Newest offering from Burnt Hickory. Atlanta's newest brewery.
If you're not hungry just look at the pictures and read a few lines in.
I sooo wish that I was in town to enjoy this. Fresh sticky nugs is one of my all time favorite hoppy beers. Plus, I've only tried two out of this amazing list. I'd be angry, but I'll be in Portland at the time!!
Ever wonder which style of beer goes in which type of glass? Here is a quick and easy visual reference/guide.
Brewing Now: Belgian White
Grains: White Wheat Malt, Flaked Wheat, Biscuit Malt
Extract: Liquid & Dry Wheat
Hops: Hallertauer
Yeast: White Labs Hefeweizen Ale
Looking to plan a summer trip that involves your love of craft beer. Well here you go... the top 10 beer destinations according to Yahoo!
Brewing Now: Bottling - Hefeweizen (4 Images)
Has the typical Hefeweizen color and smell, so should turn out nice after ten days of bottle conditioning. After taking the final gravity reading it looks like it's going to be 4.8 - 5.0% ABV which is a little high for a Hefe. Hopefully, it tones down on the alcohol in the next couple weeks.
Atlanta Beer Week just updated their site with a new design and count down to the event. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter and stay up to date on the information.
Yesterday MNB debuted their third brew to the Atlanta market with the Fu Manbrew. A Belgium style wit that has taken four years to develop. With temperatures in the 100's it's perfect timing.
This is the list of offerings from Friday. The Brick Store site alludes to more celebrations with "check back for upcoming events.." Since I missed Friday I'll be watching their site and will post if anything comes up.
Brewing Now: Summer Strawberry Blonde Ale
A collaborative brew with my buddy Todd when he was visiting Atlanta from Denver.
Thin at first, but after a few extra weeks of conditioning came out tasty. Light on hops, light on strawberry, but nice subtle undertones of both.
Two new brew tour companies are offering tours of local brewpubs and breweries.
If you and sidekick Barf save princess Vespa and collect a HUGE reward ... then and only then will one of these beers be worth the price tag. Yikes!!
I've had Goose Island's Matilda in Vegas, Honker's Ale in Chicago and IPA in Columbus. All very solid beers, so I am really glad to see these head my way!
Brewing Now: Bottling - American Pale Ale (4 Images)
Really looking forward to this one. Has a nice pale color, little heavy on the malty side, but a good hop profile at the start. Hopefully extra conditioning tones done the malt a bit to create a good balance. I am huge American Pie fan, so The Stifler Pale seems like an appropriate name for this one.
Hop Works Brewery introduces canning line.
Sierra Nevada reveals the line up in their Summer Camp variety pack. Sounds delicious. Now the only problem is finding one!
