pvrkerism:
he gives her a confused look. “for what?”
“thank you for actually caring,” she spoke, still holding onto his hand.
pvrkerism:
he squeezes her hand, gicing her a reassuring smile. “you’ll be fine. the doctors here are pretty good at their jobs.”
maeve looked over to parker with a small smile, “thank you.”
jaydenbtw:
“You’re a really shit liar, do you know that? You look and sound like shit.”
“i’m fine, and i’m not a liar.”
pvrkerism:
“oh.” he says, slightly of unsure of what to say now. “um. i’m sorry. i would say i relate and all that therapist crap, but i can’t.”
“it’s okay, it’s not your fault,” she spoke softly. she hesitated for a moment before lightly grabbing his hand.
pvrkerism:
“what kind of risk is it? i’ve never heard of something like that before.”
“i have a condition. when i get a cut or something, my blood doesn’t naturally clot. meaning it won’t stop bleeding. my immune system had a bad reaction to a treatment for that, and it made the treatment ineffective.”
eloiselong:
“Me too,” Eloise agreed, she had to watch Maeve’s lips really carefully but it was okay. “That’s me!” she exclaimed as she pointed at the picture.
maeve smiled when elise realized that the drawing was of her. “it’s us,” she exclaimed and wrapped an arm around the small girl.
pvrkerism:
he simply nods, not wanting to put any more pressure on the topic. “so they fixed it? like, it won’t happen again for a while?”
maeve shrugged, “the doctors think that i’m okay for now. they’re going to keep doing tests and stuff to make sure.”
pvrkerism:
“if you’re positive.” he tilts his head, curious. “does it happen a lot then?”
“i’m positive, parker,” she spoke softly. “no, this is the worst it’s happened. it’s only happened a couple times before.”
eloiselong:
“It just seems like a week kind of sadness,” she declared. She handed the whiteboard to Maeve, “your turn.”
“i hope it’s not that long,” she spoke. she took the whiteboard and drew eloise standing next to eloise’s drawing of her.
pvrkerism:
“’cause it doesn’t really seem to be good right now.” he shrugs, shaking his head. “what kind of medicine?”
“ ‘m just a little shaky, i’ll be fine,” she shifted. “it’s a medicine i have to take for my ...condition. it’s a risk of the medicine.”
celestc:
“That’s good, -great i mean, that’s great. Um, how was it like..?”
“it was fine, there’s no need to be so weird about it. i didn’t go on vacation or anything.”
eloiselong:
“Maybe in like a week,” Eloise said dramatically. She quickly sketched Maeve on her whiteboard, with a frowny face, before rubbing it out and replacing it with a smile.
“a week?” she asked and her eyebrow raised. she watched the smaller girl draw and couldn’t help but smile a little.
pvrkerism:
“i’m not so sure i believe that.” he said, eyebrows raised at her statement. “what happened?”
“why don’t you believe that?” she asked softly. “i had a bad reaction to some medicine, a really bad reaction.”
stopoliver:
“You’re stabilized, but that’s not synonymous with ‘good,’” Oliver said, looking down at the other. “I’m not a psychologist, but I know from my five years here that shit like that can shake you up, no matter how many times it’s happened.”
“i’m fine, how about that?” she asked, “is than an acceptable answer?” maeve was miserable. she wanted to be a normal kid so bad and not have to worry about getting hurt. she wanted to be back home with her family.
eloiselong:
“You don’t look okay,” Eloise stated and signed with her hands at the same time.
“i’ll be okay, ellie,” she spoke slowly so the young girl could read her lips.
accaciathedoctor:
“Do you need some water love? Or juice? You need to keep your fluids up.” Accacia offered her a small smile. She had been in and out of Maeve’s room countless times in the last 24 hours but she’d just needed to check on her before making her other rounds.
“ether would be nice,” she shrugged. she felt helpless, she had absolutely no control over what was happening to her. all she could do was wait, rest, and hope that the medicine worked.
“mhm. i’m good,” mave spoke quietly and adjusted her sweater over her shoulder. she was shaken up. she had just been under 24 hour supervision in the medical wing for several days after a health scare.
