Why can Laci Green promote “slutty Halloween costumes” one day, and say it’s reclaiming their sexuality, and then Anita can go the next day and say women showing skin makes them objects.

Usually that has to do with “I put myself in slutty clothes” vs. someone else putting women in slutty clothes.

Ah, the classic “it’s okay when we do it!” phase.

Yeah exactly. It’s not the clothes that are the problem. It’s the fact that the character is not choosing their own outfit. They’re concerned about the freedom of women rather than the fact that they’re scantly clad. If you’re going to argue against feminists it’s important to understand that.

It’s a freakin video game character, though, I mean…. really. It’s not a sentient human being.

I understand that. That’s almost the point really. Real life women can choose to be scantily clad for themselves on their own terms. A video game character can’t do that. The only reason that a video game character is dressed like that is for the viewing pleasure of whoever sees it. That’s what they have a problem with.
