May 17, 2017. Wednesday“I listened to two 50ish men lifting weights at In Shape Gym. Pawns of the system, they talk of Social Security and security in general  and homicide if a divorce led to loss. One man was drowning in abuse and fear because Coke bought out Pepsi, who he worked for, and he might be back pushing a cart.

I heard nothing  about “I can make  miracles” which is what a homeless man had told me not long before. The homeless man could make birds appear in the sky.

I heard nothing about  “Let’s go down in flames and be proud. Let’s jump for freedom!”

All I heard was the docile, white noise of an energy sputtering off into lassitude and infirmity. To fizzle out. Unnoticed.
