Marie's Moodboard
Marie is one of the three small kittens in the Disney movie The Aristocats. As a kitten she is white and fluffy with bright blue eyes and a pink bow around her neck. Her personality is feisty, yet soft and romantic, often daydreaming of love and fighting with her brothers. She has two brothers, Toulouse (an orange kitten) and Berlioz (a black kitten), and the three of them share the same mother, a white cat named Duchess. They belong to the rich French aristocrat Madame Adelaide Bonfamille. One day, Madame Adelaide's butler learned that she planned to leave her inheritance to Duchess and the kittens, and became outraged. He catnapped them all, and abandoned them far away in a river, hoping they would either drown or never return. Luckily, they all survived, and even met an alley cat named Thomas O'Malley, who agreed to help them all get back home to Paris. Along the way they have many adventures, and meet many friends, until finally they make it home safely. Learning what he had done, Madame Adelaide fires the butler, and takes in Thomas since Duchess and her children seemed so attached to him. At the end of the film, they are one big happy family. Here in DC, Marie has no memories of her life as a kitten. Instead, she believes she was born and raised in DC by Duchess (and eventually adopted by Thomas) as an only child. While she has a vague memory of being kidnapped as a child, she has difficulty remembering any details. She dreams of one day going to Paris, as she believes she's never been. She has also pursued a career as a singer, writing her own songs and performing them at a distinguished club. She is a hopeless romantic, and hopes to one day become a famous pop star.
