So this deep cut from my past came on at work the other day and all I could think was that, damn this is a Catradora song. Season 5 specifically but like it had me feeeeeelingggg some type of way y’all.

A lot of people are talking about how Catra got to grow and confront her abuse but damn what about Adora.

“You ruin people. You ruin any chance they have to be happy.”

I’m so proud of her. Like, “high functioning” (I hate this term), abuse victims always seem like they’re okay. They give all of themselves to others for love for approval, even though they’ve been taught to believe they aren’t worth it. They push down feelings and focus on tasks.

But, Adora, after saving Catra and getting to be with her and get to know her again started to believe maybe she could have that. Maybe she could love and be loved and it became more important than the fear she had of shadow weaver and her disapproval. Catra’s arc was amazing but Adora’s was sooooo good too.
