Progress video of my Itch.io Nokia game jam #4 entry
Doing a proof of concept with rendering Dog Castle with WebGL, allowing for cool shaders like this (exaggerated) underwater effect.
This may be enough for a re-release with new levels, or if I can think of enough new mechanics, it could become Dog Castle 2
Here I am, posting stuff on tumblr again.
“Non Linear” - Gamedev
Game dev progress for my non-linear game idea. Rooms are generated just before you get to the doorway (which will have a door normally). All WebGL & Typescript.

Turbulence
Little procedural town.. with lots of redundant roads
The roads don’t go anywhere, but at least the colours are pretty
More procedural level generation, in amazing 3D!
Next up is some more work on coaxing it towards creating regular looking blocks, and less dead ends. I’ll probably add some more tile types too
The beginnings of a new procedural map generator, now with multi-tile blocks
I’ve finally released my game Dog Castle on Itch.io https://madcoretom.itch.io/dog-castle
I’ve also written a blog entry about it here http://play.madcoretom.com/wp2/wordpress/2019/07/24/dog-castle-released/
Working on some new bad guys
🔊 New music for my game. Now there’s 2 tracks so it’s slightly less repetitive
Trying out a new level select screen. What do you think?
I’ve made some more progress on the Dog Castle platformer. Now the dog collects human food instead of bones. Here’s a peak of the sprite sheet.
I’m planning to release it shortly on itch.io. I’ll post a link once I finalize the levels.
