I'm looking for my brothers...
"One is really tall...and the other is itty bitty. Have you seen them?"
“Erm… I’m afraid you’ll have to be a touch more specific.”
“Are you kidding? I wouldn’t miss this for the world. The old grump being forced to tolerate a party in his honour,”
"Careful, he might find a way to make you a target for the next one."
"Oooo! This is really good!"
"And deceptively unassuming at that."
“You know, I get the feeling he’d rather not be here,”
"Only a feeling? I'm all too certain... poor thing looks like this is his personal hell."
Maela had left the Inn Osian and she were staying at the same time he had that morning. But she’d had another errand to run before she could follow after him to visit an old friend. “He was right,” Maela commented as she took her coat off so not to bring too much snow in with her to the shop.
Not unlike her brother's earlier, Maela's voice brought about a deep love and heartache from Adeline. She'd missed it. Letters never did that sort of thing justice. So she couldn't help but smile as she took in the sight of Maela on her doorstep. "About me being here, or about talking to plants in the absence of your delightful company?" She mused, walking over to hug Maela as she spoke. "It's so lovely to see you."
Even though the snow didn't seem to show any signs of letting up, Osian was determined to carry on with the day as he'd planned it. So he trudged on through the snow. It was only his second day in the city. Well first if you didn't count the day of arrival. He rather enjoyed the fact his first impressions were of the city blanketed in white. Though he was glad when he spotted the shop he'd come out to visit. And was even more glad to see that it was open.
Osian closed the door gently behind himself, watching the warlock as he did. "Still talking to plants I see,"
Adeline frowned slightly, recognizing the voice even before she turned. But she was almost convinced she'd imagined that familiarity until she actually met his gaze. "Osian!" She rushed over, tossing her arms around him in a tight hug. "You bloody rascal!"
She pulled away just to look him over, beaming smile still affixed to her features. "You didn't write to say you were coming to town. And is Maela with you? Tell me everything before I get properly miffed with you for your silence."
"Don't tell me things like that!" she said, laughing. "You know I don't need any help from you to read too much into things," it was only partly a jest. She did tend to me quite the romantic thinker. It had lead to more than a few heart breaks and disappointments over the decades. "You wouldn't dare," she said laughing again, "Actually you definitely would. Maybe I should recruit Fenrin to distract you from it,"
"Well, perhaps I don't think you're reading into it enough," she countered, nudging Mallory's arm. In truth, Adeline had always been a monumental schemer where her friends were concerned, but only in moments where they seemed to be holding themselves back. "Not even he could distract me from playing Cupid, I should suspect. If anything he'd probably join me in my efforts."

Adeline tucked her hood back as she stepped into her shop, trying her best to keep the snow contained to the front step as she could. But it the wind had other ideas that morning, evidently. In any case, she didn't expect many customers in this weather. But still, she turned the sign on the door to read open before she set about minding the plants in the front room space and adjusting the temperature.
"Lucky that you lot are tucked up safe and warm in here, hmm?" She said of the hanging plants near her then, reaching her fingertips up and smiling as their tendrils curled around her touch.
"I know I didn't but I couldn't resist," and that look on her face made it completely worth while. He smiled again at the kiss. "You know, I knew you'd pull this costume off but still I definitely wasn't prepared," with his hands on her hips he held her at arms length so he could take another look at her. "Etherial, that's the only word for it,"
Adeline couldn't help but laugh at his comment. "Careful, sailor. That sort of flattery might entice me to steal you away into one of the side rooms here."
"It's easy to be when I mean every word," she replied in turn. Mallory playfully rolled her eyes at her friends changing of the subject, and the accusation that she'd been doing just that. But it didn't stop the faint flush making her cheeks even rosier than they already were. "I don't know what you're talking about. We were just two people dancing together for the first time. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing apart from the fact he's a complete dreamboat, and I feel I could quite happily drown in his eyes,"
Adeline practically beamed at the sight of the blush on Mallory's cheeks then, and it only deepened from the comments thereafter. "You did look very dreamy together, I must say. I daresay he'll be calling on you again tonight," she declared with a playful wiggle of her shoulders. "And if he doesn't, I might give him the hint."
"Well I can't think of a single person who would have looked as good in that dress as you,"
"You're such a darling, do you know that?" Adeline replied with a beaming smile, taking Mallory's arm. "But don't think you can steer me away from asking you about that man you were dancing with. I could hardly tear my eyes away from you two."
"And are you a fan, or was it just that it would be a good fit?"
"Both are true, in all honesty. Although I think I prefer the books ever so slightly, which likely puts me in the minority of the fanbase."
"I could never turn down such a polite invitation to dance,"
"Good. Because I love this song, and you and I are overdue for a dance," Adeline declared, taking Jonna by the hand and pulling her to the floor.
"I didn't have to think too hard on who I'd come as in the end,"
"You didn't have to match me," Adeline assured before leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to Fenrin's cheek. "But I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the fact that you did."
"Well I already had the ears naturally, so it wasn't much of a jump for the rest of the idea."
Jonna came up beside Adeline, giving the horse her hand to sniff before stroking his soft nose. "That can't be too hard, they're all so lovely," she commented with a smile. "I can't believe I've never been out here before, that I didn't even know it was here,"
"In both beauty and temperament," Adeline agreed with a fond smile of her own. "Fiadh's gifts lend quite well into being able to attend to their needs, so they're quite happy as a result." The comment about the stables resulted in a bit of laughter. "It's rather off the beaten path for most people, in your defense. I simply have the benefit of living nearby."

"And this one," Adeline began, approaching a white horse towards the end of the stables and scratching him between his ears, "is Phantom, who is the eldest male and--coincidentally--my favorite of the bunch. Although I shouldn't really say as much in front of the fillys in particular. They're rather clever and would surely catch on. So instead I do my best to alternate my affections amongst them all."
