How to Wear Spring 2014′s Hottest Trend…Pleated Skirts
As spring approaches my excitement grows for the new fashion trends. Ladies there is much to be desired so listen up. While the pencil skirts are still on my favorite list say hello and loosen up with the flowy pleated skirt because it is hitting the fashion scene hard. From Ferragamo, to Zimmerman to Zara, all the designers from high budget to low have a pleated skirt ready at the stores. Here are my MUST HAVES pleated skirts of the season!
Coated Pleated Skirt; Zara - $79
Pleated Print Skirt; Zara - $59
Christopher Kane Print Knife Pleated Skirt; Nordstrom - $835.00
Michael Kors Pleated Wool Midi Skirt; Nordstrom - 1,295
Ok so let’s talk about what you can pair this up with. Because pleated skirts are loose flowing it is important to wear something up top that is form fitting to your body to avoid a “frumpy” look. A great look and another favorite trend for this spring are crop tops and they look great with these skirts as well if you are up to showing some skin. As for the bottom if you are one of those lucky women with height, have no worries and feel free to do what you like from flats to 4 inchers. BUT if you have a height issue like me, these skirts look best with a little to a lot of extra height. You better believe I will be rocking these skirts with a pair of knee high, high-heeled gladiators!

Burberry | Fall 2014
It's true what they say, when you look good you feel good. And nothing can make you feel more confident, prepared, and well put together like a perfectly tailored jacket. Lending a modern twist on the women’s classic tailored jacket, Burberry’s fall 2014 collection offers a wide range of expertly fitted styles meaning that there’s an option for everyone. Not to mention, the available materials, from cotton, wool and even leather, are perfect for transitioning in and out of fall and straight into winter.
There are some key features that make Burberry’s tailored jackets the perfect polished yet trendy addition to any wardrobe. Their fall collection seamlessly blends very different concepts, styles, and material elements to produce a range of looks that are contemporary yet timeless.
The classic cotton jackets, though simple and refined, add an intricate component with leather and lambskin detailing, while heavier jackets in wool are accented with a silk collar. Similarly, the women’s tuxedo jacket fuses various design features into one. By using a traditional men’s style and integrating clean and slender feminine tailor lines, this shape is both fresh and classic.
But the collection cannot be complete without a leather piece. The Burberry tailored leather jacket mixes the look of black nappa leather with a distinguished tailored silhouette. With peak lapels, a single button closure, and 5 buttoned cuffs, Burberry’s rendition of the leather jacket is a hybrid of old-world classic and contemporary cutting edge.
This mastery of integration establishes Burberry’s tailored jackets as a fresh spin on traditional looks, but the perfect moderation and subtle approach is what allows these eclectic pieces to stay simple, sophisticated, and always in style.

Aquazzura | Luxury, Fantasy, & Sex Appeal
Like many New Yorkers, I’m through with winter. Every inch of me is currently screaming for summer, and my feet are no exception. Months of subzero temperatures and icy sidewalks have banished my feet to snow boots, riding boots, and the occasional chunky heels. I’m craving strappy sandals, sky-high stilettos, and a color palette other than black, grey, and camel. At this time, I find my perfect daydream in Edgardo Osorio’s collection Aquazzura. A play on the Italian words for “blue water,” the brand’s name was inspired by the Mediterranean island of Capri and the dolce vita lifestyle.
It's aesthetic evokes warm white beaches and crystalline waters; all the makings of a sensual, luxurious vacation. Bold hues such as cyan and chartreuse are abundant, as are color blocking and rattlesnake print. The stilettos are high and are complemented by cut outs, braided straps, and lacing details. These are the kind of shoes you put on to flaunt a pedicure, sip a bellini, and put your phone on airplane mode so you can’t answer emails.
Osorio further calls attention to the luxury, fantasy, and sex appeal of the collection in the product names, such as Beverly Hills (strappy, lace up sandals), Xena (sandals with high heel and multiple strap detail), and the frank “Sexy Thing” (a peep toe bootie with cut outs). But in addition to being sexy, the shoes are also designed with the wearer’s comfort in mind. Osorio has said, “Once a woman tries any of my second-skin shoes , which feel like slipping your foot into a glove, it’s hard to walk in other heels.” This drool-worthy statement only further feeds my desire for the calendar to pick up the pace so I can ditch the boots and slide on some toe-exposing heels. A trip to Capri might not be in the near future, but a trip to Aquazzura’s section at Barneys might be…
