Summary: Donna is going to attend a family gathering and she needs a plus one. Dean will gladly take the role, but can he pretend to be her boyfriend?
A/N: I love D&D and I will go down with this ship. Very loosely inspired by episode 13x11 - Breakdown, where Dean pretends to be related to Donna. In one scene, he has a brief conversation with Doug about the Hanscum family reunion in Sioux Falls, saying it was “wild”.Yes, it was hehehe 😀 Plus, as in the episode, Donna and Doug break up because he’s not willing to join the “hunter’s life”.
I encourage you to read this fic even if you don’t ship Dean & Donna; maybe this couple will find a place in your heart? Feedback is always much appreciated <3

The Winchester brothers were reading in the bunker, each of them doing their own research, when Dean’s phone rang loudly. He checked the screen and saw Donna’s name written on it. Sam watched as his brother picked up the call. He hoped the sheriff was alright.
“Hey, D. What’s up?”, said Dean.
“Dean! Hi! Sorry for calling you so late! How are you doing?”, Donna replied, and Dean thought it was weird how high-pitched her voice was, as if she was nervous. Plus, her friendly manner was over the top. Dean knew her enthusiastic character, but something was off.
“No worries. I’m alright, how about you? Everything good?”
“Oh, yes! I just called to check how you and Sam are doing! I mean, that’s what friends do, right?”, her reply came in the same fake cheerfulness. Dean didn’t know if he should be worried or find it funny.
“Donna, we text all the time. You know we’re fine over here. And your voice sounds weird. Tell me what’s up”, he insisted.
Donna sighed loudly. “Ugh, fine, Winchester. Why can’t I never lie to you?”
Dean chuckled and Sam noticed the gleam on his eyes, something that was always there when his brother was talking to or about Donna. He shook his head, wishing Dean would come clean and confess his feelings for the sheriff soon.
“Guess I know you too well, Sheriff Hanscum. What’s the deal? How can I help?”
“So, I have this Hanscum family meeting in Sioux Falls… everybody is gonna be there. Aunties, cousins, nosy relatives… and I don’t wanna go alone…”
“What about Doug?”, Dean interrupted, wondering why would she go alone when Doug #2 was in the picture.
“We- we sorta got into a fight… Look, we broke up, okay? We were… it was not working”, she sighed again, exasperated. “I’m sorry, Dean, I shouldn’t have called… forget about it”.
“No, no, no, don’t hang up on me now, Donna”, Dean said, leaning forward on his chair, removing his feet from the table and placing them on the floor. “I’m sorry it didn’t work out with Doug”. He wasn’t sorry at all. He knew it was selfish, but the pang of jealousy he felt every time she mentioned Doug or when he saw them together was getting sharper and sharper by the day. “Tell me what you need me to do about your family gathering. Is there a ghost you want me to send back to where it belongs?”, he joked.
“Ugh, I wish it was as simple as a salt and burn, Dean-o. What-what I was gonna ask… shoot, I feel stupid… ‘Kay, I’m just gonna say it: everybody is expecting me to bring someone. As a good girl from a good family from Minnesota, I should be married and have like 5 children by now. So, I thought… well, I wanna be spared from the humiliation and the questions… Which is why I thought maybe you could come with me?”, her last sentence came out almost as a whisper. If the bunker was not so silent, Dean wouldn’t be able to understand it. He could bet she was cringing as she made the question. He found it cute.
“Hey, it’s not stupid. Families can be complicated. I don’t have any plans for the next few days anyway, so visiting you sounds like a good plan. Count me in. Where do we meet?”
“Really? Oh, thank you so much, Dean!”
“You bet, sweetheart”, he smiled, knowing that the way his stomach clenched with the perspective of seeing Donna could only mean he was falling for her. Hard.

Dean parked the Impala in front of the place where the family party was happening. Donna’s truck was there, so he knew he had the right address.
As he left the car, the instructions she gave him went through his mind. Apparently, the party was going to be cowboy themed, or something like that. She instructed him to wear his best plaid flannel and “keep the jeans and boots”. He was wearing a green and black plaid shirt that was half-decent, black jeans and his usual boots. Pretty close.
