hi! i was on hormone blockers for several months. they’re trash! they (well, gona- and decapeptyl) give you suicidal thoughts so frequently it’s not even called a side effect anymore. they cause chronic pain for duration of use, which is more severe if you have a pre-existing hormone condition such as pcos. they cause mental health problems, they can cause infertility and vaginal atrophy. death is a potential side effect. those are the “safe” hormone blockers, i’m not even touching on lupron and how fucking awful that is.

Conservative authors and old statistics are based off a point in time before the “trans phenomena” was thoroughly researched. Even today there are few labs and studies that conduct peer reviewable research. In fact, the most popular study from the 90′s conducted by Alice Dreger, a major proponent of conversion therapy, used predominantly cis gay children instead of trans identifying children in her study to conclude that being trans was a fad.

Trans people are more likely to face police brutality, so be careful with who youre getting your facts from, violence goes unreported, 20% become homeless, 50% face sexual violence, 1/8 have been evicted for being trans, 80% of trans students feel unsafe at school, 50% have faced physical abuse in school.

Remember my point about very loaded arguments? Youre essentially an american medication ad, anything can cause death, however, hormone blockers really dont though, you lying scumbag :) PLUS theyre helpful, but with all trans science, as ive said a thousand times, theres not enough research on trans kids. Sincerely, a person who was prescribed hormone blockers since before i came out as trans!
