anyway, moving during a housing crisis in my city has been a nightmare. one percent vacancy. only got the place we got because we knew someone and threw money at the guy.

 i’m going to try to pick at drafts and starters but i probably won’t be on the dash much, i have no energy and my queues are running all my blogs while i sleep.

she took a deep breath, then another one. all her memories started to roll inside her head as she tried to shook them away with peaceful thoughts, though she couldn’t drown them, it was too much; there he was, the other part of herself and the other part of him, sitting on the bench where they told her he would be. wanda knew he would hate her, after all, she wasn’t wise enough to nest him into a better life, but she was stubborn and stupid, and broke so easily. all she wanted was her family back, to grasp the ends of a life she didn’t deserve.

He should hate her.

He should, he knows he should, and on some level he wants to. The Scarlet Witch was the arbiter of his fate, she’d created him and sent him out into the world -- quite literally. Anger has always come easy to him when his parents wronged him. Mary and Frank had been easy to hate, their negligence had been bold and unapologetic. Intentional. Done out of sheer selfishness because they came first and Tommy was an afterthought, if he registered at all.

Wanda’s -- his real mother’s -- had been an accident. One son had gone to the storybook family who loved him for who and what he was whole-heartedly. The other had gone to the gutters, through the cracks and into a family and a world that didn’t really give a fuck where he went when their eyes weren’t on them. How could she know that? He knew why she’d done what she’d done, and he couldn’t hate her for it.

But, too afraid of her vanishing again, he couldn’t bring himself to look at her either. To get attached.