“I’m here”, he texted Donna, as he assessed the surroundings.
Dean stood in front of a little ranch with a big barn that was turned into a saloon for parties. From the parking lot, he could hear the music and laughter.
With his hands in his pockets, he waited by the fence. Two minutes later, he spotted Donna leaving the barn and walking in his direction.
Dean’s eyebrows raised when he saw the Sheriff. Her hair was loose, wild blonde curls waving with the light evening breeze. She was wearing a long, flowy, flowery red dress that stopped at her ankles, a pair of cowboy boots peeking from under it as she walked. A denim shirt, open and tied around her waist, sleeves folded to her elbows, complimented the look. She looked beautiful.
“Hi, Dean!”, she greeted happily, smiling at him as she approached.
“Hey!”, he answered, and they met halfway in a hug. “You look pretty”, he complimented.
She blushed, staring at her feet. “Why, thank you! But, I mean, you’re just saying that ‘cause you always see me in my Sheriff uniform…”
“You’re pretty in your uniform too, Donna”, he replied, staring at her intently.
The woman blushed even more, but didn’t avoid his stare. “That’s very nice of you. Should we go inside?”, she asked, hooking her arm around his elbow.
.
.
Once they entered the barn, Dean took Donna’s hand in his. She looked at him, surprised with the gesture, but she squeezed his hand back. Well, we do have to pretend we’re a couple, she thought.
As they walked between the round tables looking for their assigned seats, Dean could tell Donna was nervous, her palm was cold and she was looking everywhere, her eyes wider than normal.
“Hey, Donna, relax”, he leaned closer to whisper into her ear. “You got this. I got ya, sweetheart”, he reassured, watching as an old lady approached them.
“Donna! Aren’t you going to introduce me to your handsome boyfriend? Where are your manners, young lady?”, the woman said, extending her hand so Dean could shake it.
“Oh, s-sorry, auntie Gloria! This is Dean. Dean, auntie Gloria”, Donna said, smiling nervously.
“Nice to meet you, ma’am”, said Dean, using his polite tone.
“Nice to meet you, too, young man. You are very good looking! Finally, our Donna found a man worthy of her. Well done, dear”, the woman winked at Donna, taking a sip of the colorful drink she was holding.
Donna smiled awkwardly as the woman excused herself, after urging the couple to go grab drinks and wishing them a good party.
They thanked her and Dean waited until auntie Gloria was outside of ear’s reach.
“Well, she wasn’t so bad”, he commented, watching Donna stare at the woman’s back.
“Ohhh, she’s the nice one, Dean-o. Wait until you meet my mom and my dad’s sisters” Donna said, rolling her eyes and taking Dean’s hand, guiding him in the direction of the bar.
Donna ordered some beers and reached for the dollar bills in the breast pocket of her denim shirt.
“Oh, no, no”, Dean interrupted, stopping her. “What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t pay for my girl’s drinks?”, he said, loud enough that some people that were close by could hear him.
“You sure?”, Donna asked, the pretty rosy blush back to her cheeks.
“Of course I’m sure, sweetheart”, he said, leaning down and pecking her lips gently.
Donna was so shocked she went stiff. The kiss was very quick and tame, she didn’t even have time to reciprocate, but she felt the warmth of Dean’s lips well enough to leave hers tingling.
Smiling at her as if they kissed all the time, Dean got their beers from the counter and guided her to the table that had their names written on small folded papers.
Instead of sitting opposite to her, Dean sat on the chair by her side, placing one arm around her shoulders and pulling her chair closer in the process. He took a gulp of his beer and watched the dancefloor, again acting as if they did this every day.
Flushed, Donna took a deep breath. She felt bad for making him pretend. What if he was putting that much effort into the lie when he actually didn’t want to?
