Welcome to the Cove, where I mostly post fic updates, ideas, spoilers and status on the current fanfic I'm writing.
I know the urge to ask the authors when they will update on their stories so this is what this blog is for. I didn't want any clutter in the comments on when I'll update so here we are:

Upcoming Stories:
*SONGFICS are part of the HNA universe unless stated otherwise
Lost Gears & Metal Love - Ortho Centric Song Fic - Song: Just Be Competent / or / Language of the Lost (Oneshot)
You can not tell me that these songs don’t fit Ortho to a tee
I wanted to make a fic for our boy Ortho since in HNA, he’s a side character and wanted to give him his own spotlight, even if its gonna be angsty lol
Still deciding between these two songs, I will change some lyrics to fit Ortho’s character too btw
The Longer I Stay - Yuu + Malleus Centric Song Fic - Song: Waste by Oh Wonder (Oneshot)
Watching an animatic of Genya and Sanemi with the song and the lyrics made me think of Yuu and Malleus’ relationship a bit
Plan to have it maybe after Book 7, though, I haven’t finished Book 6 yet so might take awhile
This will be more introspective and focusing on the relationship of Yuu’s mortality and Malleus’ perspective of ‘was it worth it?’
Listening back to some Genshin Impact FanSongs (played for 3 years before quitting) and while listening to this one, I was like–
“This is so Grim coded,”
Basically, the idea is Grim wanting to cheer Yuu up after seeing the amount of bullshit they deal with Crowley daily and makes a little cute music video of him singing the song
Added bonus of Ace joining in as well
Happily Never After: Cast Edition
The side stories of the main story, HNA: NRC Edition
Behind The Scenes, how the first years or Light Music Club did during those 3 weeks
Direct Aftermath, as in how the musical affected some people, not like the Masquerade event or using songs to express oneself but more, how everyone may treat a certain cast member after the musical, if that makes sense
I'll happily take any suggestions for this if I find it interesting :D
Dorm Pride - Savanaclaw Behind The Scenes of the recording of Diadem (Oneshot)
I feel like Savanclaw’s song was the only song that had both the dorm’s embodiment and their own added touch
SO, why not make a fricking reaction fic to the song (them in the recording booth) and lyrics itself
I had this song in repeat for like 2 weeks, its beautiful
Buried Alive In This Coffin I Lay - Dead dove fanfic, murderer on NRC school grounds and REDACTED, REDACTED, REDACTED, and REDACTED goes missing (Multi)
… I had this idea for so long
Will there be MCD? Hmmm, haven’t decided yet but who knows~
This will be hella dark and dead dove so if you ain’t up for that, stay in the HNA universe, loves
DISCLAIMER: These ideas aren’t in the making yet; they are just ideas at the moment as I’m working on the HNA: NRC Edition currently; my top priority
Feel free to send in ideas or thoughts for any Song Fics; not guaranteed that I'll actually do them since my update schedule is slow and writing is a side hobby, education first yall
For the qna, what if the public asks something along the lines of: 'who approved the whole trauma train wreck Sebek somehow puked out during his creative period?'
Cos Crowley's whole breakdown (which was hilarious btw) made it look like he wasn't the one who approved it. Or at least, he didn't know the content. So it's like; did yall trick the crow or was it someone else?
And considering the mages banquet plot, I feel there would be loads of questions on why they even chose that anyways. Since yk, magic people fancy thing. But they're making the show about the not magic people era or something like that. (I think)
Just a thought, love the chapter <333
Yea, the first years will happily throw Crowley under the bus and will shamelessly make sure everyone knows that 😆
For the reason on why they choose the six queens as the topic, that’ll going to be a lot harder since all that rests on their shoulders. Sebek gonna have to think of the most elaborate way of saying why the Dark Ages was an appropriate topic and why he thought traumatizing everyone at the banquet was a good idea 😅
LY YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN. YOU'VE MADE IS CRY AND LAUGH AND SOB AND GIGGLE IN ONE CHAPTER.
I love chapter 9 so much, the scene with grim and Yuu was so heartwarming 🥹 MY SON!!! And the two Greek ocs at the start? Probably my faves now LOL
This chapter was everything I imagined and more and you've done them so much justice!! I love how you portrayed their aftermath reactions to Epel's song and how snobby the damn nobles are XD Like hey!! They warned you bud!!!
