Sam and Cait were to have an interview. The piece says that they were going to announce that they got married, and Ron Moore and everyone on the set and connected were aware. Ron and Albright prevented them from spilling the beans, and as we saw, Sam definitely looked mad. They had to start the lie that they were not a couple. What is really interesting is that the actor that played Willie in S1 (Finn Den Hertog) was fired for putting something on Facebook for commenting on S&C’s marriage. The email was taken down. I saw an email on his FB page indicating that he was fired for something he put on FB about 2 actors on the show. I hope that S&C can let the truth out since S8 has been announced as a, “go”, and the last. What does anyone think?

What bothers me is the fact that I have the feeling that Sam is turning into a marketing machine. There is so little left of the person I liked so much at the beginning of OL. Today, it's all about money, which is sad.

I think it's time to stop the hypocritical envy debate.

Most of us have to work for our money and probably the majority of us would not turn down a better job offer, which comes with a higher salary and ensures a better standard of living.

With a small but subtle difference: While I reliably get my salary every month - completely independent of the general conditions, my age, my appearance or whether my type is in demand - and only my annual bonus is influenced by my actual performance, an actor's earnings are always influenced by the consumer behavior of the fans and by the behavior of the film studios.

If you ask me if it's fair that a nurse works herself to death in shifts, with more and more patients and a lot of responsibility, for an income that's just enough to live on, while Julia Roberts gets 30 million for a movie, then my answer is no. But that's the fault of the system.

Personally, I think it's ridiculous to blame someone for using every opportunity to make money, as long as it's justifiable from a moral point of view!

I liked that person too, but it's easy to like someone on the screen and at interviews etc. where we only see their public side. What about the actors I don't like? Does that mean in real life they are horrible people, or is it the character they are in the moment and I am judging them on that. What I think a great many fans seem to be caught up in is seeing Sam as Jamie, and he said himself that he is nothing like Jamie. Sam has a precarious career in acting, many of his friends had to leave that dream bc they couldn’t support themselves and their families, I think it was James McAvoy who I heard saying that at any given time only 5% of actors are in work. Just bc Sam has expanded into business doesn’t make him any less likeable imo, in fact I find his work ethic admirable.

I agree with you harriethattie. Sam is being an entrepreneur, and I’m glad he’s not putting all his eggs in one basket. Who knows what the future will be. Quite a few actors are going into the liquor business, Ryan Reynolds and Matthew McConahey, to name a few. I do get bored with the marketing though.

An amazing performance…..Sam made it so realistic that it was almost too difficult to watch.  I felt I was in that horrible cell with him.

Sam’s performance was so incredibly realistic, I don’t re-watch it. He is such an amazing actor, and has not received the recognition for his talent. When interviewed about the rape scenes, he said after filming was completed he went and climbed Munros for three days. It was that dark and disturbing, and he had to emotionally and mentally recover from the experience. I read in another interview that he said he would not do a scene like that again.
