in the working - for - luxu verse, hana is sincere in her desire to save sora.  he’s like her, back when she wasn’t broken, and she’s the villain now; she’s bad.  she’s sick and angry and wrong.  she doesn’t deserve to be alive.  but if she saves sora --- if she saves a hero --- that means that there’s something good to come out of her continued existence.  that her life isn’t a net negative for the world.  that she isn’t better off dead.

It’s not Mizu’s fault that Hana is --- a little bit loud.  Sneaking around the Foreteller’s space is dangerous (  as they both know, given the sound thrashing that ava had given them the last time  ) and Hana’s TRYING.  Her head shakes and she manages a bright smile for the other’s sake, sun - like in the extreme.  “No worries.  I'll be quieter.”
