Is that what I think it is?
Oh gods BāElanna⦠no more⦠Iām totally gassed.Ā
I thought you had so much energy to get rid of? But alright Lyssa, you win. Letās call it for today.Ā
If you insist. Iām going to sit here on this nice comfy floor for a moment.Ā
Haha, okay. You know, your front kick is getting scary. I feel sorry for the bag.Ā
Lyssa, bane of the punching bag. These things happen when you have a good teacher.Ā
Thanks, but it takes a good student, too.Ā
Oh really? Know where we could find one? In all seriousness, those pots didnāt know what hit them, did they?Ā
Pots? What pot- Oh! You little pātak!Ā
Wow, Iām gross. Pass me my towel, would you?Ā
Here ya go. BāElanna⦠is that what I think it is?
Checking to see if your wedding band fits in your gym bag or did it need a change of scenery?Ā
Oh. Um, yeah, thatās my wedding band. I suppose I could put it back on now.Ā
And Iām the pātak? You did the deed? Already? Ha! Of course you did.Ā
Sorry. I planned to tell you today, I swear!Ā
Congratulations, BāElanna.Ā
Thank you. We havenāt really told anyone yet. Itās not a secret, since weāre wearing our wedding bands, but we havenāt announced it, either.Ā
So give me the details! When did you find time to corner the Captain?Ā
Um, well. We didnāt. We just told Captain Janeway this morning.Ā
Okay⦠Last time I checked, holodeck characters canāt perform valid weddings so Iām missing something here.Ā
Itās actually acceptable in Klingon culture for two people to take a marriage oath without anyone else present. Itās binding and legal and nothing more has to be done. Well, almost nothing.Ā
Here. Take a drink and give me all the details. I want to hear all of them.Ā
Okay. Well, it was the night after we got out of those damn bubbles. We were lying in bed - or actually, on the floor - Tom said something to me about how he wished we could get married āright now,ā and I suddenly realized weād already done the first part of the marriage, uh, ceremony. So I told him about the oath, explained that it was legal and that we could do it alone. And he agreed.Ā
The first part ended on the floor eh? If thatās how the ceremony starts, why did you bother to finish?Ā
Because we wanted to be married.Ā
Fair point. So first mind blowing sex, then an oath and thenā¦Ā
More sex. Wait, how did you know that the sex was āmind blowingā?Ā
Because Iām looking at you. And it ended on the floor. You only put up with rug burn from the Ā horrible Starfleet issue carpet for a really good reason.Ā
Yes, I suppose thatās true. Although the rug burn is sort of minor on the injury list⦠Is it getting hot in here?Ā
And here I was thinking that the bruise on your shoulder came from your stay in airponics. Should I replicate you an ice pack?Ā
Oh Lyssa, you have no idea. We have a contraband dermal regenerator in our quarters. Tom actually gets the worst of it, most of the time.Ā
Dermal regenerator? Well that paints a vivid picture.Ā
Does it? Iām guessing youāve never been with a Klingon?Ā
Correct. I heard the stories and rumors around the academy of course, but I tried not to pay them too much mind. I confess Iām curious to know how much of it was real.Ā
Iām sure itās not all real. You know how people like to exaggerate, especially when it comes to things in the bedroom. But I donāt really know what was said. People donāt usually gossip about having sex with a Klingon in front of another Klingon.Ā
True. Very true. So the wedding went sex, oath, sex?Ā
Well, uh, yeah. When you put it that way it sounds so unromantic. The oath required fire - candles, but still - and batāleths. And the first sex had to be specific, not just a regular romp in the sheets.Ā
Last time I checked sex was pretty romantic BāElanna.Ā
I think that can depend on those involved and how they feel about certain, um, desires. Lucky for me, I found a man who enjoys the Klingon aspects of sex.Ā
You found a man who enjoys being with you cause youāre you. Here, help me up and Iāll buy you lunch.Ā
I wonāt say no to that, Iām starving! Now, tell me how everything went down on the bridge during the Kerr loop crisis.Ā
