Always annoys me when people make jokes like "new games announcement, can't wait for them all to just be 100 different farm sims", like people who enjoy farm sims haven't watched game announcements streams filled with FPS games without complaining but the moment a previously unrepresented game genre becomes more common people act like it's oversaturated.

Literally the majority will always act like the minority is overrepresented the MOMENT they get a minute in the spotlight in almost every single facet of life and media and anything. Whether it's a mundane thing like farm sims or something more serious like underrepresented real world experiences.

People become so used to their norm and their interests being prioritised that the moment someone else's interests or norm is allowed to shine they start to realise what it feels like to sit on the sidelines waiting for your turn and they hate it without realise how many years we've been doing that whilst they had their fun.

So they'll say "okay you've had your turn now, let's go back to us" as if they have a greater right to be here than we do. Because they've come to see their privilege as the norm and no matter how tolerant or nice they think they are, they're only willing to put up with change if it isn't really meaningful.

Mini Rune Factory rant. (Spoilers for Ryker and Mauro's romance routes)

Anyone else dislike the latter or final romance events for both Mauro in GoA and Ryker in RF5 for similar reasons?

They're both great bachelors who I chose not to marry both because I felt like the MC didn't deserve them.

For Ryker in RF5, the player feels controlling and unfair by telling him he can't continue to be a phantom thief because it's dangerous, despite the fact that the player themselves has also operated outside the jurisdiction of the law to deliver justice, also has a dangerous job and the fact that Ryker's phantom thieving isn't even as bad as a traditional phantom thief because all he literally does is steal items that have ALREADY been stolen and deliver them back to their rightful owners. That's not stealing, that's just a dangerous way to recover stolen items.

But despite the player fighting monsters every day the player successfully convinces him to give up his family legacy because it's 'dangerous' and this is a requirement for marrying him.

I figured it was better to just not marry Ryker and let him keep doing what he was doing.

And for Mauro in GoA... If I decide to romance the overly affectionate and loud Italian man I want him to be overly affectionate and loud. We did not wait all these years to finally romance a De Sainte Coquille for the game to force the player who wants to romance him to sit through their player character telling him to 'tone himself down' when all he's doing is expressing his affection and feelings the same way we've seen him do throughout the whole game.

I think the plot point about Mauro needing to take their relationship more seriously is very sweet and well thought out.... But I can't stand the element of the player being negative towards Mauro just being himself.

For me, the ultimate way you can put me off your bachelor (or bachelorette) is make it so the player character is controlling towards them for some random, unnecessary reason. They're both amazing bachelors but I don't like feeling like the game is speaking for me in a romance plotline and saying things I would never dream of saying to people who aren't doing anything worth being criticised.

Btw please don't be shocked if my art style is changing dramatically lately. I've fallen in love with a very particular, very shoujo-esque aesthetic and I'm shifting my art towards it by force.

Just subjected my friends to watching all the LotR movies (extended edition) in the cinemas with me over the course of a few weeks.

Just got home from Return of the King and would honestly do it all again in a heartbeat.

Watching it in the cinemas just hits different. I was too young to have seen it in the cinema originally so I'm very happy to have been able to watch it now.

This time it's an elf character I made after watching all the extended edition LotR films in cinemas with my friends. (I would do it again in a heartbeat btw)

She's not really a Tolkien style elf but definitely a Lyuna style elf.

She had two forms. One for the Human-world (the green one) and one for the Elven-world (the blue one)

If she enters an Elven domain she changes to the blue form.

She's a swordswoman and for now I've named her Laifel.

I'd been struggling with it for ages and finally figured it out.

Another Rune Factory hot take of mine is that fans asking for Rune Factory to remove random events shot themselves in the foot.

I see so many people saying RF5 and GoA don't hit the same in terms of the town feeling alive as RF4 did, yet I see those same people complaining about random events in RF4.

In my opinion, random events were always what gave the town its sense of life and losing them to a lesser form of more scheduled/predictable events has been one of the greatest losses of the series. Almost entirely because fans were begging for it.

What annoys me the most, is there was a perfect solution to the main issue people had with marriage events just sitting there that the devs never actually used...

Princess/Prince Points!

The game already had a system where you could buy QoL or modifications to the game that broke the 4th wall. You could pay for a hurricane to draw closer or push it away. Why couldn't you pay to activate a specific town event that you needed as well?

I will stand by the fact that, alongside losing the 2D games entirely (both similarly to the Legend of Zelda series would have been way better) the greatest loss RF suffered following it's period of dormancy was random events. They should have just been purchasable with points if direly needed, and remained random.

I can't explain it but Leon is one of my favourite bachelors in a RF game I'm not attracted to in the slightest. It's not that he's not attractive, he is. But his style of teasing and his flirting do not appeal to me one bit. But he's a character I find fascinating and is a major part of my AU just because I like him so much. But I will literally never marry him past the one time I did for completion's sake.

I cannot see him and Frey in a relationship somehow (no hate to those who can). But like, in my head, he's her awful big brother who everyone else finds really hot but she just finds really annoying.

Everyone else looks at him and he's all flowing hair, beautiful eyes and a sultry gaze.

She looks at him and he just looks like this:

Idk if anyone else feels this way about Leon. But if you do let me know. And if I'm crazy also let me know.

Since Goatlings is dead now, here's all the ADs and HA Buddy Items I made in the hopes of getting on the site. Unfortunately, I never won an AD/HA contest, but I still had fun entering them.

To be honest, the thing I regret the most about Goatlings closing is not being able to win an AD contest once. (Below - the redesigns I did for my first time entering MM Fusion contest + the HA buddy I made for the redesigns)
