She was a mistake. Plain and simple, her parents already had an heir and there was no need to have another kid. They figured, however, that having another son couldn’t hurt. So when in a particularly cold night Lyanna was born they weren’t pleased, but soon enough the baby won them over, especially her father. Just a few days after she was born they had left any grievances about having a daughter in the past, they had their heir already and having a girl could be good too, a proper pureblood lady.
As a child she had everything she wanted, and in the eyes of her father she couldn’t do anything wrong which lead to her getting away with pretty much anything. Her mother on the other hand, even though she loved her daughter, wasn’t so lenient with her and truly she was the only one that could put a stop to any antics Lyanna decided to get into. From an early age her mother made sure that Lyanna learned everything she had about how a proper pureblood lady should behave, and the little girl was a good student taking in everything that was thought to her, it just came easy to her to be an example of how a lady of their society and from a family with a legacy as her own should behave. Between everything she always found ways to have fun, and spend time with her brother who she always loved and looked up to.
Once she became a bit older, her mother also began to go deeper on how to navigate the treacherous world of the pureblood society, it was easy to be blinded on how grand it could be, but it was full of secrets and people wanting to get ahead not caring on what they had to do to get their goals. Her mother gave her 3 rules; 1- Appear innocuous, if people overestimate let them, it would lower their defenses around you. Listen carefully and keep your eyes open for anything that can be useful to you. 2- Never get your hands dirty. If a situation arises use anyone and anything at your disposal to deal with the situation and preferably in a way that can’t be traced back to you. 3- Only fully trust your own family.
By the time she reached Hogwarts she was a master at this, by then she also had been fed the idea that she was above most not only because she was a pureblood but she was part of the sacred 28. She was placed in Ravenclaw which created mixed feelings in her, on one hand she liked the house and she truly felt that it was the house that she belonged in… But in the other, most of her friends were in Slytherin and there were less undesirables there too. But she would deal with it. As the years passed she was polite enough to muggleborns and half bloods but there was always an invisible wall that made it clear that she wasn’t interested in any type of relationship with them, many just thought she was a snob and while that is true, it was also because her views on them never changed; muggleborns were below them and barely accepted them being in their world. Half bloods were tolerable, it also depended if they were half bloods because both their parents were half bloods or if they were the spawn of a pureblood and a muggleborn or worse a magic parent and a muggle.
Academically she excelled, was a prefect and later Head Girl, had the highest marks on her O.W.L’s and N.E.W.T’s she was top of her class and did it while making it seem so very easily, at times it hadn’t been but she had made it look like that, she impressed more people like that and to her that was important. After graduation she had the option of just not working, to a point many thought it was the most obvious path, not work and get married. But she didn’t like that idea, it was terribly boring to her and so after talking to her parents she secured a job at the ministry of magic. She likes her job quite a lot as she had always liked history.
With the war she stays out of it as much as possible. She supports the Death Eaters after all joining would entail getting her hands dirty or worse possibly getting hurt, so from the sidelines and secretly she roots for them… and more secretly she worries that her brother could get hurt.
