@lylastone
You’re welcome, Ly. [pulls away] Alright, I’ve got a flight to catch and a family to say goodbye to. Be good and take care of my little tyke in there.
Alright, have a safe flight Lu. [pulls away and wipes her eyes] I will, and I love you asshole.
Thank you, Lyla. That means a lot to me. Everything you said does. I won’t be far. And if you need any help, I’m here.
Thanks Scar, I'll call if I need you--which when the baby comes will probably be always.
Hey. At least Ev gets to be an amazing uncle right? [smiles softly] I have to do this. It’s just.. something I started and now I have to finish it. This is the only way. Plus the police academy is literally right down the street.
And you'll be a good aunt, when you get back from this whole adventure. I'm..really proud of you Scar, honestly.
Hey, if you ever need a place to get away to, I hear MA is amazing this time of year. Cold as shit, but pretty cool. You’ll be fine, Lyla. You’re an amazing woman and you’ll be an even more wonderful mother. Don’t doubt yourself.
I'll..keep that in mind. Probably be blowing up your phone too with crazy pregnant lady calls, I don't know. Thanks..Lu, really.
I’m feeling the love, Ly. God I’m going to miss you.
I don't know how I'm going to get through this mess without you..honestly.
Lyla
I’m literally fifteen minute away, so don’t be afraid to call if you get in trouble.
A little late for that. [rubs her stomach with a small smile] Are you really sure about this?
Lyla
In honor of my memory here, I feel as if you should name it after me.
Shut up and hug me, asshole.
"Don’t worry about Ruby. And I already spoke to your boyfriend. Hell I took a hit from him too." He stayed quiet for a few minutes. "So what are you going to do? Put our baby up for adoption?"
Lyla's brows furrowed as she studied his face, reaching her hand up to let her hand graze there. "I'm sorry I didn't..God why would he do that?" She shook her head, sighing shakily as she moved her blue eyes away from his. "Of course not..I want this baby." She put her other hand to her stomach, her hand gripping it gently. "I just don't feel comfortable at Kingsley..okay? I know you'd rather have this baby with Ruby and I'm sorry I'm not her..but I can't deal with all of this, I don't know how to.."
Adrian gently grabs her hands to make her stop packing, “You shouldn’t leave. I dont want you to leave. You can’t leave me. I don’t want this freedom. That’s my child too Lyla and I want to raise that child.”
"But I'm not the girl to raise this child with Adrian..and I can't months turned to years of resentment from your loving girlfriend and looks of disgust from mine--I can't do this..and I can't do this to you and your life."
He walked closer to look at her, “Were you planning on leaving without telling me?” He asked sternly, curious as to why she was leaving.
"I was going to tell you..yes." Lyla replied with a shaky sigh, still not looking at him as she finished putting what she could into the bag. "But I debated whether I should..I can't stay here anymore I can't--I'm giving you your freedom alright?"
Adrian was heading back to his room when he noticed Lyla’s door was cracked open a bit. He walked over and knocked a bit before letting himself in. He spotted her packing a bag and raised a brow, “Where are you going?”
Lyla froze when she heard Adrian's voice, glancing over her shoulder at him before she turned back away quickly. "..I don't know." She replied honestly, running her fingers through her hair a bit nervously. "At least not yet."
Lyla sat against her bed on the floor, folding clothes and putting them into a bag. She held her father's ring in her hand, sighing softly before she put it on and continued packing.
Because I know if I freak out that it will only freak you out more, and I don’t want that.
Yeah..I guess you're right.
You might surprise yourself. I think a lot of people think that until they actually have one.
..How are you being so calm about this?
[sighs and grabs the vitamins from the counter] Here this ones are the ones you need— I read about them in a magazine about being pregnant. Um— I’m sorry, I can’t do this. If you ever need anything my offer is still available. See you around Lyla.
[watches her before turning away] Yeah..see you.
