Lyla's body naturally fell against him at his gentle tug, a accomplished smirk forming on her lips as he spoke. "Don't you think the surprise was ruined the moment you told me that you were going to ask me, the now hottest blonde in the entire state of New York, to be your girlfriend?" She teased, shooting him look. While coming down the steps, she gave his hand a gentle squeeze. Sure, the two of them could exchange witty banter with one another all day long but when it came down to it, Lyla didn't need that to fall for him. "I won't deny that you're all of those things," she paused before coming to the car door and shifting her body to look at him with the full extent of her attention, "but you're also dangerously handsome and nurturing and not to mention one of the most clever people I've managed to come across. You're so much more than the broody frat boy you hide behind." Her smirk faded into a small smile before she turned on her heel and climbed up into the SUV. She tipped her head in a nod to assure him she was ready, the familiar feel of his hand on her thigh to comfort her as always. Lyla allowed her hazel gaze to steal a few glances on the way to the restaurant, each and every time making her heart flutter in a way that it never had before.
