Welcome to my humble blog, I’m maea-megs or just Maea. I’m Bi-romantic, Demiromantic and Genderfluid ( pronouns are She/her/hers AND They/them/theirs)

I’m 24, I’m chronically disabled with Hypermobile “type” Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome, suspected mast cell activation syndrome (alongside some other stuff lol) and I have chronic migraines and a chronic scapula displacement injury. I also am on the Autism spectrum (I think it’s the combo of Autism and ADHD- AuHD), sensory diffuclties, Dyspraxia and I highly suspect Dyscalculia ( the math and numbers one). I AM FROM AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿

Aside from that, I’m a multi fandom girlie. Some of my fandoms include Free! (All series included), Steven Universe (+ Steven Universe future, and the movie), Winx Club (Seasons 1 through to 4 1/2) and some more that I can’t think of right now off the top of my head lol. I’m an artist and a writer, when I get the time to be creative that is. I have special Interests in languages, I’m a moderate-beginner in French (Français), I’m currently studying Greek and I can read it pretty well (and understand it well too), I have minimal knowledge of Japanese, please don’t judge lol.

I am a gamer, my comfort games include Miitopia, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Minecraft. My current projects are The Adventures of Faeries: The Saga Begins (aka TAoF: TSB), 1890- A Gem story ( I don’t have a more creative name for it, it’s just titled that because I originally planned it to be set in 1890, things changed 🤣).

I AM PROUDLY A GOTH AND WHIMSY-GOTH BITCH!! I’m a witch and my familiar is my furry son, Richie the black cat. I adore 70’s and 80’s music (From Tears for Fears to Ultravox/Midge Ure to Simple Minds to David Bowie, Elton John, my ultimate favourite George Michael, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Erasure and of COURSE; The Cure). I am a Steampunker, I dabble in Cosplay and I like to show my Pirate heritage by dressing up as one every so often hehe.

Why Faeries? I’ve always loved them since I was a little potato ( thank you for your service Barbie Fairytopia, and then subsequently Winx Club). Why Mermaids? The little Mermaid ( 1989) end of story lol. What about gemstones? My grandfather was a “Rockhound” and gemstone polisher, he passed down everything to me (see also; Steven Universe). Free! ? I’m (technically a former) swimmer and there are a few characters I relate to ( Looking at you Sōsuke 👀).

It’s genuinely so gross how common the phenomenon of dark skinned characters being whitewashed in order to be depicted as soft/innocent/feminine is.

People with low spoons, someone just recommended this cookbook to me, so I thought I'd pass it on.

I always look at cookbooks for people who have no energy/time to do elaborate meal preparations, and roll my eyes. Like, you want me to stay on my feet for long enough to prepare 15 different ingredients from scratch, and use 5 different pots and pans, when I have chronic fatigue and no dishwasher?

These people seem to get it, though. It's very simple in places. It's basically the cookbook for people who think, 'I'm really bored of those same five low-spoons meals I eat, but I can't think of anything else to cook that won't exhaust me'.
