“Ah, I hope you didn’t take offense to that. I’m afraid I’ve been a bit quick to give my opinion, haven’t I?”
"Are you always so forward with your opinions?"
“You are a vision. I do love to partake of beauty.” Dimitri murmured, placing a gentle kiss to the person’s hand.
"Aren't you wonderfully charming,"
"Do you truly mean that?"
"Whyever would I not?"
"Any number of reasons," she countered. "Though if I recall correctly, you've snuck away from more than a few parties to explore. And will you find some handsome stranger to take with you?" she added with a light note of teasing.
"Do you truly mean that?"
"I'm deadly serious. You could be... well, maybe not twins, but definitely related," he remarked of Prue.
"I already have a twin," she commented, somewhat off topic. "Well that settles it. I will simply have to meet her." She considered him a moment, "Does it unsettle you how alike we look? Do not tell me you have a crush on her,"
"Do you truly mean that?"
"Of course I do. It's lovely braid work. Delicate and intricate."
"Thank you," she replied genuinely, for the style had take some time to do. "I can equally compliment you on how lovely your hair looks," Maela considered the other woman. "Would I be correct in guessing you are Prue?"
"I wouldn't recommend that course of action... unless your goal was to become someone's meal tonight," Isak cautioned as he observed the other person. "Not that you have that to worry about from me anyways. I have alternative appetites than most of the guest list."
"I would think you know me better than to think I was actually serious," she said, turning her attention back to him. Maela raised her eyebrows, "Alternative appetites?"
"Do you truly mean that?"
@ The Botanical Gardens Semi-Tropical Greenhouse
There weren't many people visiting the Semi Tropical Greenhouse today. A fact that surprised her a little. She'd have thought more would have sought the warmth of it. But perhaps the snow was putting many off visiting the gardens at all. It had been quiet enough that the head gardener had been happy to chat with her for a long while on their orchid breeding and conservation. And now she sat alone on a bench off one of the main paths round the greenhouse, enjoying the warmth and adding notes to the relevant pages of her personal botanical compendium. She had pages for all sorts of plants she'd come across - sketches of them, classifications, descriptions, notes on conditions in the wild and notes on institutions working to conserve them. So engrossed was she that she only dimly noted someone approaching her. It was not until they were quite close that she actually looked up, half expecting it to be the gardener she been talking to.
Ophelia was in a world of her own, practically nose deep in her newest composition project, looking down at her sheet music as she wandered towards her typical bench in the greenhouse. She was gently humming the tune amidst mumbling to herself about needing to change aspects of that section of the song when she actually noticed the fae woman already sitting on the bench, and now Ophelia was staring at her trying to place her familiarity. And then she met her gaze. "Oh... sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your peace. I didn't think anyone else was here," Ophelia explained sheepishly.
"You didn't," Maela assured her. "Was that you humming?" the sound had made it's way through her focused state, though she'd only half realised it at the time. Now her focus was off her note taking the subconscious caught up with conscious thought. "It sounded very pretty. Though it's not a tune I'm familiar with," She thought there was something vaguely familiar about the other fae, though she couldn't place it in the moment.

Joe wasn't typically the type to go to the Botannical Gardens, or at least not without company. But he'd been nearby and a little respite from the cold sounded quite nice. What he hadn't expected was to see a familiar person there though--catching sight of Prue's figure sitting on a bench a short distance away. So he decided to greet her... only that when he got close enough he realized that it wasn't Prue at all, let alone a vampire. He could hear the fluttering heartbeat of the fae in front of him, and was now staring slightly dumbstruck down at her as she met his eye. "Sorry... I thought you were someone else. Crazy resemblance, I swear."
Maela was rather surprised to find the vampire staring at her in the manor that he was. He seemed surprised himself actually. An expression that became clear once he'd spoken. "Well now I simply must know who this person is that looks so much like me,"

It wasn't that Isak was put off by the thought of cold. To be honest, he quite enjoyed that sort of weather at times, especially as someone able to make his own heat at will. But today he was itching for a bit of an escape into a warmer climate, and that wasn't an easy feat without hopping onto a plane except where the botannical gardens were concerned. He'd been strolling idly through the semi tropical greenhouse, now fully adjusting to the temperature difference to the outside. But that only made him want to sit and appreciate it for a little while longer. And as he continued his search for somewhere to sit he'd caught sight of a quite familiar and surprising face already on the bench. Maela. There must have been some sort of otherworldly call pulling their crew to Chicago again, it seemed.
He approached her slowly, with a small smile on his face that only grew as she finally noticed him and looked up. "Hello stranger."
"Isak," she beamed, twisting to set down her things on the bench beside her. Thus leaving her free to step forward to greet him. Pushing up onto her toes she half fell against him as she wrapped her arms round his neck. It was on her to do list to see the crew members who were in Chicago since Adeline had spoken of their presence. But it was a very welcome surprise to run into Isak quite by chance before she had the opportunity to visit.
Maela had left the Inn Osian and she were staying at the same time he had that morning. But she’d had another errand to run before she could follow after him to visit an old friend. “He was right,” Maela commented as she took her coat off so not to bring too much snow in with her to the shop.
Not unlike her brother's earlier, Maela's voice brought about a deep love and heartache from Adeline. She'd missed it. Letters never did that sort of thing justice. So she couldn't help but smile as she took in the sight of Maela on her doorstep. "About me being here, or about talking to plants in the absence of your delightful company?" She mused, walking over to hug Maela as she spoke. "It's so lovely to see you."
"Both, and much more," she smiled as she wrapped her arms round her friend. It really had been too long she decided. She'd missed actually getting to be in the same room instead of just exchanging letters across a vast ocean. "It's lovely to see you too, I've missed you," she said as she pulled back to once again look at the other woman. "You look well. That was another of the things my brother was right about,"

Adeline tucked her hood back as she stepped into her shop, trying her best to keep the snow contained to the front step as she could. But it the wind had other ideas that morning, evidently. In any case, she didn't expect many customers in this weather. But still, she turned the sign on the door to read open before she set about minding the plants in the front room space and adjusting the temperature.
"Lucky that you lot are tucked up safe and warm in here, hmm?" She said of the hanging plants near her then, reaching her fingertips up and smiling as their tendrils curled around her touch.
