It was their first trip together as a couple. Although they had practically been inseparable before, he had made it clear from the very beginning that from the moment they were first together, his eyes had been fixed solely on her. His declaration had been met with the same intensity, as they had both committed exclusively to each other, seeing no one else outside of their relationship. This filled Tom with quiet satisfaction, knowing that Madelyn was experiencing the same feelings for him that he felt for her. Tom stepped off the small seaplane, squinting against the dazzling sun that bounced off the turquoise lagoon. He mentally mapped out the week ahead: lazy mornings on the deck with fresh tropical fruit and coconut water, snorkeling through coral gardens teeming with vibrant fish and stealing quiet moments in a hammock, letting time slip away while Madelyn rested her head on his chest. He could already picture their evenings: barefoot walks along the powdery beach, the sky painted with streaks of orange and pink, and long dinners in open-air restaurants where the scent of grilled seafood mingled with the ocean breeze.
By the time they settled into their bungalow, Tom was already planning the adventures they would share. He imagined a day cruising in a small boat to hidden coves, the two of them diving into secret lagoons where the water was so clear it felt like swimming in liquid glass, followed by a picnic on a deserted sandbar, Madelyn teasing him as he tried to catch tiny crabs. Another day would be spent hiking the lush interior of the island. He pictured evenings spent learning to cook local dishes together, tasting exotic fruits, and sipping freshly made cocktails as the sun dipped below the horizon. Tom leaned against the railing of their overwater bungalow, watching the sunlight dance across the lagoon, and felt a wave of contentment. He hasn't been this happy in a while, it felt as though his heart might leap right out of his chest. And he liked the feeling. He glanced at Madelyn, who was playfully dipping her toes into the water, and smiled. "So, where should we start our adventure first?" he asked, nudging her gently with his shoulder. "Breakfast on the deck, then snorkeling? I want to see all the fish before anyone else does." ( @madelynofinfamy )
the fact that this was their first trip as an official couple had madelyn feeling pretty excited, because she couldn't wait to explore all the places in bora bora together with her boyfriend. and she mostly only wanted to spend time with tom too, that much she made pretty clear to anyone that would listen and to tom himself because they both worked, and getting to spend time together without any interruptions was rare. it was no big surprise that she only had eyes for tom as well, it was pretty obvious to anyone that paid attention to her just how gone she was on her boyfriend and how he was the only guy she saw and would ever see, given how much she'd fallen for him. and it felt amazing knowing that he felt the same way for madelyn, that they were in this relationship together, and that they were on the same page, she couldn't be happier. the moment they had landed in bora bora, everything already felt so perfect, and madelyn would have been happy had they just crawled into bed once they got to their villa and stayed there with the view it had from the bedroom. though as she had looked around, she saw there was so much fun to be had and so much to be seen, and she couldn't wait to explore, but more importantly, she couldn't wait to explore with tom. and that's what she wanted more than anything, just to do everything with tom, to have all these moments and memories with him.
once they were settled, she had toyed with the idea of pulling tom into bed with her and staying there for a while. but tom seemed to be in his own world, and she just let him do his thing while she looked around and then went and focused on the water. because seriously, the water was gorgeous, and all she wanted to do was go back in and get into her bikini and dive right into the water. which is why she was dipping her toes into the water to see what the water temp was, and it was perfect. it was the perfect temp for a good swim, and she figured maybe that's what she would do right now, until tom looked at her and asked her a question, and of course she gave her boyfriend a smile. "it's funny you should bring up snorkeling, because i was just thinking about how i needed to go get my bikini on right now and dive into this water. so yes, baby, let's have breakfast on the deck first and then go snorkeling. we got to make sure you see the fish before anyone else does and all, get the best pictures too, right?" she said the last part teasingly and moved so she could press a kiss against tom's cheek before pulling back and looking at him. "what should we have for breakfast, though?"
