Introducing Ondarion and Tartosa, inspired by medieval Italy and Naples!
Ondarion was once the centre of the greatest empire of the ancient sim world, stretching from Willow Creek to Oasis Springs and beyond. But that time is long past. Now, the realm is fractured and monarch-less, a series of warring city-states where nobles vie for power.
Nothing represents how far they have fallen quite so much as the Palace of Ruins in Dambele, where once the emperors lived and now you can only find ghosts amidst the ruins. But legend holds that should Ondarion every be united once again, the Palace of Ruins could be rebuilt even grander than before. Is your sim up to the task?
Meanwhile, Tartosa is a still thriving, if small, kingdom, who rely on their alliances with other great kingdoms to protect their interests. The marriage of Infanta Isabella into the royal family of Willow Creek a generation ago may keep them safe for now, but with only daughters to succeed the throne, will Tartosa remain safe?
Because of the new pack, this release focuses a little more on noble families and gameplay opportunities than the previous versions, but both worlds still include households from every social level. Move your noble sims into one of two noble apartments or the Palace of Ruins itself in Ondarion, or your peasants can live in one of the empty farming cottages in Bellacorde, the empty farm in Tartosa, or one of the empty apartments in the Rome-inspired residential rental apartment building in Dambele.
(Yes the heir of Tartosa is Cassandra Goth's cousin - can you see a family resemblance?)
I've also updated every world from the previous versions to include dynasties and put everyone in the noble career as appropriate.
Besides Ondarion and Tartosa, you will find Oasis Springs (Crusader States), Willow Creek, Granite Falls, and Magnolia Promenade (Medieval France), Ravenwood (Slavic), Chestnut Ridge and Gibbi Point (Byzantine Empire), and Moonwood Mill (Central European).
More info and download links beneath the cut.
Each world comes with custom titles (except Moonwood Mill where I've not added any royalty). I've done my best to make them appropriate to the world's cultural inspirations, though please be aware that creating a strict hierarchy with so many unique titles is pretty difficult and more than a little suspension of disbelief is necessary if you're familiar with the real history. Sorry!
Unlike the previous versions, I have completely re-organised and re-uploaded the mods folder. This includes separating out the functional mods more likely to break from the CAS/BB CC which is most likely fine. You can find this monster zip file HERE (Google Drive).
If you download this version ('MMM Medieval Save Mods V4'), you DO NOT need to download the older versions' mods folders or the folder named 'Mods New V4'.
Please also consult the spreadsheet, which includes full credits, install instructions, and an overview of what is actually included in the Mods folder. You can find this HERE (Google Drive) or HERE (SFS).
If you already have everything from the previous versions downloaded and don't want to deal with re-installing everything, I have also uploaded just the new CC here (Google Drive). This is the folder named 'Mods New V4'.
Finally, you can find the actual save file HERE (Google Drive) or HERE (SFS).
A note about Blowtorch:
I have built this save file using Ingeli's Blowtorch. This is not a regular mod and is not included in the downloads, but I highly recommend you install it for the full experience. I have used the regular install for everything except for Ondarion, where I have used the mini version. You can find the download and info for this HERE.
Please see the excel spreadsheet for further details.
Thank you deeply, as always, to the amazing CC creators who have made this work possible. Once again, full credits can be found in the Excel Spreadsheet.
Everything is playtested, but please let me know if you experience any issues.
I would love to hear if you use the save file - please share your gameplay etc. with me!
Enjoy!

EDIT 10/06/2026: I've created an Install Instruction/FAQ document HERE with some clear instructions on how to install the save file, some trouble-shooting info, and some mods update info. Still feel free to come to me with any issues you're experiencing, but this document may help you solve the problem faster than I can answer your questions.
Some pictures from my fantasy save file in progress.
I've mostly made Fae so far, of various types, but I'm really excited for all the ideas I have. In Innisgreen, we're going to have competing Fae courts and a (mostly) human court - will the Fae unite to overthrow the humans or will the good Fae side with the humans against evil?
helloo, sorry to bother you but I downloaded the save and for some reason whenever I try to enter there's this popup showing error code:102 and that the game failed to load? do you have any idea what could be causing this?
Error 102 is usually a broken mod. I'm not positive which one it would be - the save was released several updates ago and I haven't played with it with a fully updated game. I would recommend using Scarlet's Realm's mod list checker and checking all the mods from the mod page of the Excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately it's just a hazard of a heavily modded game.
Of the mods in the save that I know have updated recently, LittlBowBub updated the Hunting & Foraging mod I believe, and Kuttoe's Home Regions has been updated.
