A few months ago now, my family adopted a sweet black kitty cat only for us to discover she has a rare genetic abnormality that requires medical intervention. The cost breakdown is listed in the gofundme description, but I will break it down here as well.

Diagnostic appointment: 430.36

Second appointment, x-ray with contrast: 197.03

Surgical consult: 211.75

Cardiologist: 1,077.60

Surgical estimate (high end): 3,251.42

Total cost: $5,168.16

We’re setting our goal at $6,000 to ensure Mavis gets everything she needs—not just to survive, but to thrive.

This is my darling baby girl, Mavis. She's so Itty bitty and just the sweetest kitten, and now ranks as the most expensive pet I have ever had, but she's worth it.

Anything donated will help, and sharing this helps so much, too.

Mavis is home! We picked her up last night. The surgery has already helped with her breathing, which is now a normal resting rate for a kitten. She has also had an easier time eating and meowing. She isn't super thrilled about the body wrap, cone, medication, and not being allowed to run around. She's getting lots of love, though, and we are happy to have her.

Update! We have raised $1,493. This has covered the diagnostic appointment, second set of x-rays, surgical consult fee, and her up-coming check up appointment.

As kittens are, Mavis wants to run around and jump on and off stuff. Her movement is still restricted, and it has been frustrating for her.

Improvements we are seeing:

● Can meow so loud

● Able to breathe at a normal rate

● Able to eat