“Dean, thanks for paying for my beer, but you don’t have to, you know, kiss me and stuff. It’s ok, we can just hold hands and it should be enough-”
“Donna”, he interrupted, green eyes now watching her, “You’re not forcing me to do this. I came here today because I wanted to help you. ‘Sides, if we’re gonna do this pretending thing, let’s do it right. I’m not gonna let your family think I’m some asshole who doesn’t treat you the way you deserve to be treated. I’m gonna do it as I would if you were really my girlfriend. I hope this is fine for you”, he finished, once more taking her hand in his and placing it on his knee, locking their fingers together.
Donna’s heart was racing in her chest. The feeling of Dean’s big, warm hand holding hers was giving her confidence to face her annoying family. Still, she was nervous because her lips were still tingling where his had touched. What if she ended up saying too much and confessing feelings she wasn’t ready to confess? She just took a deep breath and answered “Yeah, it’s fine. Thanks, Dean”.
.
.
A few hours and many beers later, the moment Donna was dreading since she heard about the party came. Her mom was there. Mrs. Hanscum was a nurse, and her arrival was delayed by a late shift at the local hospital. Donna’s mom loved being the center of attention, and an impactful entrance after all the family was already there would make her as happy as she could be.
After meeting Trudy Hanscum, Dean had to agree that she couldn’t be more different than her daughter.
Dean noticed that, while Donna’s smile had the power to light up an entire room, her mom’s was cold and never reached her eyes. While the sheriff was always gentle and the sweetest soul he’s ever met, treating everybody with kindness, her mother acted like she was Queen Elizabeth or some shit. Dressed in tight clothes that looked uncomfortable and heels as high as possible, she walked the room nodding at people like some Miss Universe, without stopping to greet anyone specifically. It was only when she saw Donna that Dean noticed she was searching the room to find her daughter from the moment she stepped inside the barn.
As she spotted them, Trudy walked straight in their direction, and the strong scent of her too sweet perfume reached their table when she was still ten feet away.
“Donna, my dear. I was hoping you would’ve straightened your hair for today”, was Mrs. Hanscum’s greeting as they got up.
“Hello to you too, mom”, Donna said with a forced smile that Dean never saw her direct to anyone before.
“Hm”, the older woman murmured, her eyes going to Dean, looking at him from head to toe. “And who’s this young man?”, she asked in a voice that Dean supposed should be warm, but sounded fake.
“This is my boyfriend Dean, mom. Dean, this is Trudy, my lovely mother”, Donna introduced them, clearly unpleased.
“Happy to meet you, ma’am” Dean shook Trudy’s hand, bothered with how uncomfortable Donna was around her mom.
“Uh-huh”, was the woman’s answer, her eyes never stopping assessing Dean. “What do you do for a living, Dean?”, she questioned, pulling a chair to sit next to them.
“Mom, that’s your first question? Really?”, Donna reprimanded, blushing.
“It’s ok, D”, Dean said, sitting back on his chair and squeezing Donna’s hand in reassurance. “Private security, ma’am. I work with my brother. Family business, you know?” he explained, smiling.
“I see. So that’s how you’ve met my daughter, right? You see, I wanted her to be in a more… feminine profession, like primary school teacher, or working in one of those boutiques in the city, anywhere she could dress up, take better care of her appearance, not wearing that horrid uniform. But she thought she could save the world since she was a little girl. Always so naive-”
“Mom, can you stop being rude?”, Donna said in a barely audible voice, blushing so hard that the redness reached her scalp.
Dean was fuming, but he knew how to deal with unpleasant people like Trudy.
“Well, pardon me, ma’am, but I think you should be very proud your daughter chose to be a police officer. I mean, she’s so good at what she does that she’s already a Sheriff at such a young age! Plus, Donna’s a beautiful woman, no matter what she wears or what she does with her hair. Oh, and she is saving the world, you know? Not only by working for the police, but by being the most amazing, caring, gentle woman I’ve ever met. Maybe she could teach you a thing or two”. He raised from his chair, turning to Donna and extending his hand. “Now, if you excuse us, I’m gonna take my gorgeous girlfriend for a drink and then to the dance floor. Have a nice evening, Mrs. Hanscum”. Dean nodded in her direction, one arm circling Donna’s waist when she stood up and guiding her past a shocked Trudy.
