It was the city that never slept, it was known for its intricacies, so tell me.. why when there is someone that can rip your heart out with one glance, you run into them consistently. history !
so i have a full bio written for lux that you can here , but i will do my best to do a tl ; dr !

she grew up in a lower class family . her mother was a housemaid and her father ended up on disability leave when she was young and he spiralled into a drunken stupor .
music was always one of the few sources of light in alexandra’s life , she loved to sing and play the guitar and piano , and she began performing in talent competitions around boston when she was 12 , bringing home generous cash prizes and growing her own confidence .
at 14 , she wowed a nyc music producer , who offered her a two - album record deal . they moved her and her father out to nyc ( her mother had to stay in boston because of contracts with clients ) and she released her first album , lux , in 2011 and it was a huge success . she was suddenly a household name , with young teens blaring her songs everywhere they went .
best of all , lux’s relationship with her father mended . seeing his daughter’s immense success inspired him to clean up and by the time lux was 16 , he was sober and supporting his daughter at every show . in 2013 , she dedicated the tour for her second album , let it rain , to him .
unfortunately , nothing good lasts forever and news of lux suffering an overdose went viral . in 2014 , the headlines were everywhere and she suddenly went from viral teen sensation to just another drugged up celeb . her label cancelled the last half of the let it rain tour and removed her from their roster .
long story short , she spiralled into a dark hole that she lost herself in for 2 years . lux refused treatment and any help offered to her , her failures weighing her down , until she suffered a second overdose under the “ watchful eye ” of her “ boyfriend ” who bailed out of fear of getting arrested . she awoke in the hospital and finally let her parents send her to rehab , which she returned from with a new lease on life and threw herself back into her passion : music .
in the early weeks of 2018 , lux surprised everyone by returning to the music industry with a short ep. , iii. , that broke her four - year silence and connected her with a brand new record label that helped her release her third and most special album yet , mad love. , in the end of 2018 . her past albums had been purely written for fame and to be chart toppers , she had no real connection to the songs , but now she poured her heart into the music and her fans felt it .
fast forward to the one year anniversary of mad love. , lux thanked her fans for accepting her back by re - releasing updated versions of her first two albums , which were being held back by her first record label !
and fast forward to the present : lux is currently working on her second album and recently returned from her world tour to promote the re - release of her albums .
her father actually passed away shortly after lux released iii. . it was a heartbreaking loss , but he will always be her biggest inspiration and motivation to better herself everyday . her mother still lives in boston , in a beautiful apartment that lux bought her parents shortly after returning to the spotlight .

she’s forever proud of who she is and how far she’s come , but she’s still a little unsteady in her shoes . she’s so so careful with each step she takes and that’s why her fourth album is taking so long , she will not release it until she’s proud of every second and confident in the work she puts out .
