LAVENDER picked up her phone and dialed @scfivc ‘s number and awaited an answer. She wanted to check on her friend.

“You think so? I think she looks like her mean ass father.” She lifted up the small child. “You wanna hold her? Just don’t tell Zain I let you do it cause he’s gonna pop a blood vessel if he finds out. He’s super protective over her. Thanks for the gifts by the way.” She deeply inhaled smelling the food. “Oh my god, yes.”

“Girl, those are your eyes and your lil lips. She is all you.” She quickly goes to wash her hands, not wanting to pass up the opportunity. “Okay pass her here.” She took the baby from her arms. “I think I got all your favorites. You know I couldn’t help but buy her and make her a few things. Plus you deserve some nice things since you just birthed a human.”

“Come in Lav.” Safiya called out while she changed Zoe’s diaper. The small child was fussing lowly. “Girl, you got your daddy temper. Relax.” She looked down at her, she knew Zoe couldn’t really see yet she it would take a few weeks for her vision to adjust. “You can come in Lav. Zain’ll be back, he took Zion and Jah somewhere real quick.” She glanced over at her friend while putting Zoe’s clothes back on.

She entered the room with the bag full of gifts and the Chines food. “Hey, it’s nothing to cry about Zozo.” She walked over to look at her. “Damn Saf, that’s all you. She doesn’t even look like him.” She hands her the bag of gifts. “For you and Zoe.” She smiled and placed the Chinese food down on a table. “You ready to eat now?”

LAVENDER picked up her phone and dialed @scfivc ‘s number and awaited an answer. She wanted to check on her friend.

“I am, my nipples are huge. This is the parts of motherhood I made myself forget.” She adjusted herself once more. “Well, ok. Honestly you can just grab some Chinese food. Whatever you like, just get it got everyone, I’m not too picky. I’ve been trying to keep her hat on as much as possible, but I love her little hair I just wanna look at it.” She laughed.

“Wow that’s a lot of info. Alright, I’ll be there soon. Hold tight.” She hung up on her friend and in the next thirty minutes gathered the gifts and food, making her way to hospital. Upon arrival she asked for the room number and came up the elevator and down the hallway of the maternity ward. She knocked lightly. “Hi, it’s Lavender. Can I come in?”

“We’re fine. My vagina hurts but you know..babies do that to you. Put it off for as long as you can.” She pressed the button to flip the camera and showed her the sleeping infant on her lap. “Here she is, she was just up but she went to sleep just as fast as I answered the call, got me out here looking bad.” She joked. “She’s fine though, not as noisy as I thought she would be.”

“Poor thing, I can barely deal with this period let alone having a baby. Well at least you got your blessing.” She smiled wide when the camera flipped the beautiful baby. “Awe she’s so cute. She reminds me of your baby pictures. I thought she would be especially after the video zain posted yesterday.” She stared in wow at the beautiful infant. “Do you want me to come bring the gifts and I can you bring you and Zain some food too?”

“Yea you can come on by, I don’t wanna trouble you wirh getting us both food though. The gifts are enough.” She stated turning the camera back to herself. “My hairs a mess, I’m tired, and my boobs hurt. Lord please help me.”

“Y’all just had a baby. Chill out and I’ll get you guys something to eat. I know that hospital food ain’t it.” She chuckles. “You sound over it.”

Safiya reached over hearing her phone ring. She yawned a bit while sliding the button to answer and smiled once Lavender’s face appeared. “Hey, Lav. Thanks for bringing me to the hospital.”

“It’s no problem. How are you and Zoe?” She wanted to ask before asking if she could come visit the baby and bring her some gifts.

She looked over at him “As long as you’re okay.” She kept driving towards the hospital. “Well you were complaining about how long it was it was taking and Zoey finally got sick of it. She is finally on her way.” She hoped to give her friend an encouraging word. She continued to drive until they were in the parking lot of Anorev Memorial Hospital. “Come on let’s go.” She helped her out of the car and lead her into the hospital, staying by her side even once the doctors took over. “I’ll stay with you until Zain gets here.”

LAVENDER was confused about the abrupt pause in Safiya’s speech. She followed her gaze and became alarmed. “Okay, cmon. Let me take you to my car,” She jumped up, leaving behind the smoothie. She took Safiya’s arm and began to guide her to the car. “All I ask, is you don’t have a baby in my car.” She opened the passenger door for her friend, helping her in. She walked over to the driver’s side door, and pressed her foot on the gas, heading in the direction of the hospital.

Safiya walked around the park with a smoothie in her hand. These walks were becoming part of her daily routine, one in the morning and one short one at night. She held the large cup tightly in her hand and enjoyed the scenery. “I should’ve brought the boys along, but next time I guess.”

At the mention of Sade, LAVENDER tensed. “Please don’t mention her.” She listened to her friend. “But after the birth, then it’ll be a new born and the kids, the move and the wedding. Life doesn’t slow down for anyone Saf. Why don’t you just go ahead and release the book and promo in a different way. It’s 2019, you wouldn’t have to do half as many book signings since e-book and audiobooks have grown in popularity. Why don’t you do, live readings online and breakdown chapters with your audience?” She suggested. “Okay that sounds cute. And the next thing, due you think a maternity line of streetwesr would translate to the modern mom?”

“I have all that planned and everything, but I can handle the promo with having kids. I just don’t wanna be in the middle of something and next think you know I’m giving birth on a stage somewhere far from home.” She joked. “I do like the breakdown idea though, sounds fun. I just really like getting out there and meeting people.” She confessed. “I’m gonna talk about it with Zain and see what he says. I think the maternity line is genius.” She nodded. “You know how ugly mommy clothes can be? We need some cute stuff to get stylish and expecting, plus a lot of these designers now confuse pregnant with dressing ugly. I don’t think you would have anything near that problem.”

“Well, just take it into consideration. It’s hard balancing, mom life, wife life, and work life; but, I know you’ll figure it out.” She  took another sip of her drink. “Okay, I’m glad you like all of those ideas. Now I’ve got to figure out a way to redesign the shop to include all these elements. I might have to buy out the shop next door for expansion. You’ve helped a lot Saf.”

LAVENDER sat at a near by picnic table and began to sip her smoothie. “If you wait for things to settle you’ll be waiting forever. There is no such thing as a perfect moment, just go for it.” She took a deep breath. “So I was considering with spike in sales since the past show, take a portion towards a second store. The only issue is I’m not sure if it should be the same items or if it should be geared towards children.”

LAVENDER walked through park with a cup of smoothie in hand. It had been a stressful day to decide what’s next for Lavish Luxury. She spotted Safiya and knew she could pick her brain. “Saf! Wait up.” She picked up the speed and walked to her friend. “Hey gorgeous.”

The sound of her name being called made her stop, she smiled once Lavender appeared beside her. “Hi there, cutie pie.” She laughed. “I see the smoothies called is both out this morning, what are you doing out here so early?” She inquired before taking a sip of her strawberry-banana blended drink.

“I was getting a little stressed at the boutique, so I was hoping a walk would clear my mind. And then I spotted you.” She leaned down and got eye level with her friend’s stomach “And Auntie’s baby.” She stood back at attention. “You minf if I bounce some ideas off of you and you be honest with me?”