They went straight to the bar without exchanging a word. Dean kept a warm hand around her waist, guiding and reassuring.
At the bar, Dean ordered two shots of tequila and two more beers. He pushed the tequila in Donna’s direction and watched her face while she downed the burning liquid. She grimaced and their eyes met. Donna looked stunned.
“I’m sorry, but your mom is a bitch”, Dean stated, and his brutal honesty made Donna cover her mouth to prevent herself from laughing too loud. She felt like crying a second ago, but Dean’s unexpected statement changed her mood.
“She really is. I’m so sorry, Dean! I’m so embarrassed you had to witness that!”, she covered her face with both hands, exasperated.
“Hey, you have nothing to be embarrassed about”, he reassured, holding her hands and pulling them away so he could look into her eyes. “Your mom should be ashamed of herself, not you”, he affirmed, smiling and approaching to give her a kiss on the forehead, followed by a hug she gladly accepted, Dean’s warm and strong body again making her feel safe.
He gave her another kiss, this time on the top of her head and held her for a minute more. She felt soft against him, the smell of her shampoo calming his restless mind.
“Also, thank you for the things you said about me, Dean”, Donna said, looking up to stare into his eyes. “That was very nice of you”, she smiled, bright white teeth catching the lights of the barn. Dean promised himself he would do anything to see her smile like that.
“I only told her the truth. Now, should we dance? I think this is the perfect tune to show your family how much we are in love with each other”, Dean said, and Donna’s heart skipped several beats. It’s just pretending, she reminded herself. He’s a good friend, that’s all.
But she nodded in agreement and took his hand, letting him guide her to the dancefloor anyway, because the numerous beers and the shot of tequila were making her feel lightheaded. Besides, she loved to dance.
Dean’s arms circled her waist and he pulled her body closer to his. She joined her hands behind his neck, looking into his green eyes while they moved to the sound of “She Brings Me Love”, by Bad Company.
Donna smiled at him, admiring Dean’s perfect features. “Thanks, Dean-o. For being here and for being so understanding of my momma’s awful manners”, she said honestly.
He shook his head and reached for her face, tucking a stray curl behind her ear. “You don’t have to thank me. That’s what friends are for”, Dean winked. See? Friends, said the voice in Donna’s head.
Dean looked over the top of her head for a second.
“Oh, and don’t look now, but there’s an old lady that can’t keep her eyes off of us. She’s over there with one of those mean cousins of yours. 9 o’clock”, he warned, and gently swirled her, changing positions so Donna could check who Dean was talking about.
Donna chuckled when she saw he was referring to her aunt JoAnne. “That’s auntie JoAnne. She’s awful. The old dude sitting next to her is her fifth husband. All the other four are dead, and some people say they all died because she’s so mean”.
Dean’s eyes widened at the story.
Donna shrugged at his expression, grimacing. “She’s the worst when it comes to me not being married. She always finds a way to bring up the subject and make me feel a complete failure”, the blonde explained, and Dean felt angry at the old woman for making someone as good as Donna feel bad about herself.
He tsked and shook his head, gently placing a hand under her chin, lifting her head so she would look into his eyes. “They’re all wrong about you, Donna. Don’t let those sad people make your life miserable. You have to know you’re much better than any of them”, he reassured, and she smiled in appreciation, her brown eyes glistened with emotion.
Turning his head around briefly, Dean saw that auntie JoAnne was still staring. On the other side of the room, Donna’s mom was doing the same. Glad he had the attention of them both, he stopped moving his feet on the dancefloor, placed his hands on each side of Donna’s face and gave her a kiss. It was nothing like the previous one at the bar. This wasn’t a peck on the lips. It was a full kiss, an open mouthed one, worthy of the best romances of Hollywood.
Taking advantage of the booze-induced boldness, Donna reciprocated the kiss with the same eagerness. Her tongue met his and she tasted his mouth, the beer and tequila not strong enough to overpower his unique taste.
