There isn’t a form of media or entertainment on this planet that hasn’t been touched by and benefitted from the inclusion of the Black community. Getting older and being able to actively participate in Metal/Hardcore shows, comic book conventions, clubbing - there was always someone who made it a point to remind me that I was different from anyone else wherever I might have been simply because of the color of my skin. Made to feel an outsider within a group of outsiders. Meeting others like me who were older, who had been through the same thing, that was what helped me.
