Blast From The Past - Wonder Woman EDC 2012 + DIY - Super Hero POW! Headpiece
A few stills from my first time dressing up as Wonder Woman. I made this costume to wear at day two of EDC back in 2012. I had an amazing time channeling my inner super hero.
I opted to wear a ‘POW!’ headpiece instead of the original crown she wears as you see here. It’s super easy to make and super fun! Happy Crafting!
XOXO - Drea
Materials:
Blue Glitter
Gold Glitter
Gold Fabric (small 10 x 10 square)
White Stiff Felt (One Sheet)
Pencil
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue
Regular Craft Glue
1. Start off by making the base for your headpiece. You can do one of two things, one, buy gold colored stiff felt, or two, use a piece of gold fabric to glue over the white stiff felt to create a strong base. The reason I recommend setting a gold base down first is because it will allow for the gold to pop more and it will decrease the amount of glitter to completely cover the base. Once you have your gold base set, cut it out freely to create a spiked bubble.
2. Next, move onto drawing out your letters on your felt. Make sure that your letters fit nicely within the space of our base, then cut out.
3. Now, take your letters and cover them with craft glue, then cover with your blue glitter. I recommend setting down a magazine to use as a work space when covering your letters in glitter. This will come in handy when returning the extra glitter back into it’s container.
4. While your letters are drying, take your base and repeat step 3 on the base, except use your gold glitter. Allow to dry.
5. Once your letters and base are completely dry, begin to hot glue together.
Now, you have the option to glue your headpiece onto a headband or buy a small metal hair pin to secure onto. For my Wonder Woman costume, I glue my headpiece onto a tin elastic headband, which you can find at Target.