She moaned as he explored her mouth thoroughly, now completely mindless of who was watching them. In his head, Dean thought kissing Donna was even better than he could ever have imagined. He didn’t want it to end.
When they parted for air, Dean had to remind himself that the goal was to put on a show for the two unpleasant old ladies. He got lost in the way that Donna so eagerly responded to the kiss, and his senses were overwhelmed with the feeling of her, her taste on his tongue as sweet as the best damn pie he’d ever had.
Donna’s cheeks were flushed. Her stare was switching between his eyes and his mouth, wanting him to kiss her again and working on the courage to take the first step herself. She’d never been kissed like that. Too bad it was only pretending.
“That was…”, Dean started, making Donna’s brain go back to functioning. “I hope it was not too much, Donna, I was just-”
“No. No, it wasn’t too much. I mean, yeah, it was a lot, but not in a bad way!”, she added when his eyebrows furrowed. “It was… it was really good. Is that what you were going to say?”, she asked, a little afraid of the answer.
“Yeah. I mean, the word I was gonna use was ‘awesome’, but I can take ‘really good’ too”, he chuckled, running his thumb across her rosy lips without thinking. “I’m just trying to do what I would if you were really mine”, Dean explained, watching her, palm splayed against her cheek, and Donna felt her heart skip more beats. She leaned onto his touch, closing her eyes for a brief moment.
“You’re doing a great job”, she complimented, and they both laughed.
“Tell me if I cross the line”, he added, arms tightening around her waist.
“Yeah. I will”, Donna replied, her body glued to his, swaying to the rhythm of the song.
.
.
The rest of the night went more or less as it had started. During one of the breaks Dean and Donna did to eat, he decided to ask about Doug.
“So”, Dean started, after swallowing a big bite of the pork ribs he had been munching, “wanna share what happened between you and Doug?”
“Hmm”, started Donna, squinting as if considering what to say. “I wasn’t gonna say anything because I know you’re gonna hate Doug after that, but-”.
“Did he hurt you?”, interrupted Dean, leaning forward and dropping the rib on his plate.
“No. I mean, just my feelings”, Donna shrugged. “I told him about hunting, Dean. Well, I had to. But that’s another story. The thing is, he freaked out and said he could never be a hunter, or be in a relationship with one, for that matter”. She concluded, watching Dean intently for his reaction.
“Wow. What a jerk. Did he ask you to quit hunting?”, Dean questioned, his disregard for Doug growing by the minute.
“He did. I told him we needed good cops like him to fight on our side, and he said I should just quit and ‘live like a normal person’”, she air-quoted, wrinkling her nose in dismissal. “So, yeah, we broke up”.
“Well, his loss”, Dean stated, smiling suggestively.
“I know, right? I’m gonna have to start dating hunters now”, she shrugged again and sighed exaggeratedly, staring at Dean.
“I don’t think that’s gonna be too difficult for you”, he shot back, winking at her, green eyes full of charm. “Wanna dance?”
.
.
And they danced, indeed. And drank. A lot.
Neither could deny they were having fun. The couple danced to slow songs, country songs, rock ballads, everything. Donna had already taken off her denim shirt, the thin straps of her dress falling off her shoulders, while Dean had the sleeves of his plaid flannel rolled up to his elbows. Both of their foreheads were glistening with sweat, Donna’s long hair sticking to her back, but they didn’t want to stop.
One song ended and Donna’s uncle Ted interrupted the music for a second to use the microphone and tell someone to take their car out of the no parking spot they had left it. Dean used the break to go to the bar and order two whiskeys for him and Donna. When the next song started, he was already heading back to the dance floor, where Donna was gesturing at him excitedly, urging him to be fast.
“I wanna dance this one with ya”, she explained, taking one of the glasses from his hands. The song was a romantic 80s ballad. Instead of standing in front of the blonde, Dean went behind Donna, grabbing her waist and glueing his chest against her back. He pushed her hair over her left shoulder, leaving the right one free for him to rest his chin and placing a kiss to her exposed neck, his stubble prickling the sensitive area.
