Is Yugi really Atem's reincarnation? Like truly? Cuz as time goes on I'm starting to believe that less and less because with seto that is literally the case he is the reincarnation of the priest but Yugi? He's just the chosen wielder of the puzzle and just so happens to have a resemblance.

It's kind of funny and makes a lot of since he isn't cuz that means there's an actual reincarnation of atem out there. Makes the ending even more bittersweet.

the thing i like about the yugioh manga, is that it's really expressive. it's just something i wouldn't consider otherwise, but especially in later seasons - of the anime - everyone seemed like cardboard cutouts of their previous selves.

i know this segment in the anime was one of the best animated, but expression wise....mm.

so season 4 just has them devoid of emotion until absolutely necessary (see joey vs Valor?? Valon im not sure) (see yami vs rafael) (see yami's breakdown. only yami seems to show literally ANY emotion, case in point:)

marvelous thoughts. i always liked the idea of ryu and bakura because, like you said, bakura was trying to do what he could for ryou in the only way that he knew how.

whenever he took control of ryou yeah he stabbed his own arm but for the most part he made sure that ryou was out of harm's way and isn't there a dual where bakura kinda sacrifices winning it because ryou was in danger during battle city or am i wrong (i'm not thinking of the one where he dualed yami and brought out a confused ryou to mess with yami).

idk their relationship is always something to gnaw on.

YUUUP yami yugi vs. yami bakura in the battle city tournament. of course bakura frames it as a selfish thing, saying he just needs to protect ryou's body, and yet.......
