Maeryn Archer blinked and flicked her ears up a little more. âWhat a wonderful way to end such an interesting career! Comfort and hospitality.â She looked to the bottle and gave a nod. âPlease.â She considered it further. âWhat are your goals, Mr. Tamisier? Where do you see yourself when the time comes to settle into comfort?â
Chadrick Tamisier moved to pour the wine into Maeryn's glass and nearly poured some on the table at her question. "M-me?" He seemed dumbstruck for a moment before he shook his head and finished pouring her drink. Sitting back down he pulled at his vest, asjusting it. "'ells lass... Ah've ne'er been asked tha' before... Ah di'nay think Ah've e'en considered tha' before." He seemed almost at a loss. "Ah cannay imagine a life where tha adventure stopped..."
Maeryn Archer watched his stumble with the pouring and had to lift her hand to her lips. Soft fingertips rested over them as she hid her smile and tucked it away shortly after. âI apologize if it was forward of me. I agree that, from what little time we have spent in one anotherâs company, you donât seem the type to seek rest from it. It is something I admire about you, Mr.Tamisier. You enjoy what you are doing and so very few can say such.â
Chadrick Tamisier chuckled some at his own bumble and decided to hide the slight reddening of skin behind taking a few bites of his food. A napkin came up to his lips after and he followed it with a sip of the wine. "Ah mean... eventually Ah suppose if Ah survive t' an old age... Ah'd 'ave nay choice but t' retire." A grin appeared as the glass was set back down. "Perhaps Ah'd write. Ah'm nay sure tha Sun would approve, but if Ah changed tha stories up a bit, Ah might nay get in too much trouble."
Maeryn Archer was halfway up with her glass when it came to a dead stop in her hold. Eyes the shade of a forest caught in a summer sun stared back at him with bewilderment and wonder. âYouâŚwrite....Mr.Tamisier?â
Chadrick Tamisier took another sip of his wine, pale blue eyes looking up from the drink at the change in her tone. "Well, nothin' so fancy as stories o' me adventures yet lass. At tha moment it's small things... like...songs, poems, an' lots an' lots o' reports fer tha Company."
Maeryn Archer forgot that she meant to take a drink and simply set the glass back down the table with the quietest of notes. Her full attention was locked upon him then with no end in sight that it would be swayed anytime soon; even by the delicious meal she had yet to touch. âWouldâŚwould it be too brazen to request to hear them sometime? I play the piano and would be happy to accompany you on it if you so wished.â
Chadrick Tamisier chuckled softly, obviously amused at something. "Ye play?" His expression seemed to lighten immensely. "Ah' 'ave a meeting room in tha Goblet ye see... An' one o' tha few items Ah made sure was added was a harpsichord. Ah'm better with stringed instruments and a pan-flute truth be told. So, Ah'd love t' 'ear ye play or t' play alongside ye."
Maeryn Archer flicked both ears up to full attention and almost shook with excitement at the idea of it. Both boots tapped to the floorboards as she had contained most of her joy but had to release it in some way. âPleaseâŚ-please- Mr. Tamisier.â Both hands raised up to cup upon themselves at her chest as she smiled wide with the motion. âMusic is such a lovely artform and I would be -most- pleased to both watch you and play alongside.â
Chadrick Tamisier sets down his fork and beams at the miqo'te. "T'would be me pleasure lass. Ah agree. Music is our purest means o' communicatin'. Tha right song can bring tears t' tha eyes o' the 'ardest pirate or stir tha 'eart of the weakest man t' find 'is courage an' give 'is life in war." He flushed slightly at his words. "It can e'en 'elp people find love. It's a very powerful expression."