Donna felt her nipples harden with the feeling of having Dean so close. A shiver went down her spine as all she could think was please, God, let it be real. She felt his belt buckle against the small of her back, and she raised the hand that was not holding the glass to pull his head back down and give him a kiss.
At this point, it was not just pretending for her anymore. As they swayed to the beat of the slow, sensual song, she didn’t know what was real and what was acting. Donna knew she wasn’t this good at pretending, but she was afraid Dean might be. He was used to disguises and being undercover anyways. She prayed that was not the case, because that handsome, smart, sexy man was everything she wanted and never had the courage to ask. If there was the slightest chance of him being into her as well, she’d take it.
In his turn, Dean was fighting against the reactions of his body. He was a red blooded man with a high sex drive afterall, and to have that curvy, beautiful, funny and brave woman in his arms was proving to be more than he could take. It didn’t matter how much pretending he agreed on doing; the way her smell was intoxicating him, the way her ass was moving dangerously close to his crotch was making him feel things that were way too real. He took the last gulp of his whiskey, hoping that the burn of the drink in his throat would put some sense back into his foggy brain.
It didn’t work.
Donna started moving even closer to him, running a hand through her hair while the other raised one side of her dress to free the movement of her legs, her drink long forgotten on a table nearby. It took him a second to also put down his glass and hold her waist with one hand, putting the other on the back of her delicate neck. She held her hair up to give him access and he took it, placing another open mouthed kiss on her sweaty skin, watching the goosebumps forming where his lips touched.
“Donna…”, he started, unable to restrain himself and the uncomfortable tightness in front of his jeans.
“It’s warm here, I wanna go outside for some fresh air. Would you care to grab me a beer and join?”, she asked, interrupting whatever Dean was gonna say, a playful smile giving away her intentions.
The woman didn’t wait for an answer and started walking in the direction of the door. As quickly as he could, Dean grabbed two more beers, throwing the money on the bar counter before the bartender could say anything and following Donna’s lead.
.
.
It was dark outside but, thankfully, the lights of the parking lot kept the visibility in the barn’s surrounding area. Dean found Donna in the alley behind the saloon, sitting on a pile of wooden boxes. She blushed and bit her lower lip when he approached.
He left the beers on top of a barrel nearby and stood in front of her, slotting his hips between her legs. Perched up on those boxes, Donna was the same height as Dean.
They stared at each other for two seconds and she was going to say something, but he didn’t give her enough time, pushing her against the wall and kissing her wantonly, holding her chin and prying her lips open. She moaned and threw her arms around his shoulders, feeling the hard planes of his strong arms.
Dean sneaked one hand under her long dress, fingers digging into the supple flesh of her thick thighs, as Donna started to unbuckle his belt and unbutton his jeans, her small hand massaging his half-hard cock through his boxers.
“Fuck, D, you sure?”, Dean asked, drunk with whiskey and lust.
“Never been more sure. Just tell me you have a condom”, she asked, lips teasingly brushing over his.
He cursed under his breath, blindly reaching for the wallet in his back pocket and grabbing one of two condoms he kept there. He knew better than to thank God for that, but he did appreciate the universe of whatever for making him put those condoms there only a couple of days ago.
Donna took the foiled package from his hand and proceeded to roll the condom on his now fully erected cock. She was too eager to have him inside her, otherwise she would’ve commented something about his impressive girth.
At the same time, Dean had pulled down the strap of her dress, freeing one breast from its confines. The way she filled his large hand made his mouth water, and he leaned down to lick her pebbled nipple, making her moan against his neck.
As she finished putting the condom on him, he reached for her soaked panties and pulled them to the side. Pushing two fingers inside her, he found her wet and slick, scissoring her open, making her gasp with the stretch.
“You’re so wet, sweetheart. Lemme make sure you’re ready, ‘kay?”, he said, proceeding to kiss her, swallowing her wanton moans.
“Just fuck me already, Dean”, she whined, nails digging into the muscles of his back.
“I don’t wanna hurt you. You think you can take me?”, he hissed when she wrapped her fingers around his rock hard dick as a reply, guiding him to where she needed him the most.
