“Hello,” The former unicorn greeted the small human child, her memories of her life as a unicorn were becoming fuzzier by the day, but something about this child put Amalthea at ease, she was good and pure.

“I am Lady Amalthea, what’s your name?”

“Hello,” Adora smiled, giving the Lady a curtsy. “I’m Adora, Crown Princess Adora of Ulstead. It’s nice to meet you.” Curiosity flickered in her eyes like embers. She’d never seen someone so beautiful before, except for her mother, but her mother had been blessed by Faerie magic. “The stars are so lovely, aren’t they?”

She took a step further onto the balcony, needing a break from the party inside. The night air blowing her sunshine hair about her small shoulders. “My Grandmother had to stay home, but I promised her I’d look at the stars. She’s looking at them too, so in a way, it’s like we’re together.”

Grandmother, what was a grandmother?

Amalthea couldn’t recall if she ever had a grandmother, her mind was too foggy. Shaking her head the former unicorn smiled at the child, she truly was a beautiful child, and Amalthea wondered if she was touched by magic.

“That sounds nice, does your grandmother live far away?”
