property. Under the direct order of Her Majesty, the Queen of Hearts, we must bring him in. Have you happened to see him?"
The soldiers slammed their spear shafts against the stone. The sharp crack made the tiny figure in your hands flinch. Without drawing attention to it, you subtly angled your hands farther from the soldiers.
"There has been no such individual within these gardens," you replied without hesitation. "Nevertheless, I shall instruct our own guards to remain vigilant."
A measured pause followed.
"What is this fugitive's name?"
"Max Hatter, Your Highness. Son of Maddox Hatter."
You inclined your head thoughtfully, using your teacup to cover your moves.
Opening your hand just enough to glance downward, you found the tiny boy tipping his hat with entirely inappropriate politeness.
"I appreciate the information," you said. "You may carry on."
With another bow, the soldiers departed.
The gates shut behind them.
Silence reclaimed the gardens.
Only then did you release the breath you hadn't realized you were holding.
You lowered your hand to the table, releasing the fugitive from your grasp.
The miniature Hatter walks around the table, looking up expectantly.
"...Now what?"
You glanced toward the roses.
They immediately began shaking their branches.
A sleepy hedgehog tumbled out from beneath the bushes, along with a neatly wrapped biscuit that had apparently been serving as its pillow.
You offered the creature an apologetic smile.
"My apologies, Serge."
The hedgehog merely gave an understanding snuffle before curling back into its nap.
You broke off a small piece of the biscuit and handed it to Max.
He accepted it with both hands.
One bite later...
He was full-sized once again.
Max dusted crumbs from his coat before looking at you with unmistakable admiration.
Without warning, he reached for your hand.
He bowed.
Then gently pressed a kiss against your gloved knuckles.
"Thank you, Your Highness."
He stepped backward toward the gates.
"A pleasure, Hatter," you replied. "Although..."
You tilted your head ever so slightly.
"Are you certain you wish to leave through the very gate those guards just used?"
"A Hatter never stays in one place for long."
He flashed that same irrepressible grin.
"Besides..."
He effortlessly juggled your porcelain teacup between his hands.
"No one ever checks the same place twice."
One elegant eyebrow rose.
"So."
Your voice remained perfectly level.
"You intend to add royal theft to your growing list of charges?"
For perhaps the first time since crashing into your garden...
Max hesitated.
He looked down at the teacup. The porcelain gleamed beneath the afternoon sun.
Then he smiled.
"I suppose I do..."
His eyes met yours.
"...if it means I'll have an excuse to see you again at convocation."
A challenge. A playful one.
You met it without the slightest crack in your composure.
"I shall be certain to greet you."
A tiny pause.
"Perhaps with several guards accompanying me."
Max laughed.
"Then I'll hold the Crown to it."
He tipped his hat dramatically.
"Adieu."
Determined to make a graceful exit, he strode backward through the gates only to trip spectacularly over the threshold. The resulting crash echoed through the gardens.
He sprang upright as though nothing had happened.
You couldn't help it.
A soft laugh escaped you.
Max looked back.
The grin he gave you this time was smaller.
Warmer.
Then, the marching echoed close again. With another wave and a smirk of mischief, he disappeared beyond the walls.
You remained where you were, watching the gate sway gently until even the sound of footsteps faded into the distance.
Maddox Hatter's son...
How curious.
A chorus of delighted squeals suddenly erupted beside you.
The roses.
You turned to find their white petals slowly blushing pink.
Your expression remained composed, though you sighed as you lightly brushed the nearest bloom with the back of your hand.
"Compose yourselves."
The flowers only giggled harder.
You closed your eyes for a brief moment.
It seemed...
Auradon Prep was going to make for a very interesting year.

Skipping through the halls of Auradon Prep was a regular routine; Wake up, get ready, hop, skip and jump to class.
Your whimsical personality didnt have a care in the world as you hopped your way to class but that whimsy absolutely shattered once you bumped into one of the most rumoured and well known VK's, son of Maddox Hatter,
Max Hatter.
It took you a few seconds to comprehend what had just happened but you snapped out of your daze once you realised you had fallen over and a very upset Max Hatter was yelling at you.
"Are you fucking KIDDING ME? Watch where you're going cotton tail!" Max shouted, your eyes had grown wide and a nervous grin appeared on your face, this isnt a great first impression to the most rumoured guy in school.
"Ha! Oh my hex! Im so so so sorry!" You stammered, struggling to get words out. You gathered your things that had fallen out of your bag and stood up, dusting off your outfit.
Max had glared at you the whole time but as you stood up he realised he caused such a scene and classmates had already been staring and whispering. " Ugh, it's alright just watch where the hex you're going next time, Fluffy. "
You tilted your head confused, correcting him with your actual name, introducing yourself as the White Rabbits Daughter. He blinks once, twice. " Do you even realise I'm mocking you? " He questions. Your brain seems to be loading slowly as the expression of realisation washes over your face.
"Ooh..OH! Haha! I thought it was just a cute nickname! I was about to call you one!" You giggle. A hue of pink blushes his face. " Other than Max do NOT call me any nicknames. Now get out of my way and STAY out of my way" He glares at you.
" I'll try! But y'know I'm always a shake of a rabbit's tail away! " You wave him off politely, skipping away again to class, back in your whimsy world. Max is left stunned, still pink in the face. He slowly turns back to his group of VK's who he completely forgot were watching that whole scene unfold.
The Smee twins and Felix were snickering and pointing at his blushed face while Hazel smacked all three at the back of their heads, though she had a smirk of her own on her face.
"Never thought I'd see you blushing for an HK." Hazel wrapped her arm around Max's shoulders as the group walked to class."I AM NOT." Max loudly blurted out, making the students in the hallway stare at him again.Hazel sighs. "We all know you are, including you. Lets go to class before we're late or before you cause another scene."
They all head to class, embarrassment hanging over Max's face.
