"Would you like to head back to school now? I don’t want to keep you too late." Being caught alone, off-campus with Lysandre was sure to only fuel those unwanted rumors, and Sycamore knew he needed to take more action to put a stop to them. But there certainly was nothing wrong with caring for someone who needed it, right?

"Yeah, let's go," he had caught himself watching Sycamore's lips rather than his eyes. Swallowing thickly, he turned his gaze away, then slowly stood up. It still shocked him how much taller he was than the professor, even though it never really bothered him with most other people.

Small, and he wondered how frail, or if he was frail at all. Maybe if he could hold him and feel under that coat of his he could tell--fuck, what was he thinking?

"Augustine, that's your first name, right?" Reaching out, he took hold of the counselor's hand in his larger one. "Let's go, Augustine."

"No problem. Anything to help a student." He smiled, then, catching himself blushing, found a reason to excuse himself from the booth. "Wait here, okay?"

He soon returned to the student with some water, with the excuse of not wanting to aggravate anything. “You need to play it safe, take it easy when you’re sick” Sycamore sighed. This was not playing it safe.

"I'm not sick, really, but thank you." Sycamore was awfully vigilant about keeping watch over Lysandre and taking care of him. When the thought crossed his mind, he smiled behind the edge of the cup of water before downing it in one breath.

Setting it down, he wiped at his mouth with the back of his wrist and set his hands on the table, fingers splaying out. Lysandre stared at them, then turned his eyes up to the man.

"R-right. We’ll have Lance handle the other students, and the two of us can go—" He paused, realizing that taking a sick student somewhere isolated might look a tad unsavory. "—We can go wherever you want, right?"

"Right." So they do head to a nearby coffee shop, away from the mess that was the field trip. Inside, he seems to calm down just a bit, his once-trembling hands now finally relaxing and sliding into his pockets. "Thanks."
