How To Overcome Your Ego
Stop being offended Let go of the need to win Let go of the need to be right Let go of the need to be superior Let go of the need to have more Let go of identifying yourself by your achievements Let go of reputation

“Philosophy is different from science and from mathematics. Unlike science it doesn’t rely on experiments or observation, but only on thought. And unlike mathematics it has no formal methods of proof. It is done just by asking questions, arguing, trying out ideas and thinking of possible arguments against them, and wondering how our concepts really work.”
— Thomas Nagel, What Does It All Mean? (via philosophybits)
I like people with emotional and intellectual depth, speaking so passionately about everything they believe in is honestly so beautiful
“The solution of the riddle of life in space and time lies outside space and time. (It is certainly not the solution of any problems of natural science that is required).”

“Is”, “is.” “is"—the idiocy of the word haunts me. If it were abolished, human thought might begin to make sense. I don’t know what anything “is”; I only know how it seems to me at this moment.
