EAT,SLEEP & GYMNASTICS
One of the hardest things, was retiring from being a competitive gymnast. For 12 years gymnastics was my life, it was always: EAT, SLEEP, & GYMNASTICS.I also coached gymnastics from age 14 to 23 . Gymnastics has taught so many skills and not just gymnastics skills, but life skills. It teaches you to be responsible from an early age. My favorite event to compete was probably floor. Floor just gave me so much power and I felt like I was on top of the world. I think it’s funny that I can flip on a 5″ beam but can’t walk straight in a line on the ground. Gymnastics also taught me to be disciplined, without it I would not be successful. It also taught me if i want something, that I have need determination to get what I want. It has taught me that I need respect for my coaches and teammates. Without respect in a gym, it can be a very hostile place. My teammates helped become the women I am today and I wish I could go back to when I was at the gym every day with them. At the end of the day, Gymnastics has made me stronger, independent, respectful and most of all thankful.
