it’s not like he wanted to hide it any longer than he did it’s only the choices he’d made at the time that prevented him from telling her sooner . “ least you’re bein’ honest , “ he spoke against her skin as she held him , and he didn’t didn’t blame her. it’s over though , he’d told her almost everything he could and even though there was still things she hadn’t seen or probably didn’t understand— it meant more now that they could be more upfront with each other . “ I’m holdin’ you to your word . “ he laughs . he didn’t really know the people maddy worked with , their first real - ish outing since being married he didn’t know why he felt kind of nervous . his head came up to look at her . “ I just wanna know is there like a dress code or some shit ? what type of event is it y’know you’re not really givin’ me many specifics . “ he pauses . “ but if you wanna dance for me I definitely won’t stop you . “
Maddy could feel how her own body vibrated a bit just by the sound of his voice against her skin. Honesty, mutual trust and respect were the only way this marriage was going to work. Smiling she continued on holding him against her. It was his laugh that made her smile a bit. She knew that Thumper didn’t laugh very much so the small times he did she cherished. She loved being the person he could just be at peace with. “If it’s as bad as you think it’ll be I’ll just make it up to you.” A small but wicked smile spread across her face, even if he couldn’t see it. “If you’re worried about having to wear a suit it’s not that kind of thing.” She wouldn’t have cared if it was, ruining the image of him on his wedding day wasn’t going to become commonplace with these small events. “I’m not giving you specifics because there aren’t really any.” She sighed letting her hands drop at her sides. “It’s just a way for the studio to get some fundraising money, a way for the sad people and kids that take the classes to show whether they’ve improved and it’s a way for them to show that the people that teach there actually can dance and aren’t like Abby Lee.” The reference probably wasn’t one that he would understand but she didn’t care. Fond smile she let her hand go back to him, unable to stop touching him. “I can dance for you whenever you want.”
