Track 35 - Fate/Extra CCC
"Honey. You are the hallucination.”
"But I am very much real! I have a physical body, so I cannot possibly be a hallucination. Is that so unbelievable to you?"
This was the easiest friendship he’s ever gotten. It kind of surprised him. “Friends it is!”
"Excellent, this is most pleasing! Ah, yes, since we are friends now, I shall introduce myself; I am Lucius Keren Meir Dalca. And you are?"

Opposites attract? Well… “I guess so. You have things I don’t have and vice versa - it makes us curious, thus pulling us closer to one and other.” That was the gist of it, right?
This time he let a brighter, louder (but still fairly quiet) laugh out. Her manner of speaking was particularly enjoyable. It was overly polite yet also containued a bright joy to it - excited, even.
"Lucius, right, of course." He replied once his laughter died down, a very small smile being the only indication that it had happened. "And don’t worry, I won’t be calling you Lady Anything anytime soon.” He had no will to argue with her on the subject of being friends, though. If she wanted to see them as equals, so be it. Whatever made her stop shouting, really.
Watching her kick the door open wasn’t even a shock by now. Lucius was truly something else entirely. Everything she did was being dismissed by Eris. “I’m not even amazed you kicked the door down.” He murmured, more to himself than to the blonde. “Oh… and you know you can set me down now, right?”
"Aha, so you are capable of smiling!" She exclaimed when she noticed his laughter, her energetic grin dying down to a more gentle, warm smile. "I was worried that perhaps common folk were born without the ability. A smile looks strange on such a dour face, but it is not unpleasant. You should smile more often, Eris. You do not seem so unapproachable when you do."
After a moment of waiting, and completely ignoring Eris's request for her to put him down, she frowned. Where was the infirmary staff? Were they on break for now? She did not know.
"How irritating. Are all commoners this unreliable, Eris? Hn, nevermind; I shall lay you on one of those beds for now, and search for the appropriate medicine myself." Without even waiting for his reply, she strode over to the beds and placed him very gently down on one of them.
"Now don't move from that spot; I shall return shortly." And off she goes to find something to help him. That, knowing her judgement, won't help very much at all, best case scenario.
He dropped a hand on her head. “You certainly are.”
"I do not understand; how am I connected to whatever you are hallucinating about, sir?" No, really; she genuinely doesn't get it.
"No. I think I’m hallucinating."
"Oh? Pray tell, what manner of apparition are you seeing? It must be truly strange, to warrant such a reaction."

"G-good sir, are you... alright?"
"Vous do not speak like most adolezentz ‘ere." He replied with a surprised expression, though his happy one reappeared very quickly. "I like it! I ‘ave only seen in…" What was the english word for it? He sighed and gave up. "Bratty onez."
"B-bratty...? Mm, I see, and so my manner of speaking comes off as 'bratty'... Interesting! I shall remember that. The common people truly are worlds apart from my family..." And speaking of ways of, er, speaking. "And you, your first language is not English, is it? You speak with an accent. From where do you hail?"

His face flushed considerably at the compliment he was given and, unluckily for him due to his pasty complextion, it was painfully obvious. Just as Lucius took pride in her name, Eris took pride in his hair. It’s length, it’s softness, it’s pure darkness. He often toys with it due to the fact it calms him so much, seeing as it’s one of the few things that bring about more pleasant memories of the past such as his mother’s friends cooing at him that his hair was so beautiful, so dark, so natural. One friend of his mother’s even went as far as to say he was as charming as a porcelain doll.
"I see." He responded softly after remembering he ought to say something eventually. A little chuckle left his lips, the male shifting his ruby eyes to look at Lucius’s own. "Don’t worry, I don’t plan on giving you any nicknames. It might imply familiarity - as if we are to be associated with each other as more than the mere acquaintance." He would later come to see Lucius as a great friend, someone irreplaceable, really. Even perhaps to the point where it cannot be defined as merely friendship - something special and deep and strong. But for now he was in that state of denial, furiously against any sort of idea that he might have a friend, someone he cared about.
Her laughter was just as bright as everything else, huh? It almost made him smile. Almost. Really, the light she radiated was something else on it’s own. The kind of feeling where someone is so cheerful, you almost want to be that way too and their light sort of penetrates your darkness and it’s… happy.
"You can just call me Eris." Just as he was a new type of person to her, she was a new type of person to him. "And I suppose likewise, but in the reverse. I’m always in the dark and so you are quite a… large change. That is to say I don’t think it’s bad, but I don’t see it as good either. Not yet."
He almost stiffened in her arms. Friends? He… had no friends. None at all. Impossible. But something overtook him in that moment, just for a brief second. It passed as quickly as it came but in the end he opened his mouth and replied: “Right. Friends.”
Again, she laughed. He didn't think they were to be more than mere acquaintances, eh? Well, she thought to herself, the boy known as Eris Kingsley would be in for a surprise. When Lucius Keren Meir Dalca set her mind on a goal, she would make sure it would be completed. Befriending the boy in her arms was one of those goals, and no one and nothing kept Lucius away from success. Not even the black-haired boy's unwillingness to cooperate with her. And one day, her stubbornness in this area would give her a great friend, whom she would treasure forever. But for now, she will wait.
"Ah, I see! This is what must be known as 'opposites attract', am I correct?!" This was exciting, for her; to meet someone who was poles apart from her own personality, and the type of people she was used to dealing with. Perhaps if Eris had not been so dissimilar to her, she would not be so fired up about befriending him; but she was. "Mm. Eris then. Good. This pleases me greatly! Ah, yes, you must never call me 'Lady Dalca' either if we are to be friends, it gets so very boring hearing that every day. So I shall call you Eris and you shall call me Lucius. You shall be the first to become my equal, I have decided!"
So pleased was she with this new development that not only did she miss him stiffening momentarily in her arms, she also almost missed the door to the infirmary.
"We have arrived then, Eris. Please hold on for just a moment--" She kicked up blindly, in order to open the door, before sweeping inside. "Excuse my intrusion! I have a sick student here, who requires some attention--!!"
"... Have I done something to offend you, good sir? Your expression is... Strange."
"It’s—aren’t you a teenager?” get yo british ass out
"Ah--yes, I suppose I am. I had forgotten. I have never spoken with other teenagers before, it is easy for me to forget. I apologise." never
"Not all. Just most. ‘Specially this time of year what with Valentine’s and such." Was that a ‘u’ I heard.
"A holiday centered around love makes them depressed? That... Makes so sense." indeed it was hoho