Dean penetrated her slowly, eyes glued to where they were joined, one hand keeping her dress bunched around her waist as he watched his length disappear inside her warmth until he was buried to the hilt.
“Oh, fuck”, Donna cursed through her teeth, the stretch to accommodate him making her go crazy, as if he was going to rip her into two in the best possible way.
Since they weren’t at the most comfortable place to have sex, Dean snapped his hips forward a few times, slow but hard, rolling them until he found the spot that made her gasp audibly.
“This is the place, right, sweetheart? I can feel you clenching around me, Donna, Jesus Christ”, he whispered against her lips, thrusting forward again, making her moan louder. He covered her mouth with his, swallowing her next sounds, caressing her breast with one hand as he guided her hips with the other. She had found her way under his shirt, her fingertips feeling the tiny scars over his belly and chest.
The stretch was just too much, but she wanted to take him deeper. She placed a hand on his jaw, silently asking him to stop for a moment, a gesture he immediately understood, keeping himself inside of her but halting his movements. Donna adjusted her position, crossing her ankles behind his back, spreading herself more for him, knowing that the new angle would make it easier for Dean to hit her g-spot with every stroke of his cock.
“God, Donna, I wish I could see you. I wanna see all of you, baby”, he said, gently biting her neck, running a hand along the length of her thick, soft thighs.
“I wanna see you too, Dean. You feel- Oh, I’m so close”.
She sneaked one hand under her dress to massage her clit, but Dean pushed her out of the way and did it himself, circling the little nub with his thick, calloused fingers, making Donna completely lose the ability to speak or even keep her eyes open.
“Dean…”, she murmured between ragged breaths.
“I know, baby girl. I can feel you. You feel amazing. Just let go”, he instructed, breathless, and his words were enough to drive her over the edge. Donna’s grip around Dean got tighter, and he cursed against her mouth, pushing deep inside her a handful of times while she came. Not long after, he was cumming in the condom.
He searched for her mouth and kissed her again, prying her lips apart and meeting her tongue with his. Their kiss was hot and wet while they were still connected, feeling the shaking and pulling of their mutual orgasm.
Dean kissed her until their breaths slowly went back to normal, then dragging his mouth to the side of her neck and pulling the skin lightly with his front teeth, just to soothe it right after with a suck of his plump lips. He discovered he had a thing about tasting the saltness of her, where her scent was so prominent. Donna kept her legs around his hips and her arms around his neck, the feel of his stubble making her shiver more than the slightly cool air of the night.
He gently removed his now soft cock from her, taking off the condom and throwing it on a trash can nearby. Dean picked her up to help her get off of the pile of boxes, adjusting the back of her dress after she raised her arms to reach for the neck of his shirt.
As they both looked half-decent, Donna backed up against the nearest wall and stared at Dean, smirking and blushing violently.
“That was… that was incredible, Dean”, she said, looking down at her feet, shyly.
Dean found it adorable that she was shy around him after what they just did. Taking two steps to stand in front of her, he placed one hand against the wall, caging her. Donna raised her head and reached for his lips, giving him a kiss that was sensual and promising, as if she wanted to say that that was not the last one.
“Next time”, Dean started, stopping her once more before they entered the barn, “I wanna take my time with you. I wanna see you, see how many times I can make you cum”, he whispered, lips dangerously close to her ear. He pushed her hair back, hand on the side of her neck as he looked into her dark brown eyes. She looked effortlessly beautiful under the dim lights of the parking lot. Dean meant every word he said.
.
.
The family party was over not long after their “sexcapade”, and Donna and Dean decided it was time to call it a night when Sam texted saying they had a case and he needed his brother back in Kansas. Even though they were both already sobering up, Donna would never let Dean drive after the amount of alcohol they consumed, so they agreed on walking to a diner down the road, having some food, coffee, and drinking copious amounts of water.
“I do have a couple of aspirins in my purse as well, so you’re definitely taking one”, Donna stated as they waited for their breakfast to arrive. Dean didn’t deny. She wasn’t asking anyways.
