TYLER HOECHLIN as Jack Harper in Can You Keep a Secret? (2019)
oliverhcwls:
he’s been studiously telling himself the entire walk from the hospital to the police station, as he has every time he’s made this trip, that he’s only going to see lycan to make sure he’s okay, that’s it. it’s got nothing to do with any potential feelings he may or may not harbor towards the other. it wasn’t often that he needed to assist in the patching up of an officer, but brookside isn’t completely devoid of violence, and sometimes officers get hurt on the job. lycan showed up more often than others, and if oliver made a point to be his nurse every time, then that was neither here nor there. he just cares about the alpha, the way he cares about everyone else, that’s all there is to it.
oliver has to bite back a smile the moment he catches sight of the familiar alpha, but he ultimately fails and ends up beaming as he leans against the side of lycan’s cubicle. “you know me, i’m a real troublemaker,” he teases. “figured i’d turn myself in, you know? save you the trouble of havin’ to come arrest me and all.”
the light, carefree banters they shared were something lycan treasured - that nonchalance much-needed to break the monotonous solemnity of police life. he rested both his arms on his desk and bent down to rest on his chin on the pile before looking up at the other, a grin already touching his mouth. “you are a troublemaker, i’ve seen you in action.” it was a small tease. “so, what prompted this visit? you here to see if i’ve been mortally wounded and is in desperate need of medical assistance?” lycan continued, his grin unfurling with each word. “you can touch and see if you want, check for wounds.” he flexed his biceps a little as a sort of beckoning.
jonahxholt:
jonah was trying very hard not to be rude in that staring at the alpha was something he considered rude. it was hard, he was sweaty, clearly just coming off of a good workout. he had to keep his gaze at the male’s face, to keep himself from completely embarrassing himself. there was no hope in that if he kept himself distracted, “oh, thanks.” he managed to mutter, stepping inside, as he did so he got closer, unable to keep himself from smelling the other. his scent mixed with sweat had jonah’s hear swirling a little.
he managed to get into the building without tripping over himself. the place relaxed enough that you could seat yourself wherever you wanted. before choosing, he turned towards lycan. “would you like to share a table?” he wasn’t one to assume, so he thought to ask. there were plenty of spots at the booths and at the counter.
as lycan neared the other, purely by chance, he caught a waft of his scent too – sun-kissed oranges and sweet caramel – far too intoxicating for him to ever forget. a scent that had lingered on his pillows and sheets before. he cleared his throat then, trying to leash his own desires, to put on a smile for the other, and to, most importantly, not let that scent get to him.
the inside had a thin crowd, as he knew it would. lycan often stopped by this place after his jogs for a light meal. at the other’s question, he arched a brow. “of course, man, we aren’t strangers right?” strangers didn’t share beds, or had sex until the sun came up. “come on.” he gestured and walked over to one of the empty booths, grinning when he took his seat opposite the other. “soooo, how’s work, little healer?” lycan combed his tuft of sweat-stained hair back.
jonahxholt:
jonah managed to pull himself out of bed before two o’clock that day. he’d worked the night before from nine to about five the next morning. he barely had enough time when he got home to pull off his uniform before crashing for the day. he pulled on some clothes, and leaving his small apartment to try to do something with the day. he had no clue what that might entail, but here he was walking through the town, looking for something to do. seeing burger bar in the distance, he went towards it, realizing that he’d been starving.
as he got to the door someone had gotten there at the same time as he did, “oh, i’m sorry. let me get the door.” the omega grabbed the door handle, pulling the door open for the other. “sorry, again. i was just letting my stomach take the lead. didn’t mean to be rude or nothin’.”

lycan took his morning runs seriously.
many wolves overlooked their own forms, but he had never. lycan flores’ body was a temple and it was up to him to keep it clean. chest heaving and sweat-slicked, the wolf came to a gradual stop near the restaurant, heart still raucous in his chest from the jog. only after a few, deep breaths, the world around him came back to sharp focus enough for him to approach the diner’s door. as his hand rose to open it, however, it clashed another’s.
he caught a waft of jonah first before even seeing him, that familiar scent. lycan’s signature, toothy smile beamed on his face at the other’s words. “oh, please.” he held the door open, too. “you first, i insist.” he adjusted his taut work-out shirt a little, but it did nothing to hide the chiseled muscles underneath.
it was a slow day at the station, filled with the languor of paper-work and counting time to the white clock pinned above the main entrance. police work wasn’t so needed in brookside, a pacifist community, but there were times when its residents gave a few too many funny ideas and decided to test some out. that was when men like lycan flores came in, to uphold order. but on idle says such as this one, he only spent it at his little cubicle, chin on one hand, idle.
a familiar scent wafted in and lycan looked up — already knowing who was here. oliver, his savior from tedious days. “well, well, did someone get into something illegal? always knew you had a mischievous streak in ya, oli.” he offered the omega a toothy grin, leaning back on his chair.

( tyler hoechlin, male, he/him) • • • not to gossip but i just saw lycan flores down town. the 30 year old alpha works as a lieutenant here in brookside, and has been living here for 10 years. i’m fairly certain they live in downtown brookside, in the pack they are consider a general member. don’t tell anyone, but i heard they’re + lively & - sullen, and super into breeding & exhibitionism. • • •
lycan has always been on the lookout for ways to prime himself — and duke and paws serves as a sort of sanctum for that. it’s a sunday night, meaning he was relieved of his police duties, and like clockwork, lycan finds himself in the gym’s locker room, sweat-stained, chest heaving still from exercise.
his ears perk up, much in a wolf-like way, when footsteps approach him from behind. he turns around to look at a familiar face. “i thought the owners had their own separate bathrooms,” lycan grinned, pearly teeth radiant. “you doin’ good, ‘kota?”