Ly, you're a miracle worker and I am so excited to see what else you have in store for us
IM HARNESSING ALL THE EMOTIONS TODAY AGHHHHHH!!!
Chapter 9 is the aftermath of the storm that was Epel’s Chapter so lots of things going on at once ya know: audience’s anger at Henry and sadness for Katherine, Vil’s outburst apology, Crowley losing his shit, suspicions about the overbites, etc and then you have the first years just chilling and going ‘alright what’s next?’ Like they didn’t just traumatize everyone lol
So fun going at it in every perspective and can’t wait to start the finale 🥹
The final songs are going to be so much more lighthearted after the dark interludes everybody's going to be so happy there's no more angst in the plot
I'm so excited for the Megasix the queens finally get to go all out and have fun celebrating
Yay we are done with the angst now it’s time to party!! 🥳 🎉
We only got one for chapter of the musical left 🥹 and after that, gonna do a q&a thing with the first years -> they got pretty internet famous and people wanna hear their thoughts, etc.
Planning on asking you guys for any questions to be asked during the interview, I got some planned out already but the more the merrier! And depending on how everyone wants to ask the first years, it could get pretty chaotic aka, how long did they work on the show 👀 etc lol
I just realized in put in the wrong time zone (ง ͠ಥ_ಥ)ง UTC-8 is like 16 hours ahead of me so I literally just woke up, sorry guys for the mix up, here's an extra sneak peak for the troubles:
Sneak Peak #6 Chapter 9
Whether NRC wished to admit it or not…
They cared about each other far more than they ever let the world see–
SKREEEECH–!
A loud, indignant squawk tore through the coliseum.
Neige physically jolted in his seat.
Beside him, Idia yelped and nearly launched himself straight out of his chair, one hand instinctively clutching the empty seat besides him.
Conversations across the audience cut off all at once. Heads turned. Dozens of eyes landed toward the NRC staff section.
There–
The headmage of NRC had apparently abandoned all attempts at dignity.
He was half-standing on his seat, wildly pointing toward the stage while teachers desperately tried pulling him back down. One clung to his sleeve, another attempted to pry his hands away before he could point again, while the crow fae himself continued shouting loud enough that even people in the back rows could hear the occasional,
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!"
"WHO APPROVED THAT?!"
"THEY WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO–"
The rest dissolved into frantic squawking.
“...”
“...”
“...”
Nearly every student from NRC watched him for exactly three seconds.
Then, almost in perfect unison, everyone turned back around, the conversations resuming as if they didn’t just watch their headmage lose his mind.
Ruggie scratched the back of his neck. "...You don't think...?"
"Probably."
Leona didn't even bother opening his eyes.
He leaned further back into his chair, folding his arms behind his head as though Crowley's public breakdown was little more than background noise.
"Let's just hope the freshies knew what they were doing."
"And do we care?" Floyd chimed in with a lazy grin, “If it does get out, headmage would be liable, not the victims.”
Everyone around him nodded and just like that, went back to their normal routine.
Vil brushed a loose strand of hair behind one ear with practiced elegance, looking significantly more interested in fixing his appearance than whatever public meltdown Crowley was currently having.
Beside him, Azul quietly resumed whatever conversation he'd been having with Jade while Floyd leaned halfway across both of them trying to listen in.
Silver and Malleus exchanged a few hushed words.
Within seconds, it was as though their headmage having a public crisis was perfectly normal.
Neige slowly turned toward Chenya.
Chenya slowly turned toward him.
Both wore identical expressions of complete confusion. There was a puzzle piece they were missing and it seemed no one wanted to delve to give that piece to them.
I'm backkk! Went camping and lowkey crashed out after coming back home because I was so exhausted. But now I'm back and here is an extra long sneak peak before tomorrow!
Grim had frozen at Ace’s words, the cogs in his mind spinning.
Someone who you deeply care about?
Grim leaned back onto his hind legs, peering around the table toward Yuu. His ears flicked once as he watched them continue bickering with Ace, arms waving around while Ace laughed like the absolute menace he was.
...Well, that was easy.
Obviously, the person Yuu cared about is–
Grim puffed out his chest proudly.
‘Me.’
…
Actually.
His ears twitched.
Was he just assuming that?
His ears twitched rapidly, one paw lifting to scratch under his chin as he tilted his head. Grim rocked back and forth on his hind legs, tail flicking behind him while he tried to think of every reason Yuu would obviously pick him.
