Hiroyuki Imaishi X Odio 天元突破グレンラガン (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) c o l o r f u l Daicon V: Ginax Spirit (Virtual Retrospective) Note*week I wanted to show off the illustrations that Mr. Imaishi did for the FLCL light novel, but this week I wanted to focus on what many consider his best work that being Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. These images came from various artbooks that were published after the show’s production. I feel like Eva- Gurren Lagann holds a place in people’s hearts, and for good reason. Personally as a colorist I think that Imaishi’s work as well as Sushio’s work are far the most fun to work with. Where as some illustrators have a very conventional style that only allows you to do things by the numbers. Their style lends to a lot more creativity,Leaving more of a unique fingerprint on each piece. I always love when I get to do something using their line work.It is always fun and challenging. I hope you enjoy these works, and thank you as always for giving me a moment of your time. I appreciate you.
