I think the worst thing about our experience as plural is how obstinate we are about identifying ourselves. "Who are you" Me, obviously. "Oh who's fronting right now," The guy you're talking to 🙄 Someone could form and be asked if something happened by a friend while they are still figuring themself out and the knee jerk will be "I'm literally who I am all the time, what are you a cop?"

The worst part is "Me" isn't the idea of us as a singular person, it's that individual system member. We have a strong sense of self and know who we are quite clearly that most time the idea that there are other people in our head feels completely alien- and then, y'know. The cognitive dissonance of talking with system members while switching while identifying only with your sense of personhood did come free with the disordered'ness.

Anyway when someone invents a good subtle way to introduce yourself that doesn't trigger "You think that person is a stranger but they are actually well known" social faux pas in our autism rules of operation, I will be grateful.

I think this has been said before but it bears repeating. Thank you for being openly plural alongside making amazing music! I think the day before we found your tumblr we had been on a long rant to irl folks about how important it is to have representation of plural people outside of making "What is plurality" edutainment content and how worried our system was that being openly plural would shoehorn us into that space no matter what we wanted to create and I turn around and there you all are, making space and showing that other people will respect systems as diverse people and it means so much. Not just for us but I don't think it can be understated how important it is for younger plural folk to see that they have options in creation outside of edutainment. I remember when I was younger when being openly gay on youtube was reserved for people who centered their videos around it and how impactful it was when people could just, be queer, no coming out video necessary. It's so important to see that change happening in the plural community. Thank y'all for being part of that change. Also again, y'all make amazing music.

really can't put it better ourself (though i am notoriously the Alter Who Is Bad At Words lol). but yeah, i feel that way exactly. and i'll be honest, doing some of what we do is really difficult because. it's kind of unprecedented? there's so few systems out there that make stuff that is not educational or focused on being plural. music is kind of an easy route to take because for a lot of musicians, it's already a process where you can sort of lean into the dissociation. but making videos? minecraft stuff???? it requires an extra layer of organization and communication of ideas externally that there's not really a lot of advice on out there.

and *streaming* as a system? ohohohoho don't get me started. genuinely, we make it look easy. managing the dissociative amnesia and making sure it's safe is already a juggling act. then we have to be entertaining. AND it's one of those things where a huge focus is drawn to your personality and there's kind of this notable aspect of DID where your personality is inconsistent.

but at the same time, i want to show people that you can do it. and a lot of what drives us to figure out how is showing people that it's possible. inspiring others to do the same. it's why i actually love answering the question of "how do you stream as a system? i want to get into doing it" when it comes up because there's always something new we have discovered that helps.

like. ok i feel like i'm talking us up a little much. but it is important work and my main point is that i want more systems to be doing it, and i hope that i can act as a little spark to ignite more systems to talk about themselves and be open and do stuff without having to shrink themselves to make it work or avoid something because they don't see other systems doing it.

Yes! Exactly! We spent three years (possibly more) internally arguing about how we'd make streaming/recording work. We have that bone deep desire to be a creative and we grew up in the golden age of YouTube and even if what we want to record changes, the desire stays that it's want we want to do. The monthly battle of "Plant content" vs "Mincraft content" is blood thirsty and unhinged, no-one wins, except one system member who proposed a video on the botany of minecraft plants one time.

The negotiations have negotiations. Part of it is like you've said, it's unprecedented. We've ended up in the spot of going, okay let's make our Singletsona/streaming persona an OC that we vocally talk about being played by a system and incorporating plurality into the meta narrative of them because being polyfrag felt too daunting to approach any audience with. Then there's the whole push to get everyone in system aligned to start doing, which lasts as long as it takes for someone new to switch in.

And it does make things so much easier to be able to check what our systems planning against what other folks are doing. That it's possible to begin with. Hopefully as the plural community moves into making media online more dialogues can come up for how to support system members in dealing with things like unintentional switches during streams, how to manage social media maintenance if the system stops being able to create (like video/post backlogs). There are so many resources that are yet to be created but it's definitely a really hopeful period that it's not impossible and that future is on the horizon. That one day plural folk will just be normal and an accepted part of diversity of the human experience.

Thinking about tracing stardust from the air and making it part of my soul. Thinking about wandering away from the city so I can map the stars like it's the first time anyone's seen them. Thinking about doing my assignments before the due date...eh unrealistic... Thinking about the way that every second someone is dancing, every second someone is turning the page on a good book. Thinking about how the human brain is capable of anything it isn't told it cannot do. Weird splotches on his arms are the head-cannon that *if* the hair dye is because of alchemy than it has happened multiple times and the odds that he hasn't acquired random splotches of colour are extremely low.

Sometimes I'm like "Oh I don't know if physics really is for me" (I am usually doing mathematics happily when this happens)

Because I could be really good at the arts, and I have a passion for it- people want me in the arts and usually have an "uh okay" response to me doing science.

But then stuff like Artemis II happens and it's everything.

Art is what drives us towards the impossible and when we fathom the impossible it gets us into the how we could and that's all numbers. The arts wants you to learn mathematics and mathematics wants you to trace the stars with your fingertips and imagine a day when we're all out there.

And I don't think I'll know peace until I've reached out and tried

The email reply of shame that some stuff happened and I'm late on my assignment because of it and the stuff that happened definitely wasn't a fanfic writing bender.

THey can never find out I was late on 3/4 of my assignments because of writing fanfic.

Trying to balance writing (fanfic) on four principles: Engagement, Reflection, Environment and Characterization

I get good reflection and no engagement (ex: dialogue between characters) so I try to make them talk more but then the environment takes a hit.

There can be huge sections on the environment but suddenly their personal reflective narrative leaves. Once I hit the perfect ratio of all four I will be complete.

Characterization never takes a hit.

All characters are written flawlessly. They may be out of character to you, but in my messed up little fanfic they are exactly as they need to be and this is somehow deeply reflective of canon. Trust.