Looking at the whole picture, he was their partner. The Great Grim! They lived together, ate together, walked to class together. Yuu even let him sleep on their bed half the time without complaining too much. They'd spent almost every single day together ever since they got dumped into Ramshackle.
Surely that had to count for something.
His eyes stayed fixed on Yuu.
He puffed himself up a little more, chest sticking out proudly, but the confidence only lasted a second before his tail slowed and curled around his feet. Grim peeked around the table again, watching Yuu laugh at something Ace said, his ears angling forward despite himself.
Whenever he got into trouble– which, okay, happened more than he'd ever admit out loud– Yuu was always the first one to scold him. Then patch him up afterward. Every scraped paw, every singed tuft of fur, every dumb stunt he pulled trying to prove himself... Yuu always fussed over him afterward while muttering about how reckless he was.
...They never once left him behind.
Even after all the disasters he'd caused.
Grim's paws loosened against the floor. He stopped fidgeting entirely, shoulders sinking as the memory settled over him.
Even after the overblots.
Even after… he attacked them
Grim's ears slowly lowered.
His thoughts drifted back to that fake holiday Ace had tricked him with.
Henchman Appreciation Day.
Ugh.
That stupid day.
His tail gave a tiny embarrassed swish. Grim rubbed a paw across his nose, trying very hard not to remember how tightly Yuu had hugged him, how warm their sweater had been, how they kept thanking him over and over like the chocolates were some priceless treasure instead of a box he bought with almost all his allowance.
He still remembered Yuu's face when they opened it.
Their eyes had gone all shiny before they scooped him right off the floor into the biggest hug he'd ever gotten.
“Grim! You made this for me?!"”
He'd nearly suffocated.
(But he’d do it all again to see that smile on their face.)
And then there were all the little things.
The head pats whenever he does something good. The belly rubs whenever he climbs into their lap. The way Yuu always made sure he got his share of food before eating themselves, the way they waited whenever he lagged behind instead of telling him to hurry up.
Even when he acted like a brat, got greedy, when he accidentally caused another problem–
They still smiled at him.
Still called him family.
Grim's tail swayed slowly behind him before coming to a stop.
His chest felt weird now. A warm, really warm, fuzzy feeling deep in his stomach to his chest.
Ace's words floated back into his head.
“Someone who you care for deeply would be best…”
Grim blinked.
As hard as it'd be to admit out loud…
He loved Yuu.
Not in the gross, mushy way Ace kept trying to tease everyone about.
Blegh. No.
Grim rapidly shook his head, his pas patting down at his head at the idea. Ew.
Yuu was just…
His human.
The warm feeling settled completely, a smile growing on his face in the real fact that–
They were his family. The person he always wanted to come home to after every day…
Which meant–!
“... Cater can work, right?”
Grim’s ears shot straight upwards, horror and disgust scrunching his face.
What?!
That diamond-faced ginger?!
No! Absolutely not!
He puffed himself up indignantly.
No.
No, no, no.
If anyone was going to dance with his henchhuman, it should obviously be the Great Grim!
He crouched low, ready to launch himself straight at Ace and berate and smack him silly on the head for ever suggesting that terrible idea when they have the Great Grim–!
He froze. His body stopped mid movement, his face crashing at the sudden painful reason.
Because…
The Great Grim…
...was approximately two feet tall.
“Myah…”
Grim padded quickly away from the scene, the previous anger directed at Ace dissipating as he sulked away in a corner.
Who would choose him, someone who barely reaches Yuu’s knees on his hind legs compared to any human with decent height coverage?
He raised his paws in front of his face, staring mournfully at the tiny little things.
“...My paws are so small,”
Turning sideways, Grim glanced down the length of his own body.
“..My legs are short,”
He craned his neck upward toward where Yuu had been standing moments ago.
“...and they're so tall.”
His ears drooped lower with every observation.
“...This is the worst day of my life…”
Grim let out the most dramatic sigh imaginable before flopping face-first onto the floor.
“Myah…”
He stretched one paw toward the ceiling, blocking out the light above groaning dramatically, flexing his toes.
“So close,”
The flames in his ears flickered weakly,
“Yet so far…”
And for a long moment, Grim simply laid there, wallowing in his own misery.
“I suspected something was off during the VDC several months ago,” he admitted. “There was too much magic in the air. Too much residual strain for it to have come from normal student output alone. At the time I let it go, because there was no proof and too many moving pieces.”
