I remember hating myself a year ago. I hated how I was, I hated how I looked. While I still don’t think I’m perfect - far from great, actually - I’m much more at peace with myself and my appearance. I’m comfortable in my own skin now.

I can look in the mirror and think, “this is who I am”. Sure, I do acknowledge that there’s room for improvement, and I do make self-deprecating jokes from time to time, but most importantly, the toxic self-hatred is gone. Why judge myself based on how I look? The world is harsh, so why deal myself the first blow? People who judge you by your appearance are superficial and you’re better off without them anyway.

So to those struggling with self-esteem issues, it takes time, but I want you to know that it gets better. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