After eating and feeling like they wouldn’t throw up like teenagers experiencing their first hangover, they walked back to the barn, and Dean insisted on driving Donna home.
“But my truck is here, Dean”, she tried to argue.
“Doesn’t matter. You’re tired and your place is on my way back. You can get your car later. ‘Sides, what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t drive you home after we spent the night together?”, he smugly winked at her, already opening the passenger door of the Impala. Donna blushed and shook her head, smiling.
.
.
When Dean parked in front of Donna’s place and turned off Baby’s engine, he didn’t really want to leave.
“Can’t you stay for a little longer?”, she asked, as if reading his mind.
The way she was looking at him almost made him say yes, but he had to go. Sam needed his help with the hunt.
“I can’t, sweetheart. I wish I could, but Sammy needs me. Duty calls”, he answered, caressing her face.
Donna understood it, of course. She nodded and watched him for a moment, admiring the fact that he still looked like the most handsome man she’s ever seen after the crazy night they had. If he could stay, she was 90% sure they would end up having sex again. You could cut the tension in that car with a knife.
“That was an amazing night, Dean-o. I could never imagine asking you to pretend to be my boyfriend would lead to… that”, she snorted, remembering how much fun they had.
“Tell me about it. It was wild. I partied as if I was in my 20s again. I hope your aspirin acts fast”, he joked, chuckling back at Donna. “Thank you for… everything, D. You’re awesome”, he leaned over to give her a final kiss, followed by a hug where he tried to memorize the way her soft body felt, to engrave her scent into his brain. She reciprocated, running her nails through the short hairs at the nape of his neck, melting in the comfort and protection of his strong arms around her.
When they finally parted, Donna opened the door of the car and started to move, but Dean made her stop, grabbing her wrist.
“Donna, wait. I just wanna say… I- I can be more than a quick drunk fuck in an alley. I wanna be- I wanna be more than that for you, if you let me. I think you deserve more. Hell, you deserve much more than what I can ever offer. But I wanna be there when you need someone to remind you that your mom's wrong. That she should be so very proud of you. That you're so beautiful, inside and - damn if I don't know - on the outside too. So, yeah. If you want me, I'll do my best to be more. Better. For you”.
If she had a knot forming in her throat before just by having to say goodbye, now she had literal tears in her eyes.
“I want you exactly for who you are, Dean. I know what you have to offer, and I wouldn’t have you any other way”, Donna replied, voice thick with emotion as she went back inside the car and into his arms.
“Then let’s do it. I want you, D. So bad. I’m gonna be back and show you just how much. Let’s figure this - us - out together. Will you wait for me?”. He knew it wasn’t fair to ask, but he had to. He couldn’t leave without knowing.
“I’m already waiting. It is a promise”.

This is a bad idea, John thought seconds before the condo door swung open, and he was left fumbling excuses for appearing on her doorstep.

This was fun and strangely nostalgic (I haven't looked at most of these in at least a year!) Tagging: @seariderfalcon @peridotbelle @glowelle + anyone reading this 🙂
you always wait up -- a c.c. babcock/niles slow-burn spanning 1986–1996
i rewatched The Nanny recently and became possessed by the idea that c.c. and niles are not actually a comic relief side pairing, but two profoundly lonely people who accidentally build a life around each other over years before either is brave enough to call it love.
features:
late-night kitchen chats
peonies from the saturday market
emotional repression
grief
old-money c.c. babcock
niles being catastrophically in love
middle-aged yearning
enough unresolved sexual tension to qualify as a public health hazard
It's almost impossible not to fall in love with the dynamic between these two. It's irresistible. Of course, nowadays, and even back then, some things wouldn't be so well-received, but what can you do? These little schemes were what made CC and Niles who they were: an impeccable duo!
Code Black (and Ethan and Leanne) has been something I've been a little obsessed with ever since I first heard about it (like two years ago). The show is so cool and they, Leanne, Ethan and the whole story with Ariel It's such great material for fanfiction and shipping, and I can't understand why it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