There were a few problems caused by Marquillo's Small Business Overhaul last time I played and I've ended up removing it from my game - it wasn't anything fully gamebreaking, but it may be worth trying that one.
Brazen Lotus mods also have some minor issues that need updating, but that's been true for a while and to my knowledge they're not any more broken than before the recent updates.
If making sure everything on the mods page of the spreadsheet is up to date doesn't fix it, please let me know and I'm happy to help troubleshoot further.
Though my one true love is the medieval era and I have plenty of plans to continue working on my medieval save, I'm thinking of starting a second (likely much smaller - thinking about 4 worlds max) project for another time period.
What sort of time period would people be interested in?
Second save file time-period?
Renaissance/Tudor/very late medieval/very early modern
Regency era
Victorian
Antiquity
Just outright fantasy - no strict historical period
Other (please comment)

Also I may end up doing more than one of these eventually, so feel free to comment other ideas!
Edit: I've started building out CC folders and will definitely be doing more than one of these, and other eras like 1700s and Edwardian as well - so think of this as more a what should I do first?
My attempt at a sims recreation of the Glasgow Cathedral. It was built in the twelfth century and is one of the only medieval cathedrals in mainland Scotland to survive the Protestant Reformation intact.
The city of Glasgow began as a small town essentially around the cathedral and grew into a real city in the early modern and industrial eras, so I've gone with Henford for the build. Eventually (not any time soon!) I plan to turn Henford into medieval Scotland for my save file.
As you can see, the interior is 'inspired by' but definitely much less accurate lol.
More info, tray files, and CC list beneath the cut.
Did you know that pipe organs were invented (in a recognisable form) in like the 8th century?
This is a cemetery lot and the interior of the build is a functional medieval church with a catacomb in the basement. I've included a wedding aisle but not an arch, but there's space for one and you can easily add one in for weddings.
I've built it on the pub lot but I think there's more than one 30x20 lot in the area so you have some options.
Fairly limited CC in this one, so hopefully most people should have no problem with it!

Tray Files HERE (Google Drive) OR HERE (SFS)
Thanks to the CC creators (credits in the list above)!
Right ok this is not related to my medieval save file at all, but I've been playing the Origins Legacy for some modern gameplay and my sims literally just won the lottery for the first time ever?!
I've been playing this game for like ten fucking years and I've literally never had that happen, and this is actually the best save file for it. My Willow Creek is about to go from 1 1/2 community lots to a thriving town lol.
(And sorry, yes, I am still working on the V4 release and it should come out next week - I've just had a lot going on and needed something lower-stress lol)
Some photos of the Quercia noble family from Tartosa, haunted by grief (and actually haunted by ghosts).
Magdalena and Preietto were influential nobles, popular with both their fellow nobles and the common-folk they ruled over.
Magdalena was known for her elaborate balls, impeccable sense of style, and talent in the arts and music, while her husband Preietto was adventerous and charismatic.
Unfortunately, both died tragically young, following generations of the Quercia family before them and leaving behind only their little daughter Costança as their heir.
Costança was raised by her mother's nurse Isele and her paternal uncle and guardian Juanes.
Now a teen, she is one of the most elligiable young women in Tartosa, behind only the princess Elanora. Anyone who manages to snag this wealthy young bride would inherit a title and great wealth - but also a haunted, run-down manor. Is your sim up to the challenge?
Having acquired the new pack, I have been working to get all of my nobility into dynasties and the noble career, adding custom noble titles by world, etc.
But I've also been working on the new world as medieval Italy and have plans to turn Tartosa into Naples (for that Italian & Spanish influence together).
Would you be interested in an updated V3 with the nobles/titles and a WIP of Ondarion (I'm trying to just edit the existing famlies to maintain their family trees etc.) or should I hold off and release everything together once Tartosa and Ondarion are done?
Which would you prefer?
V3.5 (unfinished Ondarion, updated existing worlds for nobility/dynasties).
V4 (hold off for completed Tartosa and Ondarion)

Releasing V3.5 would happen this weekend but the prep work would slightly delay V4. V4 would be in a few weeks once I have everything polished off for it.
not an ask, but I just wanted to say that I discovered you today and I’m completely enamored by everything you make. I really appreciate your commitment to detail and historical accuracy as a simmer who wants my saves to be as historical as possible!
I absolutely LOVE your Byzantine worlds. it’s something I haven’t seen from anyone else, especially for medieval gameplay which is so focused on Western Europe.
I would so thrilled if you ever took on a project for the late medieval period/gothic era (12th-16th centuries). I would be doubly thrilled if you ever did a project for the Victorian Era (1820-1914)!!!!!
thank you for all your hard work !!! (*^▽^*)
Thank you so incredibly much, that's so sweet!
