And even when she tries to snatch the book back, he always grabs another book to replace said book on his lap. There’s literally no winning here. Unless she whines enough. Or sometimes drags him out. Or the occasional threats (sometimes more than just threats) to set the books on fire.

“Oooor not. If this is one of your ploys to try to get me to read one of those boring things, it’s not working.”

She looks at the book that hits the ground with a soft thud and back to Ebon’s red and none-too-pleased face. Not that it really ever was anything other than that. Okay – maybe there was the really super elusive rare occasion… but that wasn’t the point. The look on his face might have been a little (maybe a lot) less pleased than usual. I mean, he was just hit in the face. With a book. Pretty hard. But in her defense he kind of did deserve it, but she’d be pretty unhappy about it too--

“Y-You were supposed to dodge that! Or, I don’t know – magic it to stop!”
