Slow Killing (2024)

Synopsis: Fatema is a rookie journalist (I time-travelled 20 years back to get this leading role XD). She writes mysteries for a low-budget magazine that people use as trays for their food. One day, she receives an anonymous invitation in the mail for a free week stay at a haunted Victorian hotel that guests need to sign an Acknowledgement of Risk and Consent form before checking in. Being broke and almost out of a job, she doesn’t hesitate to inform her boss that she will finally write a story that will save their magazine from its depts... As she walks inside the hotel, she is welcomed by a tall, handsome, young man wearing a black slim fit suit with an alluring smile on his face. That’s when she knew, he is trouble.

completed Super Rich and gave it a 5 rating.

~ Pros ~ • Akaso Eiji: I’ve never seen a role I didn’t like but he never impressed me. This is his best performance so far! I was pleasantly surprised, especially towards the end. The way his character changed from total desperation to a reliable individual was a treat to witness. That scene when he snapped at his parents, I shouldn’t be happy about that 😂, I was shocked by how convincing & scary he looked. I want him to play an evil role next! • Machida Keita: Need I say more? Perfection as an actor. • Itagaki Mizuki: Loved him here. Each role he takes is different and I have never seen anything disappointing by him. Let’s rise to the top! • Matsushima Nanako: I had no idea she was part of the drama and I low-key wished she was the female lead :p ❤️

~ Cons ~ • Romance: The drama didn’t need any. • Failed to have a lasting effect. It’s a good plot but nothing special about it. • Lacked in conflicts! I’ve never watched problems get solved so easily. I didn’t feel anxious or worried at all.

completed Nihon Chinbotsu: Kibo no Hito and gave it a 9 rating.

Pros: • Eventful and engaging from start to end. • Shun & Kenichi brought joy to my heart and I was happy with their friendship and characters as individuals. • The sinking scenes were thrilling and scary. I’m impressed. • Side characters were all interesting with solid performances. • Namamura Anne and Watanabe Anne played their roles perfectly and had positive influence on the plot. As a female viewer, they made me feel proud 😄

Cons: • Some discussions were slightly boring.