His gaze hardened, settling once more on Crowley.
“But now…”
“There is something NRC is hiding,” Ambrose said quietly. “Something Crowley knows of and has chosen not to disclose to the public.”
Minajael’s eyes widened.
“And if his outrage toward the students is genuine,” Ambrose murmured, his voice lowering to something almost grim, “then I suspect they have just exposed a truth he never intended anyone to notice…”
–
“ACHOO!”
The sneeze echoed through the backstage corridor.
Ace jumped a little before immediately breaking into laughter.
“Whoa, Yuu, that was a big one.” He snorted, nudging them with an elbow. “You sure you're not coming down with stage fright?”
“Wha—? No, I'm fine.” Yuu sniffled, rubbing the underside of their nose. "Just got this weird feeling…”
They glanced over one shoulder toward the audience, squinting suspiciously.
“...Like someone's talking about me.”
Ace didn't even hesitate.
“Nah.”
He flicks a thumb backwards at Sebek, stating, “If anything, Sebek’s gonna be sneezing like crazy the moment everyone finds out he wrote this emotional tearfest.
We are now seeing a more realistic perspective on the show's content. Not everyone is going to see the musical the same way as everyone else.
"Just what was NRC thinking, allowing this to be performed during the Mages' Bouquet?"
Minajael's eyes drifted toward the opposite side of the coliseum.
There, NRC's Headmage was openly bawling while simultaneously hurling curses at the students currently performing on stage. Several staff members were desperately attempting to calm him down, while two exhausted professors had seemingly given up trying.
It was, admittedly, a rather embarrassing sight for the host school.
"If I didn't know any better," Minajael said slowly, "I'd think their Headmage had no idea what was in the finale."
"I wouldn't dismiss that possibility."
Ambrose let out a sigh and shook his head.
"I've known that man for decades. Frankly, I find it entirely believable that he approved the production without ever learning its contents."
Minajael blinked.
Ambrose rubbed a hand against his temple.
"That crow has always been more interested in the shine of the item than the item itself."
"Excuse me, Principal?"
Ambrose coughed into his fist.
"Ignore an old man's ramblings, Minajael. Just a passing thought."
The younger man looked unconvinced.
"But I do agree with your earlier point."
They turned their attention back toward the audience. People who had stepped out earlier were now squeezing back through the entrances, searching for their seats amid the chaos.
“I’ll admit I’d encourage and welcome the idea of showing the harsher sides of history, during Anne’s fall in rumours and toxic words.”
“But this…” Ambrose tapped his fingers down onto his armrest. “Although the students had done a wonderful job in storytelling and delivering a phenomenal message, it does not clear up the fact that this topic is highly inappropriate to showcase to the public.”
And true to his words, a small minority of people scattered around, nobles and parents, are voicing their dissatisfaction in the show, some people moving against the flow of traffic to leave the venue.
———
I hope my characterization of Minajael is somewhat close, kinda a Jamil and Leona fusion with a hint of sarcastic Jade is my thought :D
Come to find out, I love writing Ruggie. Dude's lowkey all of us when it comes to Leona's stupid decision in keeping his mouth shut lol
Which, Ruggie will admit, lowkey genius to foreshadow the signs, even if the supposed red flag was shoved into their faces since the beginning of the show, but Epel.
Why couldn't he have given him a heads up?
A little warning.
A tiny warning. A–
“Hey Ruggie, by the way, my song is gonna emotionally devastate the entire audience and may or may not emotional scar Vil into destroying anyone who gets in his way,”
…Anything.
They were tight! Spelldrive buddies! The guy you complained about Vil to. The guy who listened whenever you had something to gripe about.
Come on!
And now he was stuck in the middle of Vil's very obvious animosity toward Leona. Which–
Ruggie slowly turned his head toward the lion beastman.
Man, this one was all on him.
You were blabbing your mouth off during every other queen's song, you can’t just act all mysterious and selectively choose who to talk about. No! If ya gonna yap, yap! Don’t go all silent and expect no one to ask questions.
Ruggie resisted the urge to throw a program at his head.
You have the knowledge of the queens. Please share it with the class.
Because if Leona had said literally anything beforehand, maybe Vil wouldn't currently look one mildly irritating comment away from committing a homicide.
And maybe Ruggie wouldn't be sitting directly in the blast radius.