I'm especially pleased you like the Byzantine stuff, I've just finished my masters in Byzantine history and it is my greatest joy when people appreciate the beauty of the Byzantine world - it's such a tragically neglected period of history.
My plans for future releases of the save involve some more Western European stuff but also hopefully expanding outside of Europe and taking a shot at Tomarang, Sulani, and Mt Komorebi.
I'm definitely interested in some later medieval stuff and will probably get around to it at some point, I have so much gorgeous CC that I haven't been able to use yet! I've not thought about attempting anything Victorian before (I love that pre-industrial vibe and medieval history is my favourite) but I would be willing to look into it!
MadMythicalMonster's Medieval Save File V3 is here!
In this version, I've added four new worlds for your sims to explore. Ravenwood (inspired by Slavic worlds), Chestnut Ridge (inspired by the Byzantine Empire), Gibbi Point (inspired by medieval Greece as a part of the Byzantine Empire), and Moonwood Mill (a small village deep in the woods between Ravenwood and Windenburg).
(I unfortunately don't have any cool map overrides this time - if anyone knows of any with some medieval flare for these worlds, please let me know!)
As always, this version of the save file includes all previous worlds (Oasis Springs/Crusader States and Willow Creek (+Magnolia Promenade and Granite Falls)/medieval France). If you are downloading this save for the first time, make sure you grab the CC for EVERY version of the save file, as the new version does not include things already llisted in V1 & V2 (links for everything below).
This version of the save file brings a powerful empire, a world caught between the past and modernity, and a mystical, isolated town. There is intruige, political conflict, and plenty of opportunities for your sims to make a name for themselves. Read more and find download links beneath the cut!
This version of the save file introduces the Chestnut Ridge Empire and several worlds in its sphere of influence. When your save begins, Emperor Manuel Bryennios has just been poisoned, leaving his young son the sole heir to the empire. His wife Empress Eirene is now the head of their son's regency council - but could she be a suspect in her own husband's murder?
Other suspects include Eirene's father, who is now the most powerful man in the empire, Manuel's spirited sister Theodora, Eirene's lover (the captain of the guard, a mysterious man from distant lands), and powerful lord Nikephoros Notaras. Plus there's the rebellion in Gibbi Point - are the Dalessenos family simply taking advantage of the situation, or did they have a hand in the emperor's death?
Chestnut Ridge and Gibbi Point include four empty lots for your sims to move into (one large farm, one medium-sized farm, and two residential rentals), multiple parks and churches, a sports arena, taverns, and a market centre.
Meanwhile in Ravenwood, sims are caught between the past and present. Some sims have embraced modernity and the church the Chestnut Ridge Empire introduced a century ago, but others cling stubbornly to tradition. This has divided the land - neighbours, friends, and even the nobility are split between the old world and the new.
Ravenwood includes five open lots for your sims to move into (three residential rentals including a caravan in a traveler's camp, a farm, and a fisherman's cottage), a church, two taverns, and a seasonally changing marketplace.
Finally, Moonwood Mill is a tiny village deep in the forest - or what passes for one when you're so far from society. Their isolation has born a deep connection with nature - from embracing their beastly instincts to harnessing the magic of the woods.
Moonwood Mill includes a park, a vacation rental war camp, and a town centre with a tavern. I have filled out the two werewolf packs with appropriate medieval werewolves and added a witch deep in the woods for your sims to seek out for magical assistance.

General Mod Warning: Please make sure all mods you install are up-to-date for your current game version. CC (both Build/Buy and CAS) should generally be ok, but check everything listed on the Mod page of the CC spreadsheet please.
Note about CC/Mods: If you have already used V2 of my save, you only need to download the V3 files. If you have not used V2, please make sure you download the custom content/mods folders from V1 AND V2. These can be found HERE (V1) and HERE (V2)
NOTE: This save file is made using Simverse's/Ingeli's Blowtorch. This is not required but will remove all of the modern things from your world (and make sure my custom placed objects aren't overlapping anything).

Find the CC folder, save flle, and CC spreadsheet for V3 with full credits HERE (Google Drive).
Alternatively, you can find the save file and CC spreadsheet only HERE (SFS).
As always, thank you so, so much to the amazing CC creators whose work makes this all possible. Credits are included in the spreadsheet.
Let me know if you experience any issues.
Up next: stay tuned for my upcoming medieval legacy challenge, which takes the difficulty of the Ultimate Decades Challenge but lets you stay medieval forever!
Sorry I've been so absent on here, I've had a lot going on (my stress levels are so high) and was away from my computer over Christmas.
Despite that, I've made a lot of good progress on the save file! All three worlds for MMM V3 are complete, I just need to add some background sims to the world and prep my CC for release.
