The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is Peter Jackson's concluding film of the trilogy of movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novel series. The movies are considered some of the last films to masterfully use practical effects and miniatures (some of which were referred to as "bigatures" because they were so large for miniatures), in combination with CGI and other modern VFX methods. Released in 2003, the movie is widely recognized as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, satisfyingly concluding the trilogy. The film received numerous accolades; at the 76th Academy Awards, it won all 11 awards for which it was nominated, including Best Picture, the first fantasy film ever to do so.
The score for the trilogy of films was composed by Howard Shore.
Fiddler on the Roof is a 1971 filmed version of the 1964 stage musical by the same name, which itself is based on Tevye and His Daughters by Sholem Aleichem. The storyline centers on Tevye, a poor Jewish milkman in early 20th-century Imperial Russia who is faced with the challenge of marrying off his five daughters amidst the growing tension in his shtetl.
With music originally by Jerry Bock, the score was adapted to film by John Williams.
