        The knock on the door was soft, the green-haired woman peeking her head through and calling out before she simply waltzed in - sure she could’ve waited for Jubes to answer the door, but asking permission came with the risk that she’d be turned away. So instead she made her way over to the other woman. “Hey. So I’ve got something for you. But first you’ve gotta promise not to hate me if I give it to you.”

        “It’s not a big deal, really. I’m sure I’ll come across her eventually.” She shrugged slightly. She’d find the dog eventually, and she wasn’t in much of a rush. “Yeah. It’s not a bad gig most days - then someone decides to invade or that it’d be fun to wipe out humanity.”

Pietro spotted the one red velvet in her hand and smirked a little. “Is that so?” he asked before using his speed to get from her hand and return to where he was standing with it. “Mm, Red Velvet,” he hummed just before licking some of the frosting off.

        “Has anyone ever told you you’re the absolute worst? I mean really, I thought you were supposed to be a hero or something, not some petty theif,” she scoffed, rolling her eyes and grabbing a chocolate cupcake for herself.

“Please tell me that not all of the red velvet cupcakes are gone,” he said, arriving within seconds of hearing how there were cupcakes up for grabs in one of the lounges at the mansion. 

        “Sorry, Speedy. Guess you should’ve gotten here quicker.” Technically there is still one red velvet cupcake that hasn’t been at least partially eaten, but it’s already in her hand and there is no way she’s giving it up now that she knows he wants it. “I think there’s a few chocolate left.”

        “Being an official part of the team is overrated anyway, trust me.” Lorna offered a sheepish grin, shaking her head slightly. “It’s not really a big deal, just this little stray dog. I saw her around here yesterday but I had a kid from the school with me and couldn’t stop to pick her up. I’d hoped she was still around.”

She turned to the face coming at her. “You’re too late, already did the job.” Pepper smiled.

        “Huh?” The green-haired woman glanced between the other and the police officers that seemed to be leaving, blinking as she connected the dots. “Oh, no - I wasn’t here for whatever that was. I was just gonna ask if you’d seen,” she trailed off, shaking her head. “Nevermind, not important. Dig the suit - I take it you run with the local heroes?”