So a release date for V3 is in the near future! Definitely within the next month, possibly much sooner depending on how things work out.
After V3 releases, I'm probably going to take a break from working on the save file to actually spend some time playing the game. So V4 will happen eventually, but I probably won't decide on what worlds right away or anything.
My entry for @kerosims Crownlands Challenge tourney, a minor knight of the North, Ser Dorick Locke of Oldcastle.
Ser Dorick Locke may be a gifted knight, but he does not belong - not in Oldcastle with his noble cousins, with the woman he loves but cannot have, nor in the south, amongst the jovial knights who serve the Seven and the Targaryen kings. Nevertheless, he has joined their tourney to find their respect, to earn his name, and to crown his beloved sister Maren the Queen of Love and Beauty.
Raised in Oldcastle with his noble cousins and younger sister, he has displayed a talent for both book learning and the sword, but he does not belong. There is a great sadness in him, from the pox that took his parents and scarred his beloved sister Maren, from his knowledge that he will never be able to provide the security that his foster-sister and secret love Lady Rhona Manderly deserves.
So he has left Oldcastle and Rhona behind, and come to the Crownlands, where again he does not belong. He may not be able to earn happiness for himself, but the tourney provide him a place from which to join the history books.
He has brought with him only his sword, his horse Kiffor, who he has raised from a foal, and of course his sister Maren, who he will crown with an honour she fears no other man would give her.
Maren Locke, Dorick's younger sister and the only survivor of the pox that killed their parents. The pox has left her severely scarred, and though she longs for the sort of love from legends, she has not yet been granted a single suitor, with no great fortune to her name and her beauty marred. Though only sixteen, she has lost hope of any great love, and has turned her attentions to tonics and elixirs in the hopes of preventing others from suffering her and her parents' fates. She is her brother's greatest support and the love of his life, above even his forbidden lady love Rhona Manderly.
A peak into an early spring day with the Alieos family of Gibbi Point.
Life is busy for Thomais Pelekanina and her husband Bardas Alieos, spending their days looking after their four young children and subsistence farm, all while trying to eke out a living from the sea.
Bardas spends much of his day out on their small boat, catching the fish which keep their children in clothes and supplement their small farm's milk, eggs, and crops. Bardas' family has lived on this land for longer than anyone can remember, and they have always earned their living from the sea.
Though they know they are blessed to have all four of their children by their side, they eagerly look forward to the day that the eldest two, Stania and Petros, enter their teen years and can provide more help around the home.
Even young as they are, Stania and Petros still do their best to entertain trouble-making toddler Leonta and help out where they can.
With the farm at peace and the children abed for the night, Thomais and Bardas always manage to find a few moments for each other amidst the chaos. How else would they keep adding to their thriving brood?
The second in my series of Sims 4 recreations of renaissance paintings, with possibly my favourite renaissance portrait of all.
So, so hard to get the idea of the hair right with this one, but here's my sims recreation of Botticelli's Portrait of a Young Woman (Städel Museum). I've tried to get the idea of the ribbons with some ribbons from a completely different hair, which clipped on this hair in a way that sort of worked, so here we are!
If there's any specific portraits you would like to see, let me know! I'm having fun using my collection of renaissance/Tudor clothes which don't really work for my save file but have been filling up my mods folder lol.
Inspired by a friend and a class on women in the Italian renaissance, here's my attempt at a recreation of Ambrogio da Predis' portrait of Bianca Maria Sforza (National Gallery of Art).
I did another one (Botticelli's Portrait of Young Woman) but I am struggling so much with making the hair work, so I've held it back for now.
Since acquiring Adventure Awaits, I've been considering adding the new world as a second part of the Chestnut Ridge Empire. I don't have any other plans for the world at the moment, so it shouldn't detract from anything else, but I've not decided for sure to include it yet. I've made use of residential rentals, but Chestnut Ridge is not nearly as large as Willow Creek or Oasis Springs, and I would really like to include some more families. I like to include plenty of community lots, but the five I have at the moment have really limited my population.
Ravenwood is obviously included as a part of this release as well, but it is more under the Chestnut Ridge sphere of influence (the Byzantine Commonwealth) than a proper part of the empire.
Of course, Gibbi Point is a vastly different world than Chestnut Ridge, so I probably would not allow sims to move freely between the two. But given the Byzantine history of such a divide between Constatinople and the provinces, it could be fun to create additional political strife (besides the political murder-mystery I'm already setting up - but no more about that now!).
So...
Do I include Gibbi Point as a part of the Chestnut Ridge Empire?
Yes and allow free movement between them (with Home Regions & custom venues)
Yes but keep them physically separated (no free movement)
