London, 1920s. 

An era of postwar restoration and the bright young things of society.  In Soho, a receptionist working after hours in a newsroom obscured by smoke stubs out her cigarette on an envelope. Voices of men and their staccato typewriters sound in the next room.  The envelope catches fire, and she lights a fresh stick from the flame. Someone steps into a jazz club in Piccadilly.  Amidst the intoxication and ceaseless crowds, hands and bodies meld into each other. They kiss the latest poisons from the mouths of others. It is still not enough.  An antiquarian sits in his manor in the suburbs, surrounded by the shadows of macabre paintings and the cawing of crows at high windowsills. A pen scratches against a diary… and writes… and writes…

Stars and Flowers is a retelling of the events of a two person Call of Cthulhu game. Follow investigators Morgan Branwen, Sam Church and Aran, as they navigate the social and eldritch horrors of 1920s London (and beyond).

Character Introductions

Lord Morgan Branwen is a recluse who only ventures into society for the express intention of expanding his art collection. The only other thing that interests him is news of his missing friend.

Samantha Church is an investigative journalist forced into writing gossip columns for a tabloid. She can’t say it out loud, but she misses the days when she hid her identity and acted as a war correspondent.

Aran is an actor who entered the industry for everything but acting six years ago, when an accident left them estranged from both their memories and family. When they’re not on a movie set, Aran can be found at the biggest parties– socialising, but not making any connections.
